Lain tried to calm her breathing in order to answer Syl. "Im...im.. allright.." She whispered, closing her eyes but when she did that, all she saw was blood and the scars on her back began to burn. Standing up, making sure not to look at Syl (she didn't want him to see the tears forming in her eyes.) "I'm just a bit tired.. thats all.." She forced her eyes to stay open, she was exhausted but couldn't bare to close her eyes again. Rubbing her eyes to pretend the tears were from being tired, she turned to Syl, smiling at him. "So how are you anyway?" she asked. Her head felt really clouded, gritting her teeth at the pain in her back she ruffled her hair and forced a smile back onto her lips. She was focusing all her energy on Syl, in a desperate attempt to stay awake. She let her mind wander for just a second.. Her eyesight began to falter, within moments everything went black.
Lain sat motionless cross legged, opposite Syl. Her eyes, vacant.

Every thought was a mess, he couldn't focus. He'd had that dream before, a long time ago, but back then Lain, DeAnne and Daemon hadn't been in it. He remembered the night that caused the dreams to start, more like memories recurring while he slept. Koehmah was Lain's mother, a very powerful woman. Yet she was struck down in seconds, by her own kin. He was unfortunately weak enough to be coerced into helping with the dreadful deed. But right now wasn't the time, or place to sift through his memories.
"Just.. A bad dream, sorry that i woke you." he whispered, kissing her forehead.
"I need to get up, sorry. I don't think i can sleep for a while after that." He murmured pushing himself out of bed, exiting the room and heading for the kitchen. Hopefully a drink of water would calm him down..

Syl eyes widened.
"You're... you're not alright, Lain... even a blind mole can see that. I'm fine... but please, tell me what's wrong! Maybe I can help!"
Syl touched her shoulder, looking concerned for her. This... wasn't right. Syl could see that. Lain was 'tired' as she put it... but... she was also... in pain. Syl didn't know what to do. It didn't have any healing powers that could work on a non-energy based being like her.
"Please, Lain," said Syl weakly, "I want to help... please tell me what's wrong!"

Her body was completely motionless, but her mind was active. ..... She was still surrounded by the darkness, unable to see anything around her. All she could think of to to was to move foreword, look for a way out. The darkness slowly faded away and she realized she was running, th scenery was a blur of green and brown. "Lain get behind the tree!" She heard a woman shout, she obliged. Peering out she saw the woman, she was tall with long honey locks. "Stay back, son!" She bellowed to the man that approached. "Try to stop me.." He hissed, his sword was drawn. She couldn't see anything that the woman was doing, her back was to her, but she could hear her speaking, only in a whisper. In seconds the man had thrusted his blade into the womans chest, Lain watched as she sunk to the ground. "MOTHER!" Lain shouted, mother? what was going on?. She raced over to the womans side, holding her close to her chest. "What should we do with her?" A familiar voice asked, Lain turned her head to identify the speaker. Ryker. The man brought up his sword and slashed Lain's back, Twice. She felt the blood ooze down her back, soaking the material of her dress. "It's time to finish this!" The man bellowed lifting the blade once again. Lain spun to face him, raised her hands and screamed. All she could hear after that were voices, millions of voices, but all speaking something she couldn't really understand. She watched as a huge gust of wind blew the man into a tree. Looking down at her hands, wisps of what look like smoke billowed around them. The whispers became louder as her body began to glow.. What was happening to her? Ryker watched in horror, she wished she could see what he saw. "Whats with her." He spluttered, his voice not hiding his fear. "Eridian, DAMN YOU MOTHER!" The man shouted, pushing himself up from the dent in the tree. "You may have killed me Xelloss, but i will never let you kill Elaindria." Her mothers voice lingered in the air. ... Lain's eyes snapped back, her face showed twisted pain. Looking at Syl, he was saying something but she couldn't catch it, thats when she realized a sound was deafening his words, her own screaming.

Ryker filled the glass with the clear liquid and smiled at it, just as he was about to drink a deafening scream penetrated his thoughts.

Syl winced as her scream pierced through the air. It's eyes widened even further - she was in pain - deep, deep pain. Syl didn't know what she was experiencing, but it knew that it was probably nothing good.
It tightened its grip on her shoulder.
"Miss Lain!" yelled Syl, now looking more desperate, "it's alright! Please calm down. I'm here for you. Miss Lain!"
It didn't want Lain to be hurt. Syl shook her gently, fervently hoping that she would stop screaming. Its only thoughts were how it could calm her down, and wondering if it was doing anythign wrong?
"Miss Lain!"

