The sky gradually becomes consumed by a black cloud; it smothers every single shard of light in Animus. Then a dark purple lightning bolt explodes out of the air and shatters the ground, the air echoes with laughter. The laughter that screams complete and utter insanity, the laughter that has seen the true face of horror, the laughter that belongs to Mr. Psycho. The dust clears from where the lightning bolt hit, standing where it landed is Mr. Psycho and Sara. “Thank you for that Sara, you and I will make this mind-numbing place a little more thrilling!” He screams, as he tenderly picks up Sara and places her on his shoulders; his sharp teeth vomit wickedness everywhere he goes. He slowly reaches into his pocket, and pulls out his Machine; it hums with extreme power as it glows. Mr. Psycho aims it at a nearby building, a multi-colored blast erupts from his machine, and the sound of screaming souls is heard as the machine shoots out its mysterious ray. When the object finally stops, the building is no more, in its place stands a circus tent. “That’s a huge improvement already!!” His laughter smashes the sound barrier; he then aims his newly powered machine in the air. A huge deathly ray smashes out of it. It spreads throughout Animus, changing every building into hideously colorful circus tents, which are filled with terror. The mindless are also caught within the blast, they now wear polka dotted overalls. Their faces have been replaced with smiles that rip all the way up to their ears, and they jitter around uncomfortably. Mr. Psycho’s eyes are filled with power and destruction; he suddenly leaps into the air and flies through it until he lands on top of a massive circus tent. He smiles sadistically at what he has created. The view of which he sees is that of a disturbing carnival, a carnival that destroys the innocent and congratulates the wicked. “Now Sara,” He says as he looks over his masterpiece, “Don’t you absolutely love your new home? And if we manage it right, it can stay like this happy forever!!” He yells, he then blinks and purple dust fills the air where Mr. Psycho and Sara were standing. Suddenly they appear inside a tent, the tent has hundreds of Televisions inside of it, all of them showing a section of Animus, he gently places Sara on a nearby chair, a chair suited for a queen. “Here you can watch your daddy and mommy in a movie! It’s about them and a few friends playing in a circus! Isn’t that interesting?!” He yells uncontrollably “I’ll be back sweet heart, don’t you worry your beautiful face…” He spins on .his heel and walks towards a curtain; he opens it and struts into the next room. In the middle of the new room is a speaker, Mr. Psycho approaches it and speaks to it. Suddenly speakers all around Animus begin to sputter and cough, and then they all scream the same words, ear shatteringly loud. “WELCOME TO THE CIRCUS OF ANIMUS!!” These short words are followed by the monstrous laughter of Mr. Psycho.

Tommy was boucing up and down roughly on Mr. Happy's shoulders. "Where are we going?" Tommy shouted over the wind rushing past as they sped through the city. "My friend, we are going to find Mr. Psycho, we are going to support the cause!" Before Tommy could ask more into this, Mr. Happy had made a sharp turn, sprinting ever more into the heart of the city. Above Tommy could see the sky darkening, thunder was roaring. What has he done? Tommy asked himself. In the distance shapes started to take form, familiar shapes, carnival shapes. Mr. Happy ran full speed to the front gate and threw Tommy off his shoulders, hitting the ground with a loud thud. "This my friend is the cause.." Mr. Happy told Tommy, pointing in front of him his gaze leading up, up to the tall circus tents and the storms ravaging the skies above as if the gods themelves were at war. Tommy just sat there staring, he didn't say a word. Then a smile crept across his lips, he looked to Mr. Happy, looking up to him and in the light of the storm he was a true nightmare. That smile, a smile that seemed to threaten to rip your soul from you and feel nothing but joy out of your endless misery. "Well Tommy, shall we go inside and take a gander?" Mr. Happy extended his hand to Tommy, he grasped it and pulled himself up. Together they walked into the carnival. All around them were sick, twisted looking freak shows. All with smiles of endless pain. Then all around them at once sound speakers went off, “WELCOME TO THE CIRCUS OF ANIMUS!!” Ending with bone chilling laughter, it was Mr. Psycho. He had taken Animus city and turned into his own demented reality. Tommy couldn't help but think this was the end of the world for everyone else, and the start for himself. Mr. Happy walked along side him to the main tent annihilation slapped across his face.

