Syl stepped down from the church and silently followed the group. It trailed behind them with an impassive expression on its face, listening, watching, analyzing.
"This little baby is called Hellstorm, I think it'll do some damage to the Goat."
Syl gazed at that pistol. There was something about it that put it would of the realm of the ordinary. If that thing can harm the Black Goat, I can imagine what else it can harm, thought Syl, no doubt that Trace has some very good weapons at his disposal, and that's what makes him a threat...
It gazed at Johnny steadily, unsure of what group to join. It didn't really like Johnny... it would have to wait to see which group would be best to join.

"I'm with Johnny." Arqus spoke, following the group.
He figured, Johnny would be more concerned saving Veronica than plotting against the Black Goat. He personally wanted to save Veronica too.
Arqus proceeded at the back of the group. He stood there as shimmering particles of dust formed a constellation behind him. In an instant, a pair of angelic wings made of translucent diamond materialized on his back. They flapped and stretched majestically as the light from the sun reflected on them.
"I'll be watching your group from the sky." He advised. "That way, if I see anything out of the ordinary, I would be able to warn everyone."
He paused, his eyebrows starting to furrow again at the thought of Veronica missing.
"And If I see the Black Goat or Veronica, I'm surely gonna let you know."
With that, he slightly bent his legs and jumped forcefully upwards, as his wings started flapping. He started gaining altitude, until he ended up hovering above the city. Far enough to see what's up ahead the group, but also close enough to swoop down incase something comes up.

'Ill watch from the shadows. My vision is wider that way'.
V dissolved into the closest shadow.

Syl watched as everyone split up, while V disappeared into the shadows. It smiled.
"So hard to choose," said Syl to itself, "I guess I'll keep an eye on both groups."
Standing still, Syl concentrated and made a few quick gestures with its hands. Out of its aura and will formed two bird-like beings that glowed light blue.
These would be its eyes and ears for both groups. That way, if there was any trouble, Syl would be able to get there to help them... if they needed its help. It lifted its hands and the birds took flight. One of them followed Johnny's group, flying slowly and quietly behind Anya and Johnny. It was a small bird, so it would be able to hide quickly if something came up.
The other bird, which happened to be the same size, followed Syl as it trailed behind Trace. Considering that Trace had one companion and Johnny had two, Syl thought it was nice if it could balance it out. Besides, it didn't like Johnny that much and it didn't want to deal with Arqus right now. Its curiosity about Trace and Phoebe made Syl decide to follow them, albeit quietly and inconspicuously. The glowing bird flew above them, keeping an aerial lookout just like what Arqus was doing.
From there on, Syl would listen and watch. If necessary it would switch groups, but now it wanted to keep a low profile - watching and analyzing, but not acting or speaking unless it had to.

Trace could feel Syl following them. It seemed to be doing a good job of remaining inconspicuous, but Trace wasn't stupid, and he had kept a psychic tab on the others when they decided to split up. Trace needed to know if he was going to have any unwanted visitors. Trace stopped suddenly, and while he had holstered Hellstorm for the time being, he was quick enough to draw it and fire it before anyone knew he had moved.
"Syl, if we're going to be graced with your company," Trace said sarcastically, "then at least have the balls to actually be a part of this fine group." With the final words he shot a grin at Phoebe. She may not admit it, but he had a feeling he had piqued her interest.

Syl blinked and stared at Trace impassively, feeling and showing no emotion whatsoever.
"I detect sarcasm in your voice," said Syl quietly, as it walked slowly towards them, "but if that's your wish, I'll join in. Where are we heading?"
It watched as Trace shot a grin towards Phoebe. No doubt that it was because they had something in common - their love for chaos. Syl didn't really appreciate that, but it really wasn't in the mood for dealing with Johnny or Arqus. Not after what it said to Johnny, or what Arqus said to it.

Above Animus, Arqus was having difficulty flying.
"Damn it!" He cursed, wishing that no one below would see what's happening.
He was struggling to fly in a fix altitude. If he would spread his diamond wings wide open in a horizontal form, he would be blown further, above the clouds. If he kept them slightly bent on the joints, he would be losing altitude. Arqus would end up flying up and down as he moved forward, trying to keep up with Johnny's group.
"Need help?" He heard Bremmen ask, with a snort.
Arqus ignored him, determined not to ask anything from the demon.
Bremmen chuckled and advised, "Keep your wings pointed upwards, in a V shape behind your back, slightly bent on the joints, so you could flap if you wish to gain or lose altitude."
Arqus did as the demon told him. To his relief, it worked. He continued flapping until such time he was able to maintain his flight stance in the air. His long blonde hair glided gracefully.
"You need more flight practice." Bremmen noted. "Remind me to teach you when we're done saving Veronica. That way you wouldn't look like some chinese kite up in the air, struggling for balance. You look hilar-."
"THANK YOU BREMMEN." Arqus immediately interjected. He wanted him to shut up.
The demon chuckled again. Arqus ignored him. He needed to focus and watch the others below.

Johnny neared the motel as he looked back at Arqus and Anya and asked, "Anyone here know how to recite spells and incantations?"

"Where are we heading?"
"Not a clue. We dont know where the Goat hangs out when he's taking personal time, and I'm sure his time with Veronica is going to be plently personal." Trace said with a chuckle. "Any suggestions?"

Anya walked with Johnny in silence, keeping her senses alert, and barely keeping her panther under control. "I can't, sorry. I have limits. My powers are physical."
"Tch," Phoebe caught Trace's glance toward her, and his grin. That look definitely annoyed her, and she was tempted to blast flames at him. "This goat, thing. Is he a demon?" Her eyes lit up at that prospective. "I may have a way to find demons."

"Anyone here know how to recite spells and incantations?"
Arqus heard Johnny all the way up in the sky. He learned to filter out the noise around him and just focus on the groups conversation. It was a borrowed power ofcourse. Like all of his powers, it was Bremmen's.
He started to descend down to the ground where Johnny and Anya is. He recognized it from above, as the hotel they all woke up in. Gust of wind blew as he landed and walked towards them.
"I can't read or chant spells." Arqus told Johnny. "But Bremmen can."
His eyebrows furrowed at the thought of letting Bremmen out. He was willing to let the beast take over his body again, if it would result to saving Veronica.

Johnny looked back at him right as they stopped before the motel and asked, "Who's Bremman?"

Arqus gave himself a mental kick in the head when Johnny asked him. He was not aware of the demon inhabiting his body. He didn't have the time to tell him.
"He's the..." He started to say, looking for the right word to describe Bremmen.
He doesn't want Johnny to get shocked. He racked his brain for the right word.
"Spirit." Arqus muttered, finally. "Living inside my body. He's the source of my powers. He can help us find Veronica."

Syl cocked its head. It didn't know whether it should help Trace, but it knew that remaining silent wasn't going to do it much good. It sighed and decided to reply.
"It depends really," it said, "we could try room 4, but I think that Johnny's got that covered. There's also the crossroads and just about any location where it's easy for someone to hide in. I dunno... like sewers, basements, warehouses? He could be anywhere."

"I may have a way to find demons."
"I'm not even sure he is a demon. He may have some demonic blood in him I suppose, the things he can do."
"Any location where it's easy for someone to hide in... He could be anywhere."
"No," Trace said firmly, shaking his head. "The Goat isn't the type to hide. He's going to be somewhere comfortable, lavish. Somewhere he feels comfortable."
Trace turned to the others with a grin. "I think there's a large abandoned mansion on the outskirts of the city."
