"We are in an auto shop---at the City of Animus---another dimension," Daemon said.

Johnny scratched the back of his head and said, "I answer that question so often you'd think I'd have something prepared and memorized by now." Johnny took a deep breath and continued. "Where are we? We are in Animus city? How we got here is something that I don't know, but we all woke up at room four in the motel as some point, which leads me to believe that the city called us here. From what we've gathered, Animus was once part of Earth and is now a dimension of its own, entirely."

Syl continued to try to comfort Klaire.
"Miss Klaire," it said, "Everything's going to be alright. You're free in Animus. This isn't another facility where people will imprison you. It's home. And with a little bit of help, I'm sure that you'll flourish here. Please cheer up... it's not the end of the world..."

Free to roam a prison is no freedom, Klaire thought. "No, but the world as I knew it is."
She continued to observe the liquid. It was thick, sloshing around like a milkshake in the small syringe. She felt her strength fade, and she removed the cap, watching the shining needle. Her mind instantly filled with thoughts of blood, and she dropped the syringe, shuddering. The glass miraculously survived the fall, rolling over to Hex and Syl.

"Is Hex short for something? I can't think of anything off of the top of my head, but I'm not the brightest person," 'Hexagon? That's just retarded..' "No, it's just Hex." He then looked up at Johnny as he was about to speak. "Where are we? We are in Animus city? How we got here is something that I don't know, but we all woke up at room four in the motel as some point, which leads me to believe that the city called us here. From what we've gathered, Animus was once part of Earth and is now a dimension of its own, entirely." 'Huh, Well that answers a whole lot of questions.' Hex nodded to himself, he felt somewhat relieved that he wasn't so lost anymore. He then looked at Syl and nodded. "Syl's right." Hex attempted to speak in a comforting way, but unfortunately it came off as bored. 'I really need to fix that..' He thought, annoyed.

Klaire smiled at Hex. "You seem to have trouble portraying emotion," she observed, closing the briefcase. Her eyes closed, and put her head in her hand. The white-coats had told her that if she didn't take the blue injection daily, she would die. Were they lying? What would happen if she ran out? Her mind was racing with questions. She tried to climb to her feet, but stumbled back down to the ground with a groan.

"So Klaire, where you off to now? If you are going to explore the city, I'd like to come with you."

"I'm not going anywhere for the moment. I can't stand," Klaire answered between quick breaths and pains. She hurriedly reached over, grabbing the syringe from beside Hex and Syl. The sleeve on the left side of her arm vanished, and she brought the needle to her skin, feeling the cold metal touch her bare flesh. She saw a drop of blood ooze from her arm and onto her hand, and she shuddered, hurriedly wiping it onto somewhere other than herself.
She couldn't bring herself to push the needle in and get it over with.

Daemon walked to her and shoved it it, injecting the liquid, then removing it. "Done, I will be outside if you want to come," Daemon said leaving.

Syl smiled as it listened to and watched everything. This Klaire person was very interesting indeed. So she needed those syringes? Syl noticed that she shuddered when she saw her own blood and hurriedly wiped it away. Obviously, she didn't like blood that much... Poor girl, thought Syl, she must be lost.
Syl stood and offered her a hand so that she could get up.
"Come on, Klaire," said Syl, "let's find you a place to live here, or maybe do some exploring? Don't worry; it'll be fun! We won't hurt you..."

Klaire took Syl's help to her feet, wobbling a bit as the chemical she had injected took affect. It spread through her body, twisting it in ways unknown to her. A frown covered her face as she looked at her arm. Syl had wiped the blood away, but she still couldn't push the image from her mind.
"Thank you," she whispered to everyone in the room. She then walked out, and looked at Syl. "We should probably find me a place to live."

Syl grinned and nodded.
"Let's do it!" it said, as it left the autoshop, eagerly gesturing for Klaire to follow it, "come on; I know where you can find a home! Just follow me!"

Klaire smiled. She liked Syl, although she would have to ask him about his motive later (She thinks Syl is a guy). It was quite strange for someone to show genuine compassion towards her, mainly since she had been treated like ---- her entire life until now.
Maybe things are looking up for me... she thought with a smile. She elbowed both Daemon and Syl playfully, making sure she had the briefcase in her hand.