“WELCOME TO THE CIRCUS OF ANIMUS!!”
"What the hell is that?", Veronica found herself muttering as the familiar voice of Mr. Pyscho spread through the city like a sonic shock. Her eyes fluttering, Veronica looked up at the sky and noticed the change as it engulfed the entire city; my God, it was a sight Veronica would have never conjured, even in her wildest of dreams... The skies filled with darkness so bleak that she saw when she closed her eyes was damn near identical. What light came through around her showed the decay of the buildings and streets melting before into... No, circus tents and carnival rides.
Veronica held her ground as she felt the warmth of Johnny's fingers within hers. "Where did 'Pyscho take Sara and what has he done?", Veronica muttered out.
<***>
Sara sat on the chair with her arms crossed and her legs folded beneath her; she had that pout on her face like she just wanted out.
In the monitor before her, she saw her parents. And for the first time in her little life, she had seen something that she had never seen before in her life: worry, fright, and terror; reflected, all at once, on her mother's face.
"Mommy!", the girl cried out.

On the flat top of a circus tent, which had once been a skyscraper, two figures stood watching the storm and the twisted buildings and freaks that so graciously graced the ground below. The tent towered above the ground, easily standing out among the other buildings, and give Kiel and Asri a nice view of the city, which was once a magnificent mix of ruins and proud buildings, now a twisted carnival filled with insane rides and circus tents and unbearably bright colours.
"Oh, lovely," said Kiel, laughing, "and here I thought that I was the only one with a shred of sanity here... figuratively speaking."
Asri sighed, putting a hand on his forehead, groaning.
"Seriously?!"
"It was getting a bit boring, honestly" said Kiel, "teaching and ordering around humans to do some construction work is harder than it looks."
Asri chuckled.
"Well, yes, they are human."
"As your soul is?"
"Shut it; I'm not sure how much humanity I have have left, because of you and that damned curse."
Both of them chuckled at it. Part of Kiel's secret 'business' was its employment of the soldiers from the invasion of that human-machine general, Mr. Big Man as Syl called him. Kiel used them to renovate, repair and rebuild certain buildings of Animus, as well as organizing them into little communities. It wasn't really their leader; they were more or less business partners. Kiel once mentioned to Asri that it would be building him another clinic and a larger greenhouse, but for what other reason why it was pursuing these other projects, Asri wasn't sure of. Kiel wasn't very chatty concerning the details of its projects; and he was completely fine with it. That was what made Kiel... Kiel... in all its secretive, back-up plan-making glory.
"Well, now that the city is like this, what do we do now?" asked Asri, "it's a complete freak show."
"Oh, that's easy," said Kiel, "The others can take care of themselves. We'll find Syl, get it somewhere safe and laugh as the others make fools of themselves."
Asri crossed his arms, smiling, as purple his hair blew in the wind. If it wasn't in a low ponytail, it might have obscured his vision.
"You're planning something aren't you?"
"A back-up plan, yes," said Kiel, smiling in return, "Syl's safety is our priority here. With Mr. Psycho as influential and insane as he is, I can expect this adventure to become really crazy really fast. Come now, it's not the first time we've dealt with a psychopath."
Asri frowned at Kiel, glancing at his bag, which leaned against his right leg. It was still stuffed with medical supplies, as well as some sugary drinks and candies in case Asri was low on energy and needed a quick boost. He just hoped that he wouldn't have to use them, as they were intended to be for emergencies.
"Don't make me recall No Name now," said Asri, "that woman... she..."
"I have no intention of doing so," said Kiel, "we've done enough to her and her kin."
"I just hope that she's not the reason why I haven't had a girlfriend in such a long while," said Asri, shaking his head. "women can be so troublesome sometimes. Although I've met one that's a real angel."
"Hmm?"
"Selice, the Angel of Silence," said Asri, "she doesn't know anything of me, so that's all good. We've become good friends by now. I just wonder where she is now."
Kiel smiled and patted him on the back, before slinging an arm over his shoulder reassuringly.
"Awww... does my dear brother here have a crush on someone?" it teased, chuckling, "and only after a few weeks? How cute... you're just like Syl!"
Asri shook his head. Selice dropped by as often as she could to the hospital, and they had a great deal of fun together, but... He knew that such a relationship was impossible. He was one of Nokolui's Plague bearers, and she could kill with a touch.
"Eh... we're friends, nothing more."
Kiel laughed.
"How cute. Just don't forget that you don't want to..."
"SHUT IT!" yelled Asri, "that love is in the past, and the person I loved is not here now! So until then, and after ensuring Syl's safety, maybe I can find the right woman, just as Syl had found its own love. That was back in the past though, so why don't you leave me alone in this?!"
Kiel gave him a smug smile.
"And who's going to be the one to console you because we all know that you have horrible luck with women? Being a gender-screwed man of faith must be hard..."
Asri's face turned red in anger as he twisted around and attempted to escape Kiel, but failed. As he attempted to throw off Kiel's arm, he lost his balance, tripped and ended up on his knees.
"It's your fault that I'm like this!" he hissed venemously, "I'm a freak, Kiel! It's a wonder how Heaven even accepted me as one of their lawyers! What kind of angel am I if I'm cursed like... like this?!"
Kiel knelt down beside him, and kissed him gently on the lips. Asri tensed, kissing Kiel back. After a few moments, Kiel pulled away, leaving Asri sitting on the roof, stunned, blushing, and unable to speak coherently. A tried and true tactic of shutting him up. And expressing its love for him.
"That's why I'm letting you take the role of public relations right now," said Kiel, standing up and walking to the edge of the roof, "My spies are watching the main group as we speak, as well as several other areas of interest, but I think that you should go follow them... get an insight as to how the residents cope with this, see what you can learn from them. I'll go check on Syl."
Asri stared at Kiel, as it flew grinned at him, leapt off the roof, and flew away.
"I love you, Asri."
Kiel's last words were like whispers in the wind, said so softly that he could barely hear them. Indeed, Kiel had a different idea of love... Asri was like a brother to it, hence why Kiel referred to him as such, even if they weren't directly related. Asri sat there, dazed, for a long while... stunned... he had Kiel's request to follow, but he didn't even know how to do it... what trouble...
Think, I have to find someway get the others to notice me... otherwise I'd be no better than one of Kiel's spies...
I think you're thinking too much. Perhaps you should let someone else of more refined tastes borrow your body for a bit... That'll certainly make things more interesting...
Hell no! You'd just make things into a catastrophe like last time.
That's what I was made for, my dear Asarek... come now... we all know that you're such a weakling that you can't even fight well. Let me savour the action...
No... I don't want the others to see you. You're the worst, you know... I'm an angel... Angels... aren't supposed to do this... to...
Once you remove the wings and prettiness, angels are really no better than the humans they serve, no better than dogs subsiervent to their Lord. They're just stuck up snobs as far as I'm concerned, and you were the same before I had shot you down and stripped you of most of your powers. Fun, no?
SHUT IT! I was not arrogant... I was just... trying to be normal... before you ruined it!
Haha... I can't wait for some action, and to hear you scream at me to stop... when our positions will be reversed. Isn't that delightful, Asri?
STOP IT, ALREADY!
Asri groaned as he sat up, tears beginning to stream down his eyes. Seriously, what was he going to do now? He had to rejoin the group, for Kiel, a task that he didn't want to do, but had to... Ah well... perhaps with a little rest, he might work up the nerve to assist the others. Perhaps...

