Mr. Psycho started to laugh hysterically as he watched the clowns go at it, it was very amusing. Then they started to speak in old English accents, like real gentlemen should and always do. “Waes-hael! For Lord and Dame O! Merry be their Dole; drink-hael! In Jesu's name and fill the tawny bowl.” He yelled back at the clowns, but what Mr. Psycho really wanted to know was who would be J-Babes killer. “How far away is V-sugar from having you? A week? Because that means you only have a week to live Johnny… We better get some hookers!!!” He shouted excitedly, but behind all this chaos and nonsense Mr. Psycho was thinking very carefully who was going to take Johnny out…

Syl hugged him, grinning. While it was only a day or two since it last saw Kure, it truly felt like forever. Syl didn’t have any visual memory of their past; only bits and pieces of information, such as the fact that they were once very close… to the point where Syl could have sworn that it loved him. Well, looks like it happened all over again. It loved him even now; among its friends, he was the one that it wanted to be with most now. He was seemingly vulnerable, urging Syl to protect him until he could protect them. Naturally, protecting him physically would be difficult, but it had ways around that – defence.
Even so, Syl felt happy when Kure kissed it, and in return, it kissed him back. Even if Kure couldn’t remember it, it believed in him. Someday, he would remember, someday… they would be able to go on those adventures just like they used to. Syl didn’t know the details, just that they spent a lot of time together in past exploring, having fun and exploring. It was a shame that it had no visual memory of it... only bits and pieces of knowledge, but if that was what it had, that was what Syl would deal with. It was better than forgetting him completely.
“I’m so glad!” it said to him, “I’ve wanted to see you again, and without the nasty distractions that proliferate this city… Where would you like to go now? There’s still so much of the city left to explore!”

Glad to be moving, Chrystabelle smiled, clutching her wagon's handle as she considered Veronica's question. "It's certainly different from home, but I like to think that I'm doing alright. Some days are a bit harder than others, I admit," she remarked thoughtfully. "What about you, miss?" She asked, glancing at the woman's stomach. "Is it nice being pregnant?" She paused, feeling a tug at the back of her mind. It always seemed to happen when she failed to realize she was missing something, so it was always associated with a sense of dread. She turned to her wagon, where her bulging book bag sat innocuously, though unzipped for some reason. She quickly grabbed it and dumped the contents out, hands sifting throughout the books and personal supplies. After a moment or so of frantic searching, she realized what was missing.
"Oh no," she groaned, hastily stuffing everything back into the bag. The Joys of Childbirth, a book she'd found in the day before in the medical section of the library, was gone. She knew she'd had it with her when she'd left the library in the morning, but with her unzipped bag it was highly likely to have fallen out somewhere along her walk. She simultaneously sighed and grinned, amused by her own careless. "Ms. Veronica, I seem to have lost something. I'll catch up with you later, alright?" Wary of wasting time, she gripped her wagon and began walking back in the direction from which she came.
Though she walked at a relatively slow pace, she unconsciously used many time skips along the way. For her, they were as natural as breathing, though she knew she must look strange to others because of how she seemed to teleport from place to place. She kept her eyes peeled to the ground, determined to find the book. She was positive it would still be wherever it had fallen, for no mindless would have bothered to pick it up. After a few blocks, she did spot the book laying alone on the sidewalk. She ran towards it gleefully, letting out a loud whoop of victory when it was safely cradled in her hands. She was grateful that it hadn't been lost forever, because she hadn't started reading yet. She'd been very interested in the whole subject of reproduction after reading about conception in a biology text, and was hopeful that it'd answer the many questions she'd asked herself about childbirth. Standing in the middle of the sidewalk, she opened the book and began flipping through the pages, engrossed in the many pictures.

Solace found the people around her absolutely intriguing. She had never numerous numbers of foreigners settling in one plain, even more becoming residents to the new land was to her, a new concept. It seemed unusual for people to leave their homeland, the place they were raised to love, especially since her home was everything to her. It was all she needed, truth to be told. This was her first outing alone and away.
A normal day for her consisted of being in an open and ostentatious throne room. The walls were decorated with expensive artwork and shelves with antiquities. The throne itself was in the center of the room and faced the courtyard which was enclosed by a glass roof. This was her favorite room in the house and she had spent most of her time there.
It was only in rare occasions that guests would arrive, they would ask for her even as a child for mostly one reason: to grant wishes for a trade. People from different backgrounds would come, asking for many things: love, power, riches or even just food to eat. She would grant the wishes for a price. Solace did not understand the immense power she had in her fingertips; all she knew was she was not allowed to grant without a trade. Thats what the Kayadencima said. It was her bible and a code she had to follow. Kayadencima was divided into three sections: The Kayakizomina, Sakiromi, and Zathauria. A normal routine for her consisted of studying all of the three parts.
First was the Kayakizomina.
Waking up early she would clean herself wearing only a white robe. She walked to the garden, taking each breath as if she was in the high mountains of Tibet where breathing was a encumbrance.
In the garden she met her trainer, a magician. Under the arts of Kayakizomina she learned to channel her force and earth's energy into her body allowing her to fight and sustain herelf.
Next was the Sakiromi.
She would move into a dark room, where she met a holy man. The darkness was supposed to help her concentration and channeling of energies at night and mental strength for her the Kaydence clan had a tendency of fearing night.
The Sakiromi in essence, was her philosophy on living life. The Sakiromi itself was divided into five parts: Holy, just, love, courage, and strength. The Sakiromi taught her to chanel her energies to calm herself and to be one with the universe, it allowed her to enhance her abilities.
Then she would end her day with Zathuria.
This took place in the throne room were her parents waited for her and it was here they taught her the way of Zathuria. It enabled her to combine all she had leared into one entinity that in time she would discover what.
But that was all in the past now, and all of her past embodied one book she carried--the Kayadencima. Solace sighed at the realization of that. Moving on, she trotted forward were she saw a new being approach the group. Solace decided to greet her.
"Hello, I am Solace," she said.

