This Arqus seemed nice, but looks can be deceiving. Still, it wouldn't hurt to be nice in return.
Syl looked up, feigning the human tendency to look up when remembering things.
"Very recently," said Syl, "less than aday, I suppose. I found Veronica several hours after I woke up in this strange room with the #4 carved into the wall above it. What about you?"

"A week....I think." Arqus replied, rubbing his forehead with his left thumb.
He looked at Veronica. She was waiting for them at the steps of the creepy old church.
"We should probably join her."

Veronica waved them to come her way as she motioned inside the church. It appeared to be no different from the ones she would go to in her life. Veronica stopped. It was the first time she ever remembered something. There was something so hauntingly familiar.
Walking past the familiar portraits that each depicted episodes of Christ's life, she noticed that someone had etched out the savior's face. Blasphemy

"Of course," said Syl.
It bounded up the stairs three at a time. Quite easily too. it gave Arqus an awkward smile. Considering that he's not human, thought Syl, I think that I should stop calling him 'Mister.' Kiel said that 'miss' and 'mister' are only for humans.
"Arqus!" it called, "are you coming? There may be something fascinating in this church."

"This...." Arqus thought, watching Syl sprint with ease towards Veronica. "Whatever he is, is a show off."
He was definitely jealous.
He looked up at the sky to check on Myzrael. He was there, hovering above the church like a satellite. He wanted to thank him for what he did with the fountain. He wanted to tell him that it was wonderful. Then he thought, he must probably be shy to face him. Oh well.
"Arqus!" it called, "are you coming? There may be something fascinating in this church."
He marched towards Syl and Veronica, carefully touching the scar on his scalp caused by Bremmen.
"Yup." He told himself when he felt the symbol on his head. "It's definitely there."

Syl raised an eyebrow when he saw Arqus touch something on his head, as if it was a scar.
It rushed to Arqus's side, concerned.
"Ah, Arqus! Is that a scar you have there? Does it hurt? Do you need any anasthetics? Who gave it to you?"

Veronica waited for Arqus, Syl, and the rest to meet her inside. Standing in the center of the isle, Veronica closed her eyes and prayed, "Sister Madelene, I bring myself before. Watch over me during this trying time. I hold myself know whatever happens happens. Just as you, allow me to keep what faith in fate I have left. Amen."
... Where did that come from?

Arqus continued walking, a little surprised and annoyed when Syl started interrogating him.
"No. It's nothing." He said, pulling the hood of his white jacket over his head, eyebrows furrowed.
He entered the church and saw Veronica looking around. Arqus remembered his time with Myzrael here. They were here before, exploring, investigating. And now he's back, doing the same thing.
He saw the headless angel statues that outlined the inner sides of the church. It doesnt feel like church anymore. He sensed Syl behind him.

Syl followed Arqus into the church.
"Um... Arqus? You look at me as if you're jealous. Why?" asked Syl innocently, albeit a little awkwardly, "aren't all humans able to skip up steps like that?"
Syl paused, watching Arqus closely. At the moment, it ignored what was inside the church - it was focused on Arqus.
"I...I sincerely apologize if I upset or annoyed you in any way, Arqus," said Syl slowly, "I... I... I'm not very good at socializing. Please forgive me. I don't want to give the wrong impression."

Veronica turned back towards the door to find Arqus and Syl inside the church. Approaching them, she asked, "How far along are the others?"

"How far along are the others?"
"Myzrael's up there, flying above the church." Arqus coughed. "Fiona...she's around...i think."
"Please forgive me. I don't want to give the wrong impression."
Arqus didn't turn around to face Syl. He felt guilty for offending him. He was embarrassed. The last thing he wanted is to make him feel like crap.
"Damn it." He muttured under his breath, annoyed at himself for being overly jealous.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean..."
His words trailed off when he saw spots of blood on the floor, leading to the altar. He followed it.

Fiona slipped inside the church after the others, the moment she stepped inside, it felt like it was baring down on her, it was like she couldn't breath. Like she didn't belong in the church. Which didn't surprise her, she was a beast. A sigh escaped her lips as she kept away from the others, to search for whatever they were searching for. She'd noticed the 'it' being, but she wasn't going to say hi. She just didn't care.

"Arqus!"
Syl sprinted to catch up with Arqus, glancing around the church. It was certainely abandoned. Headless angels outlined the sides of a church. Some of the stained glass windows were broken. Everything was dusty and messy. much of the murals depicting Christian images were torn or faded. It had an eerie feeling about it. Syl didn't like abandoned buildings for this reason. Yet, for Arqus's sake, it decided to go on anyways.
It seems as though the church's last visitor was not fond of the Almighty, thought Syl, I think I'll follow Arqus and see what he finds.
Out of the corner of its eye, however, Syl suddenly saw a black-cloaked figure standing the shadows of the church. Its skin was pale - the same shade as Syl's, but its cloak was so concealing that it could only see the lower half of its face.
The face was young. When Syl tried to get a look at it, it realized that it was very weak. Its presence could barely be detected by Syl's senses. Syl turn to Arqus, wondering if it could see this cloaked figure.

"According to my research, the church was one of the town's central areas. I'm led to believe that there was once life, flourishing life, once grazed here, which can account for all the buildings we see. Now, taking history into consideration, there has to be something here."
Veronica walked behind the altar and gazed at the murals, when she noticed that the floor beneath her seemed hollow. "There's something here..."

"Veronica." Arqus called out, oblivious of Syl who was lagging behind him.
"Did you see this already?" He continued, following the trail of blood on the floor. By this time Veronica was already behind the altar.
Arqus looked over his shoulder to check on Syl. He was busy looking at something in the shadows.
"There's blood on the floor."