“Alright, but first I want to talk to you about somet-” Kankure was cut off by the feel of rumbling. The tables turned into strange booths and the roof started to twist and groan. “Tch!” he picked up Syl and quickly ran out of the store as it turned into a tent. He looked up at the blue and orange colored tent, the store owner came outside on stilts wearing face paint and smiling uncomfortably. Kankure’s eyes widened as he looked around. Everywhere, the buildings were turned into tents, booths, and the people were all.. well.. freaks. “What kind of sick demented joke is this?” He mumbled. The sound of microphones screeched and then came the voice of Mr. Psycho. “Welcome to The Circus of Animus!” it ended in a shrill cackle.
“You’ve got to be kidding me. Well, I guess it was due time for me to be included in the fun.” of course, he was being sarcastic. “Let’s see if we can’t get to the bottom of this.” Kankure said, setting Syl down on its feet. “Are you alright?”
---------
Zachery had been walking the streets, trying out someone’s suggestion of a journal. But somehow, it didn’t make him feel better. He stopped his useless wandering when the city suddenly changed and the sound of Mr. P radiated by unseen speakers. He looked up at the sky and sighed. “I would have imagined a life of being trapped in a city a bit more reasonable.” He said, but a slight smile came to his lips. Perhaps he could have some fun after all instead of sulking around. He cracked his knuckles. “Lets ignite some excitement in this city.” He chuckled slightly and walked through the rows of tents, booths, and fun houses, passing few rides on the way. He came across the bottom of a rollercoaster, the car was empty as it was coming down from one of the hills. “Mm.. transportation.” Zachery muttered some words and a large ball of fire erupted in front of him. It flattened and spread out into a strange stair case. He ran up it and jumped onto the car, grabbing the security bar and kneeled on the front of it. Making his way towards the main tent.
“Tonight’s the night where the fireworks begin.” He stood up on the rollercoaster car, as he did, it burst in flames, it continuing on its track onwards toward the main tent where Mr. Psycho and Sara were currently. This was actually fairly fun so far, and it would be even greater if he got to fight someone. Zachery was actually looking forward to this, unknowingly shifting his emotions through something else. But, that was unknown right now, right now, he was focused on the main tent.