"Dammit!" Daemon shouted at the top of his lungs, breaking his pencils and stabbing them to the bed.
He looked down on what he had been drawing, it was mostly everyone in his life that played significance to him, fallen in the woods, they're coated with chocolate and blood--the only one standing was himself. He looked at all the dead bewildered and stunned. An expression filled with questions. Where was he to help? Why not him?--They go on and on.
This image was a symbol of these questions in his situation. He was absolutely lost with himself, it hurt him. He thought he was confident, wise and found-- after all about three-hundred years had occurred since he had his first woof at air. Wrong. Where did he stand? Was he an insignificant fish waiting to be eaten?
How could he be found? Was the real question. Maybe he could write a 'who am I essay' will help? (As if that will help given the time) ______________
DeAnne followed after Ryker to have a drink of champagne. DeAnne and Akira loved champagne. It was the first earthly drink they had ever tried. It reminded Akira of those memories, when she first glided down the street lost, yet mesmerized by beauty. To DeAnne it was tasty for no apparent reason. __________ Daemon sighed frustrated and left his work on the bed, he went downstairs and knocked on Lain's door, "hey Lainie, I am sorry...." When he went in he saw Lain in pain, he rushed to her side. "Lain? Whats wrong? Can I help?"

Ryker's mind went blank, instincts took over as he rushed to Lain's room, kneeling by her side, pulling her into his arms. "Lain whats wrong? whats going on?" "GET AWAY FROM ME!" She bellowed pushing at Ryker's face with her tiny hands. Ryker's face dropped, but as her hands were pressed to his face a burning sensation began. His eyes widened as he felt heat on his cheeks, within seconds it was unbearable. "WHAT THE FUCK!" he snarled, pushing himself away from her, touching his cheeks tenderly. He could feel the small burns starting to blister. "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO LAIN!" Getting up to leave the room, he noticed a small pool of blood around Lain, coming from her back. Lain stared at the blisters on his face, she fell silent staring at her hands in horror. "I..Im.. Sorry..." She spluttered. "Lain... Your scars.." He whispered. She almost forgot about the heat coming from her back and reached back awkwardly to touch it. Stinging under her nervous fingers, she began to cry and buried her face in her hands, Forgetting the blood on her fingers. "You helped kill her.." She whispered, between heavy sobs. He bit his lip, lowering his head. "I didn't me-" "Get out." She snapped.
Ryker turned slowly, where was he meant to go? He found himself in his room, staring at his bed. Why was she remembering now? after so long.. Ryker sat down, head in his hands, sighing. After two hundred years... surely he had made up for his sin, He was the one who cared for her all those years, nursing her back to health, teaching her.. "DAMNIT!" He roared, slamming his fist into the wall behind him.

DeAnne rushed to Ryker's room, "Hon, what was that about? Or should I keep out of it? I really want to help, I--" DeAnne said, she did not know what to say really. ______________________
Daemon stood there rather awkwardly, "What was that?" he asked, he did not really know what to say. He cared about Lain and hoped she was OK, but this was something he had not seen from her.

Ryker strode over to DeAnne and buried his head in her hear. "I have no idea whats gotten into her.." He whispered breathing heavily. Pulling away he ruffled his hair, wincing when it touched his blisters. "I... I don't know what to do.." Crawling back onto his bed he laid down and stared at the ceiling, he would have to wait for her to calm down before she would speak to him, what if she never calmed down? His brain throbbed, this was insane, he was so confused.
_______
Lain rocked back and forth, trying to calm herself. She desperately needed a hug but she was afraid. What had she done to Ryker? What if she did that to someone else.. Tears continued to stream down her cheeks. "I..I don't know.." She whimpered, attempting to stand but falling weakly to the floor. "I'm s-s-sorry" She sobbed clutching her shoulders, she was cold. The blood on her back was starting to dry, causing the dress to stick to the open wounds. Her skin was paler than usual, The re-opening of her scars caused her to loose a lot of blood, she began to shiver. "I'm so sorry.."

"Tell you what Lain, I will give you something good to drink, that might help," Daemon said making his way to the kitchen.
What was that about? Its none of my business, I shouldn't---but I am so curious. I--ah gah, forget it Daem, just get her the drink
He was in the kitchen and made her a fruity drink with a bit of alcohol to spice it up. Then headed back to Lain, "here Lainie, drink it. This might do the trick." ____________
DeAnne lay down beside Ryker, smiled at him, and gave him a hug, "I am sure she will be fine, you both will be fine. After all you care deeply about each other. A bond I think is not easily broken. Though, what do you think it is about? It seemed....maybe I shouldn't--I am sorry love."

