"Aftermath"
I don't even know where to begin.
Should I start describing the rush I felt fighting the bat humanoid? And then end at how incredibly depressed I felt
when the dark winged angel left me?
I don't know.
I seem to have this ability to turn into....glass...
*Arqus paused writing as he racked his brain for a better term.*
"No. Not glass." He wrote down.
"Diamond." He finished, remembering the similar indestructible and physical qualities of the gem stone.
I can turn my entire body into diamond form at will. Or possibly, my ability is triggered when my body senses danger. It automatically shifts into organic diamond.
*A folded piece of paper dropped from one of his journal's pages. Arqus picked it up and unfolded it."
*It was a page from one of those ancient books from the library. It was a drawing of a cursed king from an old scandinavian folklore.*
*At the bottom it says: The Curse Of Helgardh.*
I remember this story.
King Asgard asked for invincibility and superhuman strength from the Nordic God Hel, ruler of Helgardh.
Hel granted the king's request. He gave the him the power to be indestructible. He can turn himself into a crystal that no man or god could destroy.
Because of this the king and his army won every battle they had with other kingdoms. He was able to manipulate his powers and was able to make his soldiers indestructible as well.
On the 300th day, Hel visited King Asgard and told him he came to take his powers away. Asgard, being selfish and power hungry begged the Nordic God of The Underworld not to. Hel agreed but it came with a price.
He asked King Asgard to let his beloved son Bremmen live inside his body. Asgard could keep the powers he bestowed, but in return, he would need to share his body with Bremmen.
The King accepted, thinking that it wouldnt be so bad. Before Hel left, he reminded Asgard, that he is not fully indestrutible, for he is still human.
*Arqus folded the paper again. He remembered what the other photo in the book depicted. He monstrous titan made of glistening diamond bathing in fire. His eyes red and menacing and an evil grin ran across his lips. At the bottom of the picture it says "Asgard possessed by Bremmen."*
"That can't be who I really am inside." Arqus wrote down. "I'm not that kind of monster."