“WELCOME TO THE CIRCUS OF ANIMUS!!”
Fleur heard a strange familiar voice coming from the speaker box inside the cafe. The voice and eerie laughter that followed it sounded awfully familiar. She sat there, at the corner table, eyes on the rising steam from her latte, wondering.
"Could it be baldy?" She thought to herself, cupping both hands around her warm mug.
Her blue eys shot outside the shop's window and was surprised when she saw a squished painted face looking back at her. Fleur gasped and almost fell off her seat. It was a clown, with his face pressed against the glass window, as if trying to amuse Fleur or something.
Fleur cursed under her breath in french and got up. The clown backed away from the window. He saw short, with yellowish curly hair and a small red hat on top of his balding head. He stuck out his tongue at her like a little kid and ran off. When the clown left, it was only then that Fleur noticed the colourful parade taking place outside.
Immediately, she headed to the door and stepped out, her brows furrowed together, bewildered by what she was seeing. There was a band marching complete with girls twirling batons. It was raining colourful confettis as the clowns poured out of the streets.
Normally, Fleur liked parades, but there was something peculiar and retarded about this parade that sent chills down her spine.
Over the horizon, there were fireworks in the sky.
The Circus was in town...

As far as Johnny and Veronica were concerned, they were alone in this little nightmare. To Johnny, he just wasn't able to comprehend everything that was going on around him... That little girl... His baby girl... Sara... Girl wasn't supposed to be here. She was inside Veronica. She was still a little dream he'd think about every moment he'd light up a Marlboro and kick back. She was still a dream, damn it... She was just a dream. A dream that was taken away from him, damn it.
Johnny curled his arm around Veronica as they made their way through the horribly painted carnival that was once the city they called theirs.
Veronica reached her arm around Johnny's necktie and asked, "What are you thinking about?".
Johnny gazed down back at her and replied, "I don't know, Roth. I don't know.".
As they motioned their way down A. Gillespie, not far from where they stood when the circus began, Veronica and Johnny saw a marching band make their way down the street. A marching band comprised of horribly disfigured clowns. Ugly little beings born from the one that took their daughter.
Veronica spotted Fleur in the corner of her eye. Motioning off Johnny's hug, she wrapped her hand around his and hurriedly made her way to her. "Fluer!", Veronica called out.

"Fleur!"
She heard her name being called, this time she was certain who it was. She turned to see that it was Veronica. It's been ages since she last saw her. She started walking towards her, when suddenly she realized there was someone walking behind Veronica. A man.
"Johnny..." Fleur thought to herself, stopping at her tracks.
She hasn't seen him since the incident at the camp with the Red General. She wondered how he would react seeing her. The woman who held him captive and forced information out of him. She tricked him and used her powers.
Fleur immediately snapped out of her thoughts and hugged Veronica as soon as she's within reach.
"Bonsoir Veronica...Jonny...." She greeted with her accent. "How have you been?"

