Veronica replied, "We... Well, in my case humans, are born with two definite dates: the date of the birth and the date of their death. If I die here, that's fine. Its the way it works and I am not one to control that. Remember Tracel, the concepts of religion and spirituality varies from person to person. You were an angel, surely you witnessed God's presence. Why all this?"
Johnny leaned over and whispered into Phoebe's ear and said, "Pretty heavy, huh?"

"You were an angel, surely you witnessed God's presence. Why all this?"
"That is exactly why I say this. God is not the presence you think he is Veronica. Just be aware of that."

"I'll be honest when I tell you that I was worried you'd say something like that. But then again, it doesn't take away what I think and feel about him.", Veronica replied. "Like it or not, the notion of him alone is comforting enough to a lot of people."

Syl hid behind Veronica as the new girl, Phoebe as she called herself, arrived. She looked like a nice girl, but her demeanor was a fair warning to steer clear of her... at least for now. Her aura, when analyzed, resembled that of a fire-wielding demon, although Syl was unsure of the specific type. They were all closely-related after all. Yet... it was strangely weak. Some human components were hidden underneath, leading Syl to conclude that she was part-fire demon, part human. It gazed at her impassively before attempting to hide itself from her view. It wasn't sure of anything, but Syl knew that it had to be wary of her.
As for Trace, Syl listened carefully. Apparently he had a chip on his shoulder about God, and Syl, while curious, knew better than to ask him about it. it decided to remain silent, and (attempt) to stay on Trace's good side by staying out of the discussion.
It wished Kiel were here, but no matter how much it glanced around the ruined church, its sibling had vanished. It was like a stone in Syl's stomach, a near-intolerable pain that it was barely able to mask effectively. It wanted to be with Kiel so badly, but it understood its sibling's need for secrecy. Syl sighed and watched Trace carefully, both verbally and in terms of body language, while being careful not to seem like it was staring.
I wonder what God's like, thought Syl, but I don't think that it's a good idea to ask Trace about that. I've never met Him, only His servants, white angels. Like Asarek, as Kiel told me.

Phoebe stepped away from Johnny, not liking him leaning close and whispering in her ear. "Why are they arguing? It's not even interesting. Bor.ing."

"Why are they arguing? It's not even interesting. Bor.ing."
Trace turned his head to the new girl. He had caught her name briefly. Pheobe he believed. She seemed most interesting, a lot more so that Veronica here.
"Exactly girl." Trace spoke, offering a handshake in the process.

Phoebe turned her attention to Trace, she studied him for a moment, then smirked at him.. Declining his handshake, she was hot to the touch, she didn't like anyone touching her. 'Fascinating."

Trace lowered his hand.
"A girl with some attitude. Very interesting."
Trace turned his head suddenly towards Syl who, while trying hard not to appear to be doing so, was most definitely staring.
"Can I help you?"

Syl looked at Trace right in the eyes.
"Depends," said Syl, "I merely find this topic very interesting, and I wish to know more, especially about this 'God' that you keep mentioning. However, I really do wish to know what really is the point of this argument, and why exactly does restoring a church irk you so much, more than just 'what it stands for' as you aptly put it. I'm only curious."
It glanced at the girl, Phoebe, as she called herself.
"And... of course, much like you, I find this girl quite interesting. You don't encounter this type of person particularly often... at least in this twisted place."

"Your a strange one kid. You've got little to no social skills, do you know that?"
He glanced back at Pheobe, before returning his glare at Syl, now with a grin on his face.
"And your never going to pick up any girls with those lame ass pick up lines."

Pheobe chuckled, highly amused. "Social skills is over rated."

Trace turned to Pheobe, a sarcastic look in his eye.
"Girl, you need to lighten up. Otherwise your never going to get laid," Trace laughed, and pointed a finger at Syl "and I think Syl over there has a crush on you."

Syl cocked its head, with a confused expression on its face.
"I dunno. For some reason people tend to look at me as if I'm wierd. Is there something wrong with me?"
"And your never going to pick up any girls with those lame ass pick up lines."
Syl cocked its head again, now even more confused.
"I'm confused. How do you 'get' girls? Do you obtain them from a store or a socializing location? Or do you hold hands and get drunk? Or do you corner them in dark alleyways? Do you procreate with them and... uh... fall in a state of extreme fondness for each other... Or do you...?"
Syl trailed on and on, with the same confused expression on its face. It listed many possibilities, but none of them anywhere near what Trace meant.
"... And, Trace... if I may ask, what's a 'lame-ass pick-up line?' Is it a line that picks up lame donkeys? I'm so confused."

Trace's expression turned into one of disbelief, followed by uncontrollable laughter.
"Are you serious Syl? Are you telling me you've never jumped a woman's bones before? Are you even equipped for that kind of stuff?"

Phoebe licked at her lips, she had no desire, or need to get laid. She could lighten up, but not in the way he meant.
She glanced to Syl, it was amusing. "Oooh, the pretty one needs a good roll in the sack."
