The dark mahogany door was warped and chipped, barely sitting in it's frame. Elain wrinkled her nose at how the paint had peeled, exposing the once beautiful wood. Why anyone would want to cover it's beauty with hideous chemicals to change it's colour she had no idea, only that she hated it and it left her feeling disgusting. As she glared at it, she took a few steps back, raised her leg and launched it with so much force that she ripped it clear off it's hinges and smiled as it shot across the hallway, slamming into the far wall with a thump. She was furious, but no clue as to why, only that she couldn't remember the last time she felt this way. She had finally broken away from Ryker and completely severed their connection. She rubbed her wrist tenderly where the bridle used to be, it was covered in small leather burns, caused from the constant friction. As she made her way through this strange house in search for the kitchen, she began to plan out her next course of action. She knew that if she didn't try to figure out what she would do next she would be left standing lost and confused. Somehow she'd managed to navigate herself into the kitchen, it was obvious that this house had definitely seen better days. There was a broken table in the center of the room, it looked as if it had rotted, Elain sniffed the air. Yep, Definitely rotten, she thought as she stepped over the debris of broken chairs and other dining room implements. She ran her finger over the black granite counter, tracing the fine spidery cracks. She related to this counter, in the strangest of ways. She was a lot like this counter, from far away it looked perfect, unspoiled, But as soon as you got close enough to actually get to know it you could see the small, almost invisible cracks. It made her feel somewhat relieved, being able to relate to something. Even if it was an inanimate object. Averting her eyes from the counter she approached the sink and searched through the various cupboards. Grabbing her find she blew the dust out and wiped it on her dress, the dust easily sticking and spoiling the pure white of her dress. Holding the crystal glass up to the light she smiled, "Good as new.." She murmured as she filled it with cold water from the rusty tap.

Daemon spotted Lain from a far and went towards her, he was there and now stood smiling.
"Hey Kitten, what are you doing here?" He said.
Daemon could sense something different about Lain, she had anger and rage within herself. He cared about her genuinely but it has been difficult to do so because of her moods. He hardly saw her and spoke to her anymore, it felt as if their friendship was deteriorating.

Elain's grip tightened considerably on the small crystal glass, which she quickly loosened in fear that it would crumble. She would feel bad if she destroyed something so beautiful. "Hey Kitten, what are you doing here?" She could feel her anger start to simmer, what was he doing here? She had invaded this strange house as a means of escape. She wasn't expecting, nor did she want visitors. "Just scoping out a new house." She replied rather dully. It was obvious she wasn't putting much effort into this conversation. Why would she? It wasn't as if he cared that much about her. If he did why would he have just left like that, leaving her utterly alone in the midst of a family to be, that would never work out. How could he address her as Kitten? After all this time, the non-communication, he seemed to think it would be alright to continue calling her pet names? Elain attempted desperately to refrain from grinding her teeth, She didn't want to give him the pleasure of knowing he was able to rile her up. Elain turned to give him a sweet smile, that had a small hint of annoyance that was barely noticeable. "I could ask you the same thing Daemon." She gently placed the glass on the whithered counter, just In case she decided to throw it.

"Don't be like that, Lain. And I am here because I just so happened to bump into you. Just a coincidence. What has been going on with you lately? You are acting different" Daemon asked, hoping she would answer.

"Don't be like that, Lain. And I am here because I just so happened to bump into you. Just a coincidence. What has been going on with you lately? You are acting different" Elain shuffled her feet and yawned, this meeting was purely trivial, the only reason she decided to answer was to humor him. "Oh my gosh! A coincidence!? That's amazing Daemon! Nothing, you know just breaking into houses and drinking out of old glasses, that kind of thing! Oh really have i? I haven't noticed!" Lain exclaimed with fake enthusiasm. She was bored of his company. "See ya." She mumbled as she stomped past him, grinning slightly when she felt her hair whip him in the face. 'Stupid metal face...' She thought angrily, as she hurried out the door.

"You are acting rather 'tough' and if you despise me in any sense, at least own up to your words? Fight me elvin'!" Daemon roared.
He was tired of her act. He had not wronged her, heck, at times he was helping her. What had gone over her, a sweet thing turn bitter. Maybe she was PM-ing, unless elves didn't do that. The least she could do was showed that she didn't care, show that he was nothing. He would accept that gracefully but he needed to check if this was true. Was the friendship gone? Where they gone?

