"Syl!" Rosa said gleefully, glad to see him again. His appearance brought back some unwanted memories of Karashi's dishonesty, but she pushed them out of her mind, not wanting to think about people like that. "It's good to see you again."
Maz looked at Syl with a bemused look. It had leaves and flowers stuck in his hair, and there were thistle heads attached to it's clothing. Either this was a very bold fashion choice or Syl had been sleeping somewhere in the nearby vicinity, which would of course mean Syl had yet to claim one of the empty houses unlike a few of the other residents he had sensed.
"Syl, you may want to brush yourself off." Maz said with a small grin, not showing that as he spoke he was analyzing Syl.
Rosa laughed, before turning to Chrystabelle.
"Chrystabelle, this is Syl. Syl, this is Chrystabelle."

Chrystabelle watched Rosa's joyful reaction. She decided that if the first people who'd been nice to her in this city liked this person, than Syl must be good. She eyed the flowers in it's hair. She really wanted one, but did not know what would be a polite way to. Deciding that asking always worked best, she smiled.
"Excuse me, but may I have the flowers if you don't want them?"

Syl grinned widely at Chrystabelle as it picked the flowers and leaves out of its hair and the thistle heads out of its clothing. It ran up to her, grinning even more widely as it proudly held up the flowers in its hands to Chrystabelle.
"Alright!" it said, with wide, happy eyes, "you can have them all, Miss Chrystabelle! They're pretty aren't they? Wow, do you like flowers and nature too? Why don't we walk around the park? Some parts are icky and kinda mosquito-infested, but some parts are really, really pretty! The flowers there are so pretty!"
Syl turned to Rosa and ran towards her for a hug.
"It's so good to see you, miss Rosa!"

Chrystabelle accepted the flowers happily, inhaling their sweet scent before placing them in her own long hair. "I do like them, but they're a rarity back in my home." Looking around , she spotted many flowers and other kinds of foliage. "But I suppose that isn't a problem here, and a walk would be lovely."

Rosa was caught off guard by Syl charging at her for a hug. She never had been a massive fan of intimate contact with others, despite her uplifting personality. But she stood still, and ruffled Syl's hair as he hugged her. Rosa then turned back to Chrystabelle before speaking.
"Then a walk it is." Rosa said cheerfully, a smile on her face. "And then we can go check out the library, get you that knowledge you were talking about."

Syl seperated itself from Rosa and threw its arms up in the air as it walked deeper into the park, gesturing for Rosa, Maz and Chrys to follow.
"Yay!" it exclaimed, "I love walks! Nature's so fascinating, especially the birds! Never mind that most of the birds here are crows, starlings, sparrows, pigeons and the occasional falcon, but if we're lucky, we'll see if we can find something really cool! There are a lot of cookl animals here if you know where to look! All you have to do is wander around here for some weeks!"
Its grin grew wider.
"And wow! The library?! You're the best Rosa! After the park, let's go there! I'm so excited! I really love to learn stuff, but the only problem there is that the books are a bit confusing..."

Chrystabelle smiled at Syl, walking quickly to keep up with his pace. She liked his energetic spirit, as it was similar to a gypsy's. "Maybe we'll see a dove? Or a canary, they have such sweet songs," she wondered aloud. She considered the comment about the library. "Well, we could help each other? I'm not sure how I'll handle reading higher level books, but we could always ask the..the, librarian?"

I'm not sure how I'll handle reading higher level books, but we could always ask the..the, librarian?"
"Considering the librarian is one of the mindless they'll only be able to help you with very basic things," Rosa said, frowning. Her frown quickly turned into a grin though. "But then again, Maz is an expert on pretty much everything, so he can help us out. Right Maz?"
Maz frowned, placing a hand on his hip in a playful manner. He then smiled softly, before beginning to walk slowly.
"I suppose I can help, there is nothing better than the urge for knowledge."

Chrystabelle looked at Maz curiously. "Expert at every thing? You look so young! How is it that you know so much?" She paused. "And what do you mean by 'mindless', Rosa?"

Syl gave them a small and twirled around as it walked in front of them. Explaining things was a hobby Syl was fond of
"Those people don't have any minds or free will," it said, "they're like robots if you know what I mean - those clunky men that're made out of metal and walk everywhere awkwardly. They were once normal people, but nowadays they just do their jobs for the city, walk around, get slaughtered, frustrate people and maybe give you directions and that's it. I know it's sad but..." Syl stopped and looked back at them, grinning.
"Free sugar!" it said happily, "they don't care whether you pay for not, so you can have anything for free. Like sugar! I love sugar! I just wonder if they'll ever regain their minds... If that happens, I wonder if I can still get free sugar...?"

"Expert at every thing? You look so young! How is it that you know so much?"
"I have a natural aptitude for knowledge. Everything I read sticks in my brain and can be accessed at any time I am in need of it. Tie that in with the fact that I've lived for a couple of thousand years and read up on just about every topic there is to read about, and you get the picture."
"If that happens, I wonder if I can still get free sugar...?"
"I doubt it Syl." Rosa said with a playful smile. "People with minds usually want payment for their goods, be that sugar or anything else. Maybe you'd have to get a job and make some money Syl." Rosa chuckled at the thought of Syl working a mundane nine to five job. "Personally, I couldn't do that kind of stuff. I much prefer street performing to any kind of mundane day job."

"What a bizarre, magical place, where you can live so long and be so nonchalant about it!" She mused. "And where people can function without thoughts in their heads...." She quietly vowed that she would never allow herself to fall to such a state, before turning to smile at Rosa.
"It's really very fun, performing in front of crowds. I'm sure you'd be good at it, especially since you have such pretty hair. I noticed once that appearances could attract just as many people as talent. Either way, it was much better than staying indoors with nothing but papers."

Syl's face fell as it heard about having to work, before brightening up somewhat. It concealed the fact that it was currently dissecting the little snippet of information Maz had so happily divulged.
In a way, Maz resembled itself and Asri... A few fragments of memories with the angel came flashing back to Syl, before rapidly disappearing back into the farthest reaches of its mind. Syl analyzed information as it came in, while Asri was an avid reader of anything that caught his interest. Although he rarely admitted it it, over the years he had accumulated a lot of knowledge, having a combination of excellent memory (essential for his job as a lawyer) and a hobby of studying. Syl remembered Asri to be fond of history, although a change was nice every now and then.
"Aww... but what will I work as?" It cocked its head at Rosa. "Miss Rosa, what do you think I can work as? Maybe I can work as an... um... ah... um..."
It trailed off, looking upwards, temporarily forgetting that it was still technically one of Azrael's grim reapers.
"Wait a moment... What could I possibly work as...? Any ideas, Rosa?"

"Wait a moment... What could I possibly work as...? Any ideas, Rosa?"
Rosa racked her mind for any kind of job that Syl could do. Syl didn't exactly have any kind of educational qualifications, but then again neither did the siblings but they had managed during the time traveling the world before coming to Animus. They had gotten by through the use of their powers and natural ability to talk their way out of any situation, however dangerous or inescapable they seemed.
"I have absolutely no idea Syl." Rosa said with a laugh. "I guess you could work in the food court. That way you could get a discount off of sugar anytime you like."

"Well, in my city," Chrystabelle began, biting her lip in thought. "In my city, people would pay a lot of money to men and women considered 'pure of soul' to heal their hearts and minds, so they can go to heaven. Those people had very innocent seeming personalities, kind of like you, Syl." She sighed, a sad smile appearing on her lips.
"But you shouldn't do that. They were frauds, every single one. I see you as more of a... a someone that makes other people smile."