Aphrodina smiled at the new comer, she seemed to be a pleasant girl and maybe someone lost as well.
"Hello Solace, I am Effy. Would you like to tag along and meet the others?" Aprhodina said as she gestured Solace to follow her.

"Veronica's just a couple months into pregnancy.", Johnny replied to Mr. Psycho as he smiled at Sara. "Guess I'm gonna be around you longer."
<***>
"It has its ups and downs.", Veronica replied to Chrystabelle. "But the excitement of having a child seems to even up the swings.".
"Ms. Veronica, I seem to have lost something. I'll catch up with you later, alright?"
Veronica nodded in kind and as Chrystabelle walked away, she replied, "Alright. Take care.".
Up the street, Veronica had noticed the group gathered. "Anybody care to trouble my with filling me in?".
<***>
"It's all just a matter of time. From a child being born, and the taking of a life." "Not for you, its not...", Gaudi murmured as he struck the preying demon on the head. "Not for you, its not.".
Guadi knelt before the rouge demon and searched the man's pockets... He kept it somewhere around here. Finally, at long last, here it was! Gaudi took a pack of cigarette's from the demon's blazer, stuck a stick between his lips, and lit it.
Holding the cigarette between his lips as he took in a deep drag, Gaudi opened up a portal and kicked the weakened demon inside it. Pulling the cigarette away from his lips, he puffed clouds of smoke as he said with that winning grin of his, "What a shame. A triumphant return foiled by my own act of will. Look at you, you once controlled this realm; this piece of the universe, and look at you now..."
After disposing the demon in the portal, Gaudi casually took to the streets. He wandered away from most until he finally found who he was looking for... That girl the demon was watching earlier... Chrystabelle.
"A reader, are you not?", He asked her.

Chrystabelle was startled by the new arrival on the street, nearly dropping her book in surprise. "Hello, I didn't see you there," she greeted kindly, expression changing from mild confusion to her normal cheerful smile. "I'll admit that I was never much of a reader before, but so far it has become my new found passion in life. Besides performing, of course," she added, chuckling slightly. She realized that she hadn't done any kind of performing in quite a while, which was completely unthinkable for her. It was a bit disconcerting, to tell the truth. She wasn't sure if she liked the changes in herself that had come with her new lifestyle. After a moment of contemplating, she remembered that she was in the middle of a conversation, and scolded herself for always zoning out like that.
"And you're a...smoker?" She offered, taking in his appearance. She was very pleased to meet another non-mindless resident of Animus, regardless of what he may be doing to his lungs. "Who are you, sir?"

Gaudi flicked the cigarette off his hand as he blew out a thick cloud of smoke, replying, "My name is Gaudencio.". He paused for a slight bow and smile as he added, "But please, call me Gaudi.".
Gaudi motioned himself closer to Chrystabelle, extending his hand, he asked, "And you are?".

Chrystabelle grinned, impressed by his courtesy. She rarely ever saw a lot of bowing or curtsying here in Animus, though if you failed to do so back in her world, it was considered a grave insult. She took his hand and shook it, making sure her grip was firm, something she'd read in a book about etiquette and first impressions. "I'm Chrystabelle, Chrys for short. Are you new to Animus, sir, or am I mistaken? I don't think I've ever seen you before, though I admit I don't go out as much as I should...not to say I'm antisocial or anything! I just enjoy the library a lot." She laughed, shaking her head slightly. "I'm talking too much, I apologize."

"No, you need not apologize.", Gaudi replied to her. "I am no stranger to this city. I have been here for many years now. I just chose not to draw attention to myself."
Gaudi turned away from her and lit another cigarette. It was crucial to him that she did not see him like this, weak. "So tell me, please, how long have you been in this city and what do you know?", he asked, kindly.

