Five ticks on the wall. It marked the amount of times one of the people had paced past her padded cell. Her internal clock timed the rounds, and she was not happy with how long she had been in the room. Seven days. For goodness's sake, how long would they keep her locked up.
Twelve ticks. Twenty days. She screamed, letting it echo in the small room as she pounded on the door in obvious anger, tear streaming from her blue eyes, her blond hair disheveled. She collapsed to the floor and cried, only to be tied in a straight jacket.
She couldn't tick anymore, but she assumed it was 25 ticks, thirty days now. All she could do was cry...

Sara motioned inside the old, abandoned, sanitarium. She had hear stories from her parents; accounts of what the sanitarium unleashed during their early months in Animus. The release of the inmates into the streets to their inevitable meeting with the Black Goat. From distances, Sara had seen everything.
Her she was now. Twenty. Walking through today's quiet walls of the sanitarium, Sara motioned past the empty rooms and heard the faint sound of tears in the distance. "Is anybody in here?", Sara called out.

A voice. No, no it couldn't be. It was part of her imagination. "I don't believe in you!" she shouted in a hoarse voice that she barely recognized as her own. She continued her quiet sobs, closing her eyes tight, denying the existence of another living, sentient soul in the building.

"I don't believe in you!" A voice shouted from inside one of the cells. Tommy stood behind the large metal door and peered through the small glass window. "Oh well now! Isn't this a wonderful sight hmm? It seems I'm not the crazy one after all, in fact mada'am, it is you!" Tommy cackled loudly as he shoved his face even closer to the window so that his eye was eyeing up the inmate top to bottom. "How on earth did you end up here my sweet? Oh I have just a marvellous idea! Ok I'll be back. Don't go anywhere.." Tommy giggled. Tommy walked off down the hallway slamming his hands against the concrete walls, screaming. A few moments later he came back to the room he was at before. Except he now had a clipbordand pencil, a white coat, and a bunch of keys. Looking through the window Tommy rattled the keys with exaggeration, then picking out one he squeeled out "OH YES! Here is that pesky little monster I was looking for!" Tommy shoved it in the lock and turned. A disheartening cracking sound boomed out down the empty hall. "Hmm.. I guess it wasn't afterall. No matter" Tommy took a few steps back and booted the door off its hinges and into the cell. Tommy leapt in crouched down and slowly rose to his feet stalking his way to the inmate. "Good morning worm! It seems you are in the looney bin, which makes you... A LOONEY! Hahahaha! Now tell me, how are the hallucinations been going for you my little honey pie? Still got the bugs crawling around under your eyelids? Scratching doesn't help much does it? Hmm? Yes? Uhh.. Hmm oh dear.." Tommy was scribbling notes down on his clipbord as he rambled on and on to the girl. "Well at least you've taught yourself to count? That's a good sign I'm sure!" Tommy motioned over to her tickes and scratches on the walls. Then he took a step closer to her, kneeling down. Rasping his words out right next to her ear "Tell me, you little chatterbox you. What do you think it would feel like to be eaten alive? Would you feel excruciating pain? Or only a little, pass out from shock? Or none at all, you may not believe it is happening untill too late my dear.." Tommy got back up and wrote more notes down, "Well, that concludes our session for today. I shall return this evening to check up on you my little ray of sunshine. Don't worry, I'm a good hallucination." Tommy winked at the girl before picking up the door walking out of the cell and putting it back in place. Except instead of just leaving it Tommy took out a lighter and held it in front of his mouth, belching into the open flame, welding the door back into its primary position. Tommy loked through the window, its edges black now "Remember, I'm a good hallucination.." Tommy burst out with high pitched laughter as he walked off down the hall.

As Sara approached the cell, she had heard Tommy's rant. Aside from the girl calling back out to her, it was enough for her to know that someone was inside.
Sara marched before Tommy as he welded the door back to place. "Tommy, you better knock that door back down!".

