Trace watched Deamon fall and in that moment they all screamed. Every single dead voice that surrounded them screamed. A blood curdling scream that only he could hear. Trace felt himself overflow with power, the screams of the dead empowering him, allowing him to tap into whatever strange magic they were a part of.
"There will be no more death today General, that I can assure you."
Trace charged at the General, his eyes becoming a pitch black and his mouth opening in a blood curdling scream. His entire body became surrounded by a black aura and from his back emerged two skeletal wings. The black aura fed itself into the wings, creating two perfectly formed shadow wings, which Trace used to lift himself from the floor and gain more velocity.
Trace slammed into the General full force, lifting him off of his feet. Trace continued in the same direction before releasing the General before he got to a wall. The force from the release sent the General smashing through the wall and to the ground beneath. The wings returned to his back and the black auro dissapeared. Trace turned to the rest.
"I dont know or care whether he's dead or not." Trace told them, "But we need to leave, and we need to do it now."

Klaire reached her hand down into her jean pocket, pulling a syringe from her pocket. Before she could inject it, blood from Daemon splattered on her face. She froze in fear, the needle falling from her hand. It rolled down into the sewer system. Nobody could stop it if they tried. She turned her head, watching Daemon's limp form collapse. She began hyperventilating, and before her fear fully developed, she grabbed the second needle, driving it into her arm and pushing the plunger. She then went into full blown blood fear mode, dropping the empty syringe and cringing up. She wildly attempted to wipe the foreign blood from her face in horror. It then hit her.
Daemon was dead. She was too terrified to hear his message, though, She cried in the pandemonium.

"Move you idiot." Bremmen whispered to himself, wishing the Red General would get to hear him from all the way up the building.
The Red General didn't move. He was on the ground, face down. On an open wound at the back of his head, a few sparking wires were exposed.
The Red General didn't move...

Syl nodded to Anya as she healed Klaire.
"Thank you, miss Anya."
Glad that Klaire was alright, it then turned to Daemon... just in time to see him die, his blood splattering everywhere. Not again!
Its expression became shocked as it watched Daemon fall, miserably, and as his body rolled over, limp, motionless... dead. It was almost enough to send Syl into shock again, only prevented by its will to live and its resolve to live through this.
One one hand, Syl was dismayed at itself for failing to prevent his death, on the other, it had a feeling from the beginning that he would die. Suicidal thoughts often begot death, and death often resulted in grief. Syl was deeply shaken at the loss of another friend, this time perhaps for good, but it resolved to recover and rise above that grief. Would Kiel like it if it died? No, that would waste the years and sacrifices it took for it to protect Syl and to ensure that it survived to this day.
It knew that it had to survive; that was its calling, and if its friends had to die, so be it. It would carry on, and it remember them... especially Daemon, who cared for it so much.
Before he died, though, it heard his last message.
Syl, Klaire, you both are my only real friends in my three hundred years of living. Please have everything I own, even my loyal companion--my scythe---I
That message touched Syl deeply.
Tears rolled down Syl's cheeks, as it left Klaire's side and ran over to his body. It obeyed his last wish, taking his cloak and scythe. Klaire was in no condition to carry anything, so Syl put on Daemon's cloak and slung his scythe so that it wore it on its back like he did, not minding their weight. It returned to Klaire and Anya, now wearing Daemon's stuff. It knelt down before Klaire, wiping the blood from her face.
"It's alright, Klaire, it's alright," whispered Syl.
It used its sleeves and Daemon's cloak to wipe away her tears when there was no blood left on her face, trying to comfort her, doing whatever was in its power to make her feel better, whispering reassurances, putting a hand on her shoulder, continuing to wipe away her tears...
"Trace is right," said Syl, as it turned back to Anya. "We have to leave. Now."
