" The fall wasn't so big but my body is crippled thanks for my dash." He kept couching blood after every second word. Soon after he finished his vision started to blur and he tried to say " I shouöd thank War someday."

"For now, relax.", Veronica murmured as she placed her hands over Phobia's legs and slowly began to heal his wounds.

"This is personal business Animus," replied Asri, "And it's unpleasant enough that we should be left on our own. Watch if you want, Animus, but I will tell you... the last time outsiders got involved, it resulted in more... collateral damage... then usual... Heh... Our family... can get involved in some nasty business sometimes..."
His irritated expression soon twisted into a wicked smile. He gripped the sword tightly in his right hand. He could feel his heart beating in his chest, the adrenaline surging through his body. Now was the time to fight! Without much warning, Asri lunged at the woman, sword in hand, aiming for her head. She nimbly dodged, and giggled as she charged, her claws deadly sharp and hard as steel. They clashed for a few minutes, within sight of the group, fighting viciously.
Then, Asri suddebnly stepped out of her path, spreading his wings and hovering above the ground, just out of her reach. His wings were feathered, their feathers crystalline in appearance and structure.
He held out one hand and muttered something under his breath in a demonic language. A red light appeared in his hands. Then, slowly but surely, their source became evident. Tiny incorporeal creatures were squiming and swarming around his hand, looking like miniature demonic sea serpents. Leeches. Constucts that served to drain energy from a certain location. It just so happened that this woman's aura, her being, was concentrated in her body, but also spread around the nearby area. Hence why the leech tactic worked.
Asri grinned at her.
"You'd think that I'd let you go without having you suffer?" he said coldly, "He has to know that I mean business, and it doesn't involve me delivering roses to his garden of the dead. I am an angel of Luisine, and as such, I shall fulfill the contract!"
*****
Syl had just finished sending the message to Kiel when it saw Phobia save some unknown girl from falling. It stood and watched everything calmly. It felt a little strange... had Kiel fixed some of the bugs in its personality? Syl stood, looking first at Asri, who was viciously fighting the woman. It knew what she was, bits and pieces of why he was fighting. Asri really was a good person, but his curse often got in the way of that. He wasn't a Fallen angel, he was forever cursed. Syl slowly stood and took a few steps towards Phobia and Veronica. Very carefully, it knelt down next to Phobia.
"I'm sure that you will be fine, Phobia," it said softly, "I trust miss Veronica. I'm just worried about my brother... Asri, he has deep wounds that she cannot heal."
A gust of wind blew around them, tugging at Syl's hair and coat. It gently pulled a few strands of hair out of its face as it continued on. It turned its gaze from Phobia to Asri as he fought the woman. It looked very worried, on the brink of tears.
"I don't think this girl should see him like this. Asri's a good person, but he's..."

Animus crossed his arms and said, "This is my realm. You are all residents under my domain. You're business is now my business.". Animus' tone grew cold and continued. "That said, it is best to let me know what is going on?".
Animus looked at the woman and asked, "What seems to be the problem, miss?".

The woman bit her lip, looking at the man that was speaking to her. She was wary of him, but she knew that he was the one that could help her put an end to this family feud. She spoke slowly, her voice brittle and thin.
"I came here bearing a message to you and Asri, Animus," hissed the woman, "Asri and his brother must reconcile. Their conflict has cost thousands of innocent lives and wrought suffering upon countless others. This must stop before more lives are lost." Asri threw the leeches at the woman before she could continue. She shrieked as she motioned away, running in circles around him to avoid rthe leeches. Asri thought that they would distract her long enough. He didn't want to tell Animus his business but it seemed that he had to, and put up with Kiel's reaction later.
"Shut up, woman!" said Asri, turning to Animus, "my brother's place is in Hell, where he damn well belongs! We have signed a contract with Azrael, the Angel of Death, to bring him and his followers back for Judgment. They are Lost Souls, the dead that refuse to see the afterlife, and that must be taken care of before they cause any disturbances... Azrael has identified this as a potential hotspot for them to come and hide, a place for them to come and acucmulate in number. Once there are enough of them, they will turn this city into a Necropolis. Syl, Kiel and I are here to prevent that."

Animus waved his hand and cleared the leeches from the woman. Looking at Asri, Animus said, "You have disrespected me and you have disrespected this woman. I hold you all to respect, I insist that you do the same.".
Animus walked around and said, "Every being that has awaken in my realm is in fact a lost soul. Veronica, Tommy, Syl, and yourself are in fact lost souls for having come across here. This city is already a Necropolis with the mindless who have lost their way. You should have realized that. Whatever problems that shall rise will be dealt with accordingly.".

"May I something Animus?" Tommy stepped foreward "If the mindless are just lost souls what does it matter that some die? I mean they're not even real people anymore. To me they've always just seemed like empty, hollow puppets with no feeling of thought. So again, what does it matter if they're hurt?"