Elain stopped immediately, mid-step. His words rang in her mind. "You are acting rather 'tough' and if you despise me in any sense, at least own up to your words? Fight me Elvin'!" Elain shut her eyes, taking a deep breath as she tried to stop her laughter from bubbling up. "Fight you? Are you really that pathetic? You really want to fight a girl who is half your size?" She turned back to stare down the hallway. She vanished, reappearing moments later sitting cross legged on the cracked counter. She stared at Daemon, her eyes glowing, a small smile tugging at her lips. "I don't think i can really be bothered. You get angry to fast. What did Ryker once tell me? Oh yes, Get over it." Then she was gone. A few moments passed , then she was suddenly there, standing close to Daemon with her dagger pressed tightly against his throat, sliding it so slightly. She didn't flinch as the small cut began to bleed, instead she ran her thumb over it and it was as if she never touched him. "Like i said.." She whispered, her mouth close to his ear. "Ciao!" She was gone, the only sound that aided to the knowledge of her being there was the faint sound of slapping as her feet hit the concrete. She was beyond confused, she had actually caused damage to someone. The fact that she healed it straight away didn't matter. She actually found it in herself to harm another being. She was scared now, more scared than ever.

"I cannot believe you Lain... How dare you insult me, you are lost to me--" Daemon muttered loud enough for her to hear, "and to think I could have loved you," he said as he ran toward her, "Lain, I do not hit people I care for but you are not who I care for," he said slicing her with this scythe, enough to leave a scar but not to severely hurt her.
The emotion around him was sullen, grim, he could feel him break, the smashing and grinding of his mind and body. Emotion that triggered a revelation, a memory.
'Leon, why did you let her do that to me? I hate you, I can never forgive you. You are lost to me!' Serina said tears flowing, she on the floor injured.
"I couldn't do anything, I can only protect you to a certain degree. Your Father is not the only guy I made promises to, but your cousin's father too. I care about you Serina but I must help myself before anything. The deal was that I am not allowed to meddle with fights between you and your demoness of a cousin. I must stay true to that, you mus--- " Leon was inturupted by Serina.
"You are lost to me Leon! You lie, you love her don't you! AND TO THINK I LOVED YOU!"
Serina's heart filled with hate; Leon watched incredulous as she grabbed the dagger beside her and struck her heart. The dagger from hell left behind by her cousin. It was the dagger that trapped her soul into a bottle, laying her to rest and sleep. For Serina, it was best to stay pure and try not to make evil thought penetrate her. She needed to do this for herself. Leon felt it was his fault.
Daemon started to cringe. Tears started to form on his eyes. It was such a sad memory, Serina had died because of him---Leon, his past self. And now it would be the same in a similar sense, but it was Lain who was lost to him. She had a different aura embodied her, something not so bright and cheery.

Elain clutched her arm, healing it quickly. How she came to be kneeling on the ground she wasn't sure, but she could feel tears rolling down her cheeks. "and to think I could have loved you," His words were like a slap in the face, Elain's eyes were filled with a dark emptiness as she raised her head to stare at Daemon. "Don't kid yourself Daemon, You are incapable of love! No one would dare give you a feeling so pure.. YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW THE MEANING OF THE WORD! HOW DARE YOU SAY SUCH ARROGANT WORDS TO ME! YOU KNOW NOTHING DAEMON, AND I AM LOST TO YOU?? WHEN WAS I EVER "FOUND" TO YOU? WHEN DO YOU EVER THINK ABOUT ANYONE ELSE BESIDE YOUR OWN SELFISH GOALS? I HATE YOU DAEMON! I CAN'T FORGIVE YOU FOR LEAVING ME. YOU MAY NOT KNOW HOW FAR YOUR ACTIONS GO.... but you broke me... and to think.. i thought i loved you... I'm not lost to you Daemon, you never had me close enough to lose me. But you, Daemon. You are lost to me." She had screamed until her voice broke and came out in a mere whisper.

The tears came fluidly now, "I told you once and I will tell you again: I left because I cannot help you to the best I can if I cannot help myself. I am as lost as you are at this moment, I needed and need to find myself like you... only then I can bring you along. I enjoyed your company very much. But if thats how you feel, fine, so be it. I will leave you alone and will never come back until you call," he said.
He now, walking toward her, kissed her cheek then removed his trench leaving it behind with his shirt. He let his wings sprout and flew away. That was that, though he had to move forward, slow but step by step.
