It was midnight, Akira was enjoying her shower, she focused on the water trickling at the surface of her skin. The bottle glowed a bright yellow, Akira smiled at it. Who knew a being like a soul could understand the importance of being one, it gave her much content. She had picked up the diary, her soul had left and read it earlier. It baffled Akira that a soul stubborn like DeAnne would want her to move on and see aspects of life Akira did not see.
Akira nodded to herself, maybe she should let some light dig into her, ruling herself with compassion to a limit was something she had learnt and this circumstance applied. Maybe she had been to heartless to some, such as Ryker, he is a charming fellow--she agreed with DeAnne, maybe she should let herself go and see the wonder of that man. So many people she had doubted; the world only filled with hate and cruelty, maybe she is wrong. Maybe there is some love and brightness left in this damned world. Maybe, just maybe.
And Maybe it was time to let go of Zane..... He would want this, would he? He always told her to be an optimist something she found difficult. He was a good man, too good for her. Maybe she should stop thinking this way---those memories, even fragments of it were worth it. She wanted to be bright again, there was a time she could recall, when she was with him: laughing all the time, thinking that the world had brought great promises to her and that only she can decide her fate. She desired it fervently. She wanted to learn to love again and see the world differently, see the world as Zane wanted her to see.
She caressed the bottle that contained the soul she once hated most, "I trust you, maybe you are right. Ryker seems.... .like someone worthy" Akira paused, "like Daemon in another sense, poor Daemon." ___________ Meanwhile, Daemon stirred in his bed suffering from a nightmare. Before bed, he drew another picture of a man with grey eyes and black hair looking down a manhole, he was wearing a business clerk uniform, his named tagged Leon.
Leon knew what he had to do, it was this or facing the 'WnW' and he did not want that. A bad beating was awful compared to slaughtering a couple of pregnant ladies---that was easy as long as they coughed up what he needed. After all, WnW were his only chance of survival, he was not born an upperclassman--no he was a slum-dog living in America. The brotherhood WnW provided him shelter and comfort as a child, for his parents had abandoned him. The brotherhood was his dilapidated and screwed form of a family. As long as they gave him a mission, he had to follow or punishment will dawn upon him (especially since he is still climbing the stairs to reach the top). Now it was time to think killer.
Leon looked at his watch, it was six am in the morning and he had twenty minutes to exectue his plan. He had closly watched Mrs. Whitecastle and had even disguesed as a worker in the firm she owned and it so happened that her son was one of the older peope in the gang.
He walked towards Mrs. Whitecastle, "may I help you, madam, I work in your frim" Leon said professionally and his smiled gleamed.
"You are a sweetie, Leon--" she said squinting to look at his name tag. Leon grinned and started assist her, no one was around. This was perfect and good for him, there was a manhole and he shoved her in, she had hit her head which made the blood gush out giving her severe trauma, lucky for Leon, Mrs. Whitecastle had carried a sharp switch blade loosely in her pocket which sprung projectile to the wall and stabbing her at the heart. Now she lay dead and the dead was done. ______ Daemon could not help but scream, he could see the image so clearly and see the emotionless killer, Leon stand-forth. Daemon had heard of gang banging but this seemed quite extreme, no one is condemned to such a fate. Daemon shook his head, he did not understand why he had these dreams so surreal yet vivid like a memory. He pushed himself out to bed and headed for the kitchen. He needed a cognac.

Lain perched on the windowsill, staring at the moon. It glowed eerily in the darkness, Someone had once compared her to the moon, Saying that no matter what she had the ability to shine through the darkness, the hurt, the hate. That she was pure, innocent. She tried to remember who had said that.. Was it Ryker? She pushed the window open to let the cool breeze in. She had grown a lot since her and Ryker had found themselves in Animus. She was at least 2inches taller, her hair had grown, and her shape was beginning to fill in, She no longer looked like a stick. Lain smiled at her thoughts, bringing her hair over to the side so that she could braid it. She was in pink pajamas and bunny slippers. She wanted to see her family again, she still couldn't remember much of her past, but she was getting small bits back, slowly. She was so lost in thought she didn't hear the first few knocks on the door. "Are you in there Lain?" Ryker's voice, muffled by the door. "Yes." Ryker eased the door open and saw her on the windowsill. "Whats up?" He asked, shutting the door and making his way over to her. "Nothing." She really wasn't in the mood for talking, even if it was the closest person to her. Ryker stood next to her, following her gaze up to the moon. She must be thinking.. He watched her silently as she finished her braid, still staring at the sky. For a split second he remembered how she used to be, but these days she was changing back, more and more everyday. She was starting to look like a young woman now, not a little girl. "How are you holding up?" "Average, I'll need to change soon. I haven't stayed in human form for this amount of time before." Lain nodded, not bothering to look at him, She should really take him out to the lake and change him, he needed a break. "Will i ever see my family again?" Ryker bit his lip. "No.." "Why not?" She whispered, barely audible. "Lain... They're....dead.." He replied, just as quietly. "Oh.." She could feel her eyes filling with tears, she felt really alone lately. She still hadn't made any progress with Eridian, which upset her even more. She was starting to feel like a failure. "I'm sorry.." Ryker moved closer to her and wiped her tears away with his thumb.