The moment Fleur touched Veronica's skin and wrapped her arms around her, Veronica sank into her arms and held her tight; fighting her urge to shed tears. Veronica didn't know what it was, but it didn't matter- just knowing that someone, someone she could relate to on the simplest human level, was here, was comforting.
Johnny couldn't understand the apprehension in Fleur's, but whatever it was she shrugged it off quick; reckoned the girl just needed space and all, after all, he was a prisoner.
"Hey Fleur.", Johnny replied with an earnest smile and a soft knock on the shoulder.

Mr. Psycho heard Sara yell out for her mother, he could tell she was upset. But he didn’t care; all he wanted was what she had. He was so close to getting what he had been planning for, if he had to kill the girl to get what he wanted then so be it. He approached Sara from behind, his lips twisted into a malicious grin, he scoops her up from the chair, his face inches away from hers, “I’ve got a little surprise for you cupcake!” He sings cheerfully, he struts to another room within the vast tent. He gently places Sara in a bright pink room; hideous toys stare at them as the two figures enter the room. All of the dolls eyes burn red with violence. “Sara meet The Grim Dollies…” Mr. Psycho waved his hand; suddenly all of the mutilated dolls stood up and walked towards Sara. All of their faces had been deformed and warped, but strangely they all smiled at Sara. “Hello little Sara lovely…” A doll in a blue dress rasps, its voice sounds like it swallowed a razor. All the dolls continue to stare at Sara, like they were trying to rip something away from her.

Fleur was slightly surprised when Johnny knocked her on her shoulder after greeting her. She wasn't used to men greeting women like that. Fleur wondered what else changed after World War 2 ended.
"Hello." She replied to Johnny with a smile.
Turning to Veronica this time, she gave her a warm smile as well. She could sense something with Veronica. Sadness.
"What's wrong?"

"Mr. Psycho took my daughter away before I could even meet her.", Veronica replied as she held on to Fleur. "It's a feeling I just can not out words to... Knowing that I have her growing inside me, and somehow, she found a way to reach me from a point somewhere in time, and I've lost her. Having her close, but knowing I lost her...".
Johnny motioned close to Veronica and ran her arm over her back and kissed her on the forehead. Whatever he was going through wasn't even close to what Veronica was feeling with those words she just mouthed. He wanted to tell her that it was gonna be alright, but he didn't know how.
<***>
Sara sat down before the dolls with nothing but a look of freight and terror etched over her face. The girl almost wanted to cry. Turning her head back to Mr. Psycho, she saw that smile on his face. For some reason, she felt as if she could see into him; as scary as the dolls were and how frightening the world had become, there was something about his eyes... Something past all the horror, it was something... It was something honest, earnest. It was like something in him actually cared.
Sara looked deeply into his eyes and nodded; she didn't want to offend the monster. Turning back towards the dolls, Sara reached for the one that spoke, regardless of how scary it was. Holding it in her hand, she did what she could to smile and began to braid the dolls hair.

"Daughter." The word echoed inside Fleur's head like church bells.
She was oblivious to the fact that she placed her hand over Veronica's belly, eyebrows furrowed, as she looked back at her and Johnny. Fleur wanted to open her mouth and ask if it's Johnny's, but figured it would be offensive. She felt a pang of guilt suddenly as the thought of Veronica carrying Johnny's child, sank in.
It was obvious that she liked Johnny even way back at camp. She even had plans of splitting Johnny and Veronica apart before. She never told anyone about how she felt though. Knowing that the guy she like is about to have a child, changes things.
All Fleur understood from Veronica, is that Mr.Psycho traveled to the future to kidnap their child. The same child she's carrying in her womb.
"We'll get her back. I promise." She assured her, holding her hand. "This insane parade, the clowns, the circus tent, this is all Mr.Psycho's fault, oui?"

Veronica looked back at her and nodded. She still couldn't understand what it was, but she trusted this woman. Motioning away, Veronica wiped the tears from her eyes and said, "I apologize for that. I just don't know what came over me.".
"We heard Mr. Psycho's voice.", Johnny said softly. "I'm sure their here.".
<***>
Even before hearing the city-wide announcement, Gaudi felt the change in the city. At first, it appeared rather odd; there was something quite amiss. And then, the changes happened: darkness fell before the city and it had seemed that everything around him turned into damned circus of some kind.
Motioning close to Chrystabelle, Gaudi covered her with his arms and said, "Something is not right. We must hurry to the fourth room in the motel. Perhaps, we can get right into what is causing all this.".