Chrystabelle bit her lip thoughtfully, considering the question. She really had not been keeping track very well, though she should. "About a month, maybe a a month in a half at the most," she answered. She was admittedly puzzled by the second question, not quite sure what kind of answer the man was looking for. "I suppose I don't know much of anything, to tell the truth. I haven't come across a history of Animus in the library, though that would be marvelous, don't you think?" Hoping to give an adequate answer, Chrystabelle focused very deeply on everything she remembered being told about in Animus. It wasn't much.
"Animus is a separate plane of existence, and a hotel was bombed a couple of weeks ago," she finally concluding, hoping the answer would satisfy Gaudi.

Mr. Psycho’s smile widened, it gleamed with sick pleasure. He knew it was time to take action; he did not have a second to spare. For today was the day it all came together, he had been waiting for this. He could sense something deeply powerful about the child, and he was going to have it no matter what. No one could stop him, and soon no one would be able to. It was his time to shine! “I’m sorry to burst your little bubble champ,” Mr. Psycho said to Johnny, the tone in his voice mimicked that of a sadistic serial killer “But your futuristic family reunion will be cut short…” He said then he started to hysterically laugh; he looked Johnny deep in the eyes, telling him exactly what he was going to do. Mr. Psycho then grabbed Sara; he cradled her then ran as fast as he could, he sprinted so quickly a dust trial was left behind him. He turned around so Johnny could see both of them leaving him, but he kept up his exact speed even though he was running backwards. “Say goodbye to daddy!” Mr. Psycho screamed in between hysterical laughs, he waved mockingly at Johnny. Then suddenly a purple light exploded within Mr. Psycho, and he had vanished completely, with Sara. There was absolutely no evidence of where he went. But his sickening laughter hung in the air like a guilty conscience.

Viscum and Maz watched as Psycho vanished with Sara, knowing full well that whatever happened next would be bad for them all. Maz turned to Johnny, notable anger in his eyes.
"Dammit Johnny, you should have known not to trust that psychopathic bastard!" Maz shouted, an anger as of yet not seen by the residents from him. "She wasn't even meant to be here, not in this time, and now she's been taken to go knows where."
"We need to get her back," Viscum spoke calmly, trying to formulate a plan. "And I don't just mean from Psycho, we need to get her back to her own time, before something happens that we can't reverse."

The two clowns were nervous. With Mr. Psycho gone with Sara, they couldn't help but feel that they would be left to the greedy hands of the angry mob starting to form.
"I think we should just run Happy." Tommy whispered "We can take 'em Tommy! Just keep your head!" Looking at eachother they both decided to run, Tommy jumped on Mr. Happy's shoulders and Mr. Happy bolted off, Tommy bouncing along behind him. "W're coming Mr. Psycho!" They both screamed, laughing insanely.
Tommy had no idea where Mr. Psycho would have gone with Sara but he trusted that maybe, just maybe Mr. Happy would be able to get an insight to how he thinks, being Mr. Psycho and all..

Veronica had caught a glimpse of Mr. Psycho running off with a child in his arms. She stood there in utter confusion for a moment, as Tommy and dear God, another clown, followed after him.
With her eyebrows mirroring the concern within her, Veronica approached the group and found Johnny in exact same shock she was in.
"What happened?", Veronica asked.
Johnny didn't look at her, he just kept his eyes on the road where Mr. Psycho and clowns disappeared to with Sara. "Roth, they took her... She was right here.".
Veronica ran to Johnny and placed her hands on his shoulders as she asked, "Who? Who was that girl? Where did they take her?".
Johnny looked Veronica right in the eye as he murmured, "That little girl was our daughter. Our baby, unborn inside you... She was right here, and I let her go.".
Veronica's jaw dropped as she fought with her sudden wave of emotions, trying hard, to mount something to say... There was nothing she could say, her wordless murmurs were enough. Inside her, she felt the child kick.
<***>
Gaudencio stood before the girl, Chrystabelle. Her naivety amused him; he could use her.
"It seems you know enough.", Gaudencio said to her. "This city has a scorned past that has been lost through the ages. No books survive that could hold a candle to the glory this city once was. I am no stranger, I have been here since the day I was born, and I have not left since. I saw this city when it was a normal metropolis. I saw this city and the forces that controlled it, and no matter what I said or did, nobody believed me. They were fooled and lied to by that wicked Priestess. She claimed to be the barer of the light, she had her promises, and do you know what happened to her? She lost her life and her daughter on that very spot you know stand over.
I was there, and even though it pained me to see someone that I had once loved and admire burn before the very fires she kept the city away from. She was a naive deviant who only looked after herself and that child of hers... And from my understanding, I see that she has returned. I don't know how and I don't know why, but she is here, and her child grows once again with in her."
A tear fell down Gaudencio's eyes as he motioned himself closer to Chrystabelle with an open hand. "You must understand that your friends are being deceived... Decieved as I was so many decades ago. I come to you and your pure heart to implore my offering to stop all this before much a hell much worse than this befalls this city."