Lain nodded gingerly, turning her attention to Syl she apologised. "Im sorry you had to see that.." She whispered, staring hard at the ground only lifting her gaze when she heard Daemon. "Thank you.." She said softly taking the drink. She quickly gulped it down, it made her insides warm, in a pleasent way. "I need to have a shower.. Daemon can you please help me walk there? I don't think i can stand.. And i might need help getting my dress unstuck.. I'ts okay if you don't want to help me with that but.. can you please just help me to the bathroom..? please.." Her words were becoming jumbled, she was utterly exhausted but deffinately needed to clean the wound, incase of infection.. "Thank you Syl for being so kind to me, You to Daemon." She managed a weak but genuine smile.
___________-
Ryker wrapped his arms gently around DeAnne, bringing her closer to him. "I think.. She might have been remembering something.." He said softly, closing his eyes and leant his head against Deanne's. She made him relax, Kissing her gently he sighed. "I'm sorry Dea.. Im just stressed out.." He was too afraid to sleep, he didn't want another memory, and he wanted to be able to hear if something went wrong with Lain..

Daemon nodded, he gave her a hand towards the bathroom. He was willing to help in all costs. "Lain, maybe I should stay and help you, you do not seem well at all," he said trying not to sound like a perverted psycho rapist. ________________________ "No problem love, just relax and rest. I am with you," she said, her voice sounded like the soothing waves of the ocean. She loved that she helped calm him down, she would do anything for Ryker at this point. She knew that eventually everything would be fine, though there was something in her wanting to discover more about herself. Where she belonged to other than the man she loved.

Lain walked ever so slowly to the bathroom, Leaning heavily on Daemon. She was a complete mess, but was trying desperately to cheer up. Everything she knew was turned upside down.. Ryker helped one of my brothers kill my mother? Well, he just stood there and let it happen. Why didn't he tell me? Why can't i remember anything else about back then? How long ago was it? How did i burn Ryker? What is wrong with me? So many questions floated about in her foggy mind and every inch of her body ached. "Can you please tear the back of the dress so i can peel it off..." "And i would really appreciate that.." Leaning on Daemon's chest, she began to breathe heavily. She refused to let herself faint, she was trying her best.
_____ Ryker nodded. He started to think about the old days, before he was coerced into helping Xelloss, but after her father had captured his bridle. He'd become really close with Lain, Her naivety was refreshing. She was so young back then, only a mere two centuries old, And it showed. He would always watch over Lain, even when it was not needed. He had often watched Koehmah teach Lain the ways of Eridian (At that point he didn't understand what it was.) Lain was the most gifted out of her siblings, in that way. She had vibrant green eyes back then, not the sad, tired pale blue that she wore now. After the night of the attempted takeover Lain had changed, She was like a zombie for a century after that, Ryker had to take her under his wing. Like his own child, that's why she was so childish. He hoped, deep down that maybe this recollection she had would help her find her old self. He missed Elaindria.

Daemon nodded and tore the back of her dress. He did his best to support her, making sure she would be fine. __________ DeAnne could not help her curiosity and was starting to fall asleep, "Ryk, what are you thinking about?"

Lain cautiously peeled the dress off her body, turning on the water, she used Daemon as leverage as she eased herself into the shower. She felt the tingling of the hot water on the sores, in a way it was refreshing. She watched the water change color as it raced down the drain, carrying her pain with it. In a way she felt a little bit stronger, sore, but stronger. Even though the sudden recall had frightened her, A few things in her mind had clicked back into place. Like meeting an old friend that you haven't seen for a very long time and being told their name. It wasn't a lot of progress, but it was better than none. Luckily the flashback hadn't hindered her excess optimism and she began to smile, a small smile. But they say good things come in small packages. Just like me. Clambering out of the shower, wobbled over to Daemon and bowed her head. "Thank you for all your help." She said gratefully, wrapped a towel around her and hobbled toward her room.
___________
"Just about the old days." He chuckled to himself. A feeling of peace washed over him as a familiar voice trickled into his mind. I'm really sorry Ryker, you are my dearest friend. Please forgive me. It whispered. I already have Lain, i already have.

"Mind to share, hon? I'd like a bedtime story," DeAnne said falling asleep on him, managing to keep herself awake. It was then that she realized she hardly knew anything about Ryker's past and she thought she should. _______ "Sure, anytime Lainie, I will be in my room if you need anything, feel free to come in anytime," he said smiling, trying not to show his embarrassment due to his 'natural nudity issues.'