Tommy abruptly turned to Sarah, "But my dear, " Tommy paused and looked closer at her "My, my how you've grown.. Anyway I can't let her out. You seeshe is a danger to the normal citizens of Animus, we can't have basket cases like her running wild now can we?" Besides as you can see she is a fire hazard. I'm sure she will be fine when I go see her this evening. By the way you look a little flushed, would you care to step into my office and have a check up? I'm sure you have some inner thoughts you are just dying to let out. I'm a perfect listener, in fact you'll think I wasn't listening at all!" Tommy threw back his head and cackled. "Here come with me, I'll clear my schedual just for you, come on down this way my sweet." Tommy took Sara's hand and started pulling her down the long, empty hallway whistling as he went.

"We're not going anywhere until you let her out, Tommy.", Sara replied as she released herself from Tommy's grasp and crossed her arms together. "And by calling the girl in there a basket case, you just basically described every single person who has ever set foot in this city.", Sara added as she drew her face close to Tommy. "And that includes the both of us. So, are you gonna let her out or not?".

"We're not going anywhere until you let her out, Tommy." Sara pulled away from Tommy's grasp and stood back like a stubborn child. "Oh come now, you are acting like quite the child.." Tommy wasn't wanting this, he had other patients to see to, he actually was going to go back to an office and just start pretending to read, a trick he learned from Mr. Psycho about being professional. "And by calling the girl in there a basket case, you just basically described every single person who has ever set foot in this city." Sara was extremely close to Tommy now, he admired that. "Well of course there has to be someone who has to split hairs doll. It's all a point of view really, " Tommy explained one arm over his chest while he gestured with the other. "But between us, I totally agree with you." Tommy added with a wink. "And that includes the both of us." Tommy was shocked, he stepped back his mouth open wide his finger outstretched and pointing. "HERETIC! HEATHEN! NON-BELIEVER!" Tommy screeched So, are you gonna let her out or not?" A long silence followed, untill Tommy just calmly said. "O.K" He walked back to the cell crouching down he poked his tounge out, licking where the door had been welded on all around the edge and to the bottom of the other side. Then Tommy just filled his lungs with air, and gave a soft blow to the door and it felllike a tone of bricks. "Happy?" Tommy asked, clearly dissapointed.

The girl just curled up into a little ball in the back of the room when Tommy entered, whimpering quietly, closing her eyes tight. She refused to acknowledge his existence. When he left, she struggled to her feet, approaching the now-welded door and slamming into it once or twice, screaming in a mix of anger and extreme depression. She then sat back down.
When the door collapsed again, the routine was rinsed and repeated. "Go away," she whispered through the quiet sobs.

Sara approached the girl slowly and said, "It's alright. You have nothing to fear anymore.". Slipping off her coat, Sara placed it over the girl and knelt before her.

Tommy strolled up to the girl, "Well, except for all the things there is to be afraid of in the world. Which when you're in a place like this could be damn well near everything!" Tommy grinned at the girl as he bent lower to get his face inches from hers. "Hmm.. Just what I thought, a nut job. Nurse Sara I'm afraid this one will have to be sedated indefinately." Tommy grabbed te girl by the arm and dragged her out of the room. "Come now Sara I'm going to need someone with me when this one starts the excelled decomposing when we inject her. Oh it's times like this that makes thejob all worth while." Tommy said dropping the girl to wipe a tear from his eye.

When Tommy dropped her, she stumbled back a few feet, he arms turning into bone blades. "Get the hell away from me!" she screamed, her light blue eyes watching him like a hawk watches it's prey. She was crouched into the stance of a trained fighter, her blonde hair disheveled beyond belief.

"Tommy!", Sara screamed out. "Can't you see how frightened this girl already is? You're just making it worse." Sara approached the girl and turned to Tommy and calmly, but firmly added, "Be cool.".
"How did you get locked here?", Sara asked the girl.

"The bad man is inside of my head!" the woman said quietly, taking steady steps back from the two. "I don't know how I got into crazy place! I woke up here! I want to go home! No, no, there is no home, only the bad men!" she then babbled incoherently.

"You see Sara? She belongs in here! Just listen to her rambling about nothing.." Tommy stood with his clipbord and pencil out pretending to scribble notes down furiously. When he had stopped the paper only had noughts and crosses games, hangman and drawings of stick figures killing eachother. "As you can see by this graph Sara she is gone beyond our help, and must sedate her. Come with me my girl, we will get rid of the bad man." Tommy grinned sadistically.