"What was coming over me, seriously. Who the hell is Leon? Why does he always seem to appear in my dreams, and if not him, the Winged Warrior? I need a break from this," Daemon muttered to himself, he shook his head and went back to bed. Maybe that would be a good idea. ___________ As Daemon went inside his room, Akira had finished her shower. She knew that she could not change herself on her own, she needed help. As much as she disagreed with herself to ask for help, it seemed the best move. She now was dressed in her nightgown, something she always liked to wear at home. It was quite 'breezy' considering Akira liked to feel liberated. In any case, it would not matter since she was only seeing Lain.
She walked out her room, taking deep breaths, reminding herself why she was doing this again--to learn how to breathe. She was now in front of Lain's door, she knocked twice and then entered. She was stunned but not surprised to see Ryker, for the first time in a long time, she had no idea what to do. She stood there like a black sheep, her mouth agape and her cheeks reddening. She realized on what a fool she looked like and tried to compose herself for a second.
"Lain, may I talk to you," she asked.

"Thank you for always being here for me 'Kerr.." She whispered. "I'd change the world for you if i could." He said smiling, patting her head. Lain looked at the door moments before DeAnne knocked, Ryker just watched her. Lain was getting better at that kind of thing, she had changed so much. DeAnne stepped into Lain's room, looking somewhat embarrassed. "Lain, may I talk to you," "Sure" She replied softly. what on earth would DeAnne Want to talk to me about? Lain thought, confused. "I'll catch up with you later, Lain." Ryker said smiling as he went to leave, giving DeAnne a small kiss on the cheek. Lain watched as he shut the door then turned her attention back to DeAnne. "Whats up Dea?" She asked cocking her head.

"Well, lets say I need advice and help, its just--- I want to see the light? I--guess I want to try to learn how to love again, I don't know? I guess I--want to be an optimist. You seem like the person to know this best, perhaps mentor me?" Akira said stuttering. All this was hard for her, every single thing.

Lain played with the end of her braid as she listened to what DeAnne had to say. Odd, DeAnne was definitely not one of the people Lain thought would come to her for advice. Well actually, she didn't expect anyone to come to her for advice. She smiled down at her legs. "Alright, I can try." She replied after DeAnne had finished. "Well.. The first thing you need to do is.. To love yourself. You need to be able to love yourself before you can ever love another. You need to be able to forgive yourself for everything that has gone wrong in you life and everything that you blame yourself for." She spoke softly, but with knowledge. Not many people saw this side of her, only because no one ever really tried to. "Well.. Thats how i do it.." Not that she had anyone to love.. She just knew.

"How do you do that? I mean, I don't know how to forgive myself. But I care for people, I love them more than other people would know, I just don't know how to make them see I care? I--"

"You need to realise what you did back then was okay because its in the past. If that didnt happen you wouldnt be who you are today. You need to come out of your shell." She replied simply, she wasn't sure if DeAnne would understand, but she couldnt think of a way to explain it..

"How do I do that? I will admit this to you, I feel like a nothing---a speck of dust going to be blowned away. No one apreciates me, sees me as evil when I can be good, somehow. I hate myself for who I am has caused me great unfairness and pain, thus, I being the reason for many deaths. I think, well-- I do not know, but I might love someone---I"

Lain sighed.. Why was explaining so difficult.. Lain never really was any good with words, more of an actions speak louder type, so doing this was extremely difficult for her. "Well you not a nothing Dea.. How can you say that? Isn't it obvious that everyone here cares for you? Why would we stay here if we didn't? Why would i be trying to help you if i didn't care about you? Ryker loves you.. You need to let yourself go.. Stop hiding.." Lain sighed and bit her lip. She was getting frustrated. Her inability to explain herself made her feel small and pathetic. You okay? Ryker's voice fluttered into her head. I wish i could explain myself better.. Just do your best Lain, That's all you can do..
"Just do your best.. You need to try for yourself.. Trust Ryker, He would never do anything to hurt you.." She whispered to DeAnne.

DeAnne sighed, Lain made sense, she was not able to fully grasp what Lain was saying but had an idea. This was harder than she thought. Though she knew many things, emotional quotients was not her forte. But maybe if Lain could show her, then that might be better, "what if you showed me? Make me see what you do, sort of an experiment?"

Lain's face went blank, Show her? How? "Um... I don't.. know... I just do it.. I wouldn't know how to show you... Sorry... " Just then Ryker walked back in. "All good?" He asked, running his fingers through his hair. "Kerr!" Lain jumped up and gave him a big hug. Ryker responded with a laugh ruffling her hair. "Don't be afraid to show emotion!" Lain shouted and rushed out of the room. Maybe they can experiment! Lain thought laughing.

DeAnne stood there, carrying a blank experssion on her face, unsure what to do. She knew that it would not be wise to leave the room, maybe this was part of Lain's lesson. She sat on Lain's bed, wondering and anticpating what would happen next. When she was fuesed with her soul, she kept the love she felt for people and certain goodwills, yet that seemed to blind her a bit, made her feel lost. She was one person with memories and feelings of two. She gazed at Ryker and smiled, she realized that maybe he could help her forget the past and move on. She sensed he had gone through a lot of hardships and pain.
"Hi Ryker," she said softly. _____________________ "Hi Leon," a cheery voice said, her honey locks fell on his face as she was on him, waking him up.
Leon opened his eyes slightly, "yeah Serina, what is it," he mumbled.
"Make me some food?"
Leon nodded and went to the kitchen----
Daemon had awaken in the kitchen cooking an omelet. He was rather puzzled by the thought, but cooked it anyway. As the days grew memories about this Leon guy started to fill in.

"Hey hun.." He replied, walking slowly over to her. Sitting down next to her, he placed his hand on her thigh and smiled. "Are you alright?"
_________
Lain ran silently around the house until her nose caught a delicious scent. She followed it to the kitchen. "Yum!" She shouted grinning at Daemon's back. He makes the best food.. "Daee can i have some please! I'm so hungry.." She pouted, patting her stomach.
