Veronica turned back to Zachery and said, "Then were going to have to take what we can get and move into the catacombs now.".

Syl cocked its head as it looked at Veronica and then when it looked outside.
"Huh? What's going on...?"
It rubbed its eyes, yawning. Yet another human habit Kiel had programmed into it. Still... Syl's aura sensing was active now, scanning the area for any disturbances. What it sensed in the church's court yard were a few inky blobby demons... they were close enough for Syl to discern their shapes, even the fact that they were wearing masks.
"What are those strange blobby things outside?" said Syl, "are they friends of yours? Can I... play with them? Ah... and what's with the masks?"
It cocked its head to the other side.
"I'm so confused."

Asri meanwhile was busy scarfing down food at a rapid pace; due to the threat at hand, he chose the more fatty, calorie-laden food so that he could recuperate his energy. While it would look odd for someone as thin and beautiful as him to be scarfing down so much food, Asri wasn't human. He wouldn't accumulate the body fat... mostly because of his physiology and the fact that Syl had been keeping him chronically in need of energy when it dragged him around the city on their little 'adventures.' Asri tried his best to protect Syl, but he knew that the protection that he could offer now was limited...
It was then at the edges of his range, he sensed the same ink demons, the same ones that had almost killed them both... He chuckled as he sensed the Houndtrackers prowl the outskirts of the church, as they swiftly destroyed the few spies that lurked around the church.
You're making things worse, aren't you?
That's my purpose for being.
Drawing them here by killing their scouts, only to force me to summon more of those abominations... is that what you're planning, hmm? What more pain do you want to inflict on me than what you've already done? I still have some humanity left; I've gotten used to it by now.
You don't realize what I'm doing, Asri. I'm only hastening the inevitable. If we are to face this little demon problem, why don't be do it with grace, head on?
Heh. Just like a true idiot of Luisine.
Asri glared at the opposite wall, where he saw his own shadow mocking him.
I am an angel of Luisine, not an idiot. It's been with brains that that we've survived as long as we have. And, naturally, Kiel's assistance.
You can't rely on it forever.
Don't underestimate Kiel. The last person that did that got his entrails handed to him. Literally.
Don't underestimate me. You know how I love tormenting you, and wait 'till the others find out who summoned those Houndtrackers... Heh. Do you not love the beauty in that, my dear Asarek?
As Asarek finished gulping down an energy drink, he noticed a trickling sensation on his wrist... wasn't it ban...daged? Asri gasped in horror as he saw the wound bleeding profusely, soaking the bandage thoroghly. He dropped the bottle, gasping in surprise, struggling to keep himself from shrieking in surprise.
"S***! DAMN IT!"
Producing another roll of bandages from his bag, Asri ran deeper into the catacombs, hopefully where no one else could find him. He... he didn't want to the others to see him like this! Not with... all these demons! He would only have a limited amount of time to deal with the reopening of the wound... to prevent himself from summoning any more demons... Just... He silently prayed to Luisine that he could stop the bleeding in time.

Zachery thought the kid was crazy, thinking of playing with carnivorous killer blobs. “C’mon kid, shake off the sleep and get moving. Those ‘friends’ are dangerous, and they are hideous blobs of oil ready to kill you. So we have to move down bellow.” he said. “We can’t stay here long, I don’t think they are stupid enough to not notice all of us bunched up in a torn down church.”

Syl fell silent, looking down at the ground. It sat there in silence for a few long minutes, not moving, speaking or even showing any emotion. At last, Syl stood and nodded at the white-eyed man.
"I apologize," said Syl, "I didn't know, and I was too confused to sense their hostile intent."
It rose to its feet and casually stepped towards the back of the church, in the same direction that Asri had disappeared in. It had put its hands in its pockets, looking at the others with a strangely calm expression on its face. Especially the white-eyed man.
"I agree in that we should retreat deeper into the church. Sooner rather than later. Right now, I think I need to check up on him down there. Something must have bothered him; he's running deeper into the catacombs as we speak."
Asri worried Syl, honestly. Why was he fleeing so deeply into the catacombs? Was it because of his curse? If so, he might need its assistance in overcoming the threat that lay within his own blood... It had to get to him... to deal with whatever was bothering him and reunite with the main group... and FAST!

