Jake looked up, seeing the cloud she was talking about. He raised an eyebrow. "Eminor, that was probably the most random thing I've heard in my life, but yes, it does look like a boat," Jake then said with a short laugh.

Eminor looked at his shirt, which had red splotches from her face against it. "Sorry", she said, frowning at him. She removed her wrist from her nose and watched the dripping red liquid leak steadily from the palm of her hand to the floor. "Lovely."

"Would a band-aid on your nose help?" Jake asked sarcastically. He pulled out yet another tissue, putting this one up to her nose. He smiled warmly, and they soon reached the hospital.
He sat he down in the waiting room as he began thinking. How in the world could a bunch of mindless people take care of Eminor's wounds? In fact, how were they supposed to sign in, or anything of that sort?

Viscum had been silent during most of the journey towards the hospital, only exchanging pleasantries when talked to. These people seemed normal enough, but he wasn't going to let his guard down, he never did. He had to ensure the safety of his siblings above all else. As they arrived at the hospital Viscum walked up to the check in desk and exchanged a few words with the secretary. She was one of the mindless, so he kept it as short as possible so she would understand. Once it had been sorted he returned to the others in the waiting room.
"Everything is sorted, she'll come get us when the doctor's ready. It shouldn't take too long, they are very good with time management."

Eminor held the soaking wet tissue to her nose, looking around. "I never liked hospitals", she said, sighing from the lack of energy. Sheleaned on Jake's shoulder, holding her head with one hand and her tissue with another. "Jakie, my head hurts".

"That's understandable. You're probably feeling drowsy too, both due to the blood loss caused by the nose bleed," Jake explained. He let her lean on his shoulder, albeit somewhat awkwardly. He was curious how Viscum managed to speak to the mindless. They had never spoken to Jake before, nor anyone he knew, for that matter.

"How much longer...am I going to sit here for?", she asked, ehr temper acting up even though she was drowsy. She struggled to her feet and sloppily made her way to the counter, gripping the edge tightly for support. Pointing a bloodied finger at the mindless receptionist, she said, "Oi, you there", she paused, wiping her nose. "Hurry the hell up"

"Eminor," Jake sighed, walking up to the desk and grabbing her wrist. He dragged her back to the bench, but not before looking at the secretary. "I'm sorry," he apologized, even if she couldn't understand him. He sat down next to Eminor.
"They'll come and get you when they're ready. Rightn ow, you need to calm down."

Eminor huffed, causing a stream of fresh blood to flow down. "I am calm! They're taking so long though!" she said, gripping a nearby magazine so hard it sooned crumbled to dust in her hands.

Viscum watched Eminor, slightly amused at her impatience. While impatience could often be a burden, like it was being here, it could also be a benefit in certain situations, so it was too soon to judge this girl on a simple personality trait. He waited until they had sat down before he spoke.
"You won't get anywhere talking to them like that." Viscum said calmly, his voice almost like a melody as he leaned against the opposite wall. "They don't register emotion in voices you see, so aggression is simply a waste of time."

Jake was somewhat shocked when he saw the magazine crumple to dust. "Viscum," Jake began, "how do you know so much about Animus? How long have you been here, going under the notice of the residents?" he then finished, raising an eyebrow in interest. The man seemed very learned when it came to the mindless, suggesting he had avoided sentients for a long while and began to understand the only other people around, the mindless.

"I have been here a good while longer than you originally anticipated, but it doesn't take a genius to work out the motivations of the mindless, just some observation." Viscum stated, his voice very 'matter of fact'. "They no longer recognize or feel emotion and have no opinions of their own, but they do remember what it is to be human. They respond to basic sentences in the same way a young child would, they understand directions and commands and remember how to do their jobs. How else do you think Animus has remained running?"
With that Viscum was interrupted by a doctor in a long white coat. While he was holding a clipboard he didn't take the time to read it. When he spoke his voice was monotone, there was no emotion in it or any present on his face.
"You are next miss. Please follow me."
With that the Doctor turned and walked away, not waiting to see if they had followed.
"See," Viscum said to those around him. "Basic speech skills. He'll do his job perfectly because that is what he knows. The mindless have no opinions or beliefs. Their only thought is completing the task that they have been given."

Eminor glared and dusted herslef off, and followed the doctor. "Took you bloody well long enough. Now hurry up and get me a band-aid or something", she ordered, stomping off behind him, dragging Jake with her. "You're not leaving me alone with that creepy person, Jakie."

Jake was dragged along behind Eminor by the collar of his shirt, making playful choking noises. He laughed quietly, and then looked at Viscum slightly puzzled. "How did they become mindless? There's no logical explanation for it. Did they just go to sleep one night and lose their sentience or something?"

"Maybe they were put here like that. Animus does things to people, y'know", Em joined the conversation, sounding like she had a stuffy nose. "Put here to help us where we can't help ourselves, without being clueless ninnies like us."