When Phobia heard what Tommy said, he tried to stand up but ended just sitting. " 'If one can feel pain means one is alive' In other words as long as you keep hurting some one he's going to be alive. Even after his Death."
Just saying that was harder than I thought it would. Thanks to that I'm tired and should sleep. He laid down again and fell asleep. In his dream he was in strange room filled with switches of all kinds and in the one side of the room old man was flipping them randomly.
- Where are we? Phobia asked - That isn't something that you shouldn't forget. Man answerred. - Well it seems like I have forgotten. - This is your sensory system. All what you feel can be alterred here. But that's enough chit chatting. It's time for you to go. You have been here far too long.
Then the room disapeared from his sight.

Veronica knelt before Phobia and looked at him before turning to the rest and saying, "I think he needs some rest. I think we all do.".
Animus looked at Veronica and said, "Perhaps, but now might not be the right time for some of us.".
Veronica nodded at Animus as she took Sara in her arms and said, "I'll take Sara back home, she could use some sleep as well. I'll return once I've tucked her in.".
As Veronica turned away, Sara waved at the group and said, "Bye bye, and thank you for saving me Phobia.".
Animus looked at Tommy, Phobia, Asri, and Syl, individually before saying. "Tommy and Phobia have a point. But then again, they have their memories and somewhere in the back of their minds, lie small voice of consciousness. Tommy, when you think back to the moments when you viciously slaughtered many of mindless, did you not see the tremor of fear in their eyes?".

The woman turned to Animus when he he freed her from Asri's leeches. A part of her was grateful, a part of her was angry at his... limitations. Animus was not all knowing it seemed... he did not understand the nature of their conflict, and for that it they would have to take special measures. If there was anything that any member of Kiel's family had in common, it was that they looked innocent, but they had their secrets. She had encountered them at their worst, and it was certainly something that did not bode well for Animus if for some reason they were to unleash their full wrath.
"You do not understand the nature of our business nor our conflict!" she hissed at him, narrowing her eyes, "so long as you remain ignorant, I would kindly insist you stay out. We do not want unnecessary casualities in our battles, and your ignorance of our affairs will only lead to the loss of thousands more than is necessary. The Lost Souls here and Kiel and its family are opponents, Animus. Yet we are reaching for peace. If I must fight to achieve Diorel's ends, so be it!"
The woman then ran towards Asri with deadly speed, aiming her claws at his neck. Asri sidestepped her, and attempted to retaliate, only to be met with a hard blow to the head. He immediately crumpled to the ground, unconscious.
"Good thing you were distracted," said the woman, "I'm reporting this to your brother, Asri. Farewell, until the next time we meet."
With that, the woman disappeared, and her presence faded.
*****
"ASRI!" yelled Syl, running up to him, "ASRI!"
Ignoring what was going on around it, it leapt over the table, and over to Asri. Its brother was sprawled on the ground, motionless. Luckily he had retracted his wings before he fell, but he looked... so... vulnerable... Syl knelt down next to him, worried. It looked at Animus asking Tommy a question, then sighed. It took his bag and began digging in it. It eventually retrieved the Book of Ilsvari, the book of the religion that Asri believed in. Syl didn't know the deity, Luisine, but the book was... important. Many memories were hidden within its pages, many notes and footnotes were made in the margins of the text on purple ink. It was hard to believe that this thing could kill people, but it was still Asri's favourite book.
Syl opened the book, and found several papers meticulously folded within the first few pages. Letters. Apologies. Essays. His attempts at repenting for his 'sins.' And... a... poem...
Syl looked at Animus and Tommy, then back at the poem. No, it couldn't look at it now, otherwise Animus would notice and ask to read it, which would greatly upset Asri... these were very personal letters.Syl tucked them away, then flipped through the first few pages of the book, searching for a nice prayer to say. After being influenced by his curse like that, Asri would need all the help he could get.
"Wake up soon Asri," said Syl, tears beginning to slide down its eyes. "I don't want to be alone in this place."

Animus looked down at Syl and asked, "What is in that book?". Gliding around the group, Animus crossed his arms together and said, "Peace, refuge, and sanctification are things I can grant. However, you all seem to somehow underestimate me. Had I not been understanding, I would see that you would all pay for this dearly. You all seem to forget that I am just as old as the universe itself, I am among the seven planes. I was a witness to the creation of many of realms you all consider homes. If there is something to come, let it come. I have dealt with worse.".

Syl immediately closed the book and held it tight against its chests when Animus tried to sneak a peek.
"It's personal," said Syl softly "don't look. If Asri finds out that you read it, he'll be very upset. I... was just looking for a prayer to say for him. To make him happy when he wakes up. I don't want him to suffer so much..."
It hung its head, tears streaming down its face. Perhaps it was underestimating Animus, but it knew that Kiel wasn't so easily duped. Syl didn't know of the exact nature of what Kiel and it served, but it knew that it was something more than just some lord with his fief. No, it was one of the most powerful forces in the universe. How else could Kiel travel so easily to and from Animus? How else could it be able to hold such a desire to keep the balance between life and death? What it didn't want was Animus misunderstanding everything and trying to fix things by force. It was not Kiel's master, nor could it ever be.
Syl clutched the book, not even looking at Animus.
"Asri..."