Zachery quickly followed Syl, letting the others follow as well. It wouldn't take long for these strange attackers to take off from the defensive and take offensive. They would most likely break in soon, and there wasn’t time to be messing around talking until they were ensured some sort of measure of safety. He and Syl went the same way Asri had, going through long hallways, he didn’t look back. If those who chose to stay behind didn’t come, then that was their decision. Not long after Zachery went down bellow into the catacombs, the demon from before started to claw at the locked church doors with it’s multiple hands. The slow scratches started to turn into angered lashes, it’s claws digging deeper into the door as it started to blister. Gurgling and groans coming from it as it tore at the door, breaking holes in the wood.
There was silence and it seemed to retreat. Had it given up? Or was it receiving help? Was it cunning enough to just be trying to frighten them? Another low growling came from the door, the sounds of screeching of metal echoed inside. It was dragging the barbwire against the sidewalk as it returned. It used its powers to escort the barbwire into the holes and into the church. Hundreds of threads spreading within and grabbing onto whatever it could take hold off. Making webs of barbwire across the back half of the church. Barbwire caught around benches and statues and anything else it could reach.

Veronica and Johnny wasted no time in following the rest of the group to the catacombs. With Veronica inside, Johnny jumped in and closed the latch as he did.
Veronica motioned towards Syl and Zachery. "This way...", she murmured as she led them down the catacombs. Turning back to Syl, Veronica added, "Don't you remember the time we came down these parts.".
Johnny followed close behind, looking at all the drawings that were made by Sara, the daughter of the Priestess Veronica had told them about. There was something else aside the drawings that showed their arrival, but there were new drawings, fresh pictures and perfectly detailed, that depicted this very group...
"Hey, you guys might want to take a look at this.".

The two Houndtracker demons that Asri had summoned continued to fight the ink demons as they flooded the church, clawing at the doors. They managed to keep a good chunk them from even reaching the door, but they would only delaying the inevitable. The numbers of the ink demons were just too much.
Master, master, master...
Asri gasped and groaned, as their chant flooded his mind. They were slowly accumulating injuries... slowly... They woouldn't last forever... sometime those scratches would deepen into full fledged wounds, which would destroy their bodies, but not their spirits. Their spirits would return to his body, ready to be relased once more...
Deep down in the catacombs, Asri had almost collapsed from bloodloss. A trail of blood followed him wherever he went, spawning demons in his wake. He didn't have the strength to attempt to cancel the summoning... so the blood demons, both strong and weak, slowly surrounding him, clung him, whispered in his ear.
"Master, master, master, master..."
"SHUT UP!" shrieked Asri, "STOP IT!"
Sobbing, pushing away the cold imps away from his shoulders, he stepped deeper into the catacombs, blood dripping onto the ground, summoning more demons... dammit! Whenever he attempted to banadge his wrist, the blood kept gushing out of his wrists. The demons were spawning uncontrollably, and they were following with, continuing with their chanting. They came in all shapes and sizes, some very human-like, others true monsters befitting humanity's worst nightmares. Their twisted, disfigured forms writhing and dragging themselves along behind him.
I can't let the others find me like this! He thought to himself.
Yet, he knew that Syl would eventually find him.

Syl went from serious to wide eyed and innocent when it saw the murals. It ran up to them, grinning, laughing.
"Wow, really Veronica?!"
It giggled and looked at them like a little boy who had just gotten his first toy car, eyes wide with wonder and innocence. It ran around the immediate area, looking at each of the murals, oohing and aahing at each of them. It grinned widely, as it stopped in front of one particular mural, as it brushed a lock of long black hair away from its face.
"Look! Veronica! This one has me on it!"
The long dark hair, androgynous features and red eyes were unmistakable. Syl was dressed in red, but in a long, beautiful flowing asian-style outfit, with wide sleeves and long flowing fecies of black and purple fabric tied at its waist as a sash. It was the very same outfit that Kiel picked out for it and enchanted the other day, as another of its 'birthday presents,' never mind the fact that all three of them had long lost track of their birthdays. They just picked a random way in the season that they were born or created and went with that.
Not even bothering to pay attention to the strange and symbolic background behind it, Syl pointed at the mural, grinning.
"Whoever did this has special powers!" said Syl, giggling, apparently not realizing what it was pointing at, "that's the same outfit that Kiel just recently picked out for me! Isn't it adorable?!"
