"Somewhere around the city, I can only presume.", Veronica replied as she bit her nails, still staring out the window. "I'm getting worried though... They should have been here by now, I am starting to worry that something awful happened."

"Mm", Eem replied, looking around. "Where to now?"

"There's nowhere for us to go but wait for them.", Veronica said as she lit a cigarette. Turning away from the window, she trailed off and said, "Care to see what else this place has to offer?".

Trace watched as Syl and Klaire flew into the air. He was tired of flying, of all the open space. The voices of the dead that he was hearing in his head were worse now that they were out in the open. Trace placed his hand on the wall beside him and opened up the shadows. He walked into the shadows, the voices of the dead becoming silent as he blocked them out.

In the mall a shadow gateway opened in front of Veronica and Eminor. Several seconds passed, before Trace emerged from the shadows in front of them, just seconds after entering miles away.
"I don't care how you died," Trace spoke to the voices of the dead, having not yet noticed the two females. "Which means I dont need to hear everybody's death story over and over again. Your driving me insane!"
Trace looked ahead of him and finally noticed Veronica and Eminore. He grinned, willing the voices into silence as he approached them.
"Sorry about that," Trace told them, running a hand through his hair in the process. "I'm still getting the hang of this whole half alive, half dead thing. I don't believe we've met, I'm Trace." he said to the girl beside Veronica, offering a handshake.

Klaire shot off through the air, sticking close to Syl as he had commanded. As soon as they reached the mall, she lost her wings and dove through a window, growing bone armor to prevent killing herself with shards of glass. She landed on the ground with a resounding thump, and rose to her feet, the bone armor vanishing from around her.

Jake paced through the base uncertainly, trying to look normal, trying to look like he blended in. His Thompson was in hand, and his BAR was slung over his back with the katana he had arrived in Animus with.

Fleur marched out of her tent, heading towards the tent of the battalions. Her long blonde hair was pulled neatly behind her head in a bun. Her fitted knee length skirt was restricting her to walk faster.
She fixed her beret on her head as she entered the tent.
"It was a tragedy." Bremmen told the generals gathered around him. "Oh how I wish I could've done something to help the poor general. Now he's gone."
"He's not dead." Fleur said, standing behind the priest.
They all turned around surprised of her sudden appearance. Her face and voice looked and sounded like she was sure of what she was saying.
"General Payne is not dead." She spoke again, addressing the other generals. "I assure you gentlemen."
"I saw it with my own eyes, they killed him." Bremmen answered her, with one raised eyerbrow.
"Where's your proof, priest?"
"You mean besides the fact that he did not come back with us?" He asked.
The group erupted in an argument all of a sudden. Fleur and the others were talking about the possibility of the general being alive and injured, while the others believed the priest's accounts. Bremmen stood there, looking at them, disgusted with the humans. Fleur suggested that they send out a search party to look for General Payne.
"That won't be necessary." A familiar voice came from outside the tent.
To everyone's utter shock, The Red General walked in on them. He's got dirt all over his clothes and sweat on his handsome face.
"General." Everyone said in unison.
Bremmen couldn't believe it. He swore he saw Trace killed this man..or robot...or whatever he is. But now he's walking, breathing, talking like he just went out for a jog or something. Fleur approached the general and gave him a salute, he returned the salute and smiled at her.
"We were worried sir." She said, with a light french accent. "We were informed that you were killed during your encounter with the Nazis."
The Red General smiled at everyone, his eyes stopped at Bremmen. The demon swallowed hard, not able to look at the general straight in the eye.
"They thought they did." He said, both hands resting behind his back. "We are not dealing with ordinary people here generals. They are a group of powerful killers and we have to come up with a plan to eliminate them."
The generals nodded while Fleur stood behind the Red General. She was relieved that he was still alive.

Eminor raised an eyebrow at him. "Did you fall into a come as well or are you just insane?", she asked him, taking his hand, referring to her overhearing him talking to apparently noone. "Dual Identity Disorder? Schizophrenia?", she said, grinning at him. "I'm Eminor. Nice to meet you, Trace".

It was the sound of the Beatles "Here, There, Everywhere", that seemed to comfort Johnny as he trembled on the makeshift bed; half of his body barely leaning out.
He had heard some commotion outside. If he had more in him, he'd storm out and find out what was going on. Dammit.

Syl landed next to Klaire and looked at her in the eye. It saw how she had landed, which indicated to Syl that it had successfully canceled both spells it had placed on her previously, back when Daemon had died.
... Which reminded Syl that Daemon's scythe and cloak were still safely secured on its back, and it took solace in the fact that it was following his last wish... sort of. It would have to find the the time to give one of his possessions to Klaire, just as he had wished.
"Are you alright, miss Klaire?" it asked her (although it already knew the answer to that), "before we meet up with the others, there... is something I really want to tell you. Would you like to hear it?"

"I am certainly not insane, and I've no recollection of a coma, just thousands of disembodied dead voices floating around, none of which are very curteous. It's good to meet you too Eminor." Trace said with a grin, before looking at Veronica. "Where's Johnny Veronica? I thought he went with you?"

A soldier informed the generals that they managed to capture one of the enemies. He was believed to be the leader of the resistance and he was presently detained at one of the tents.
"I would like to see him." The Red General stated, as he started to walk out of the tent.
Fleur and Bremmen lagged behind him for different reasons. Fleur was concerned about the general's condition, seeing the exposed and sparking wires at the back of his head. While Bremmen wanted to see who the soldiers captured. He was somewhat certain though that it was Johnny.
"It would be hard to take Trace or Syl. They wouldnt be even to detain either of them." Bremmen thought as he followed the two officials.
He also wondered why Fleur was quite certain that the Red General's not dead. What secrets do they keep? Is he immortal?
The soldiers saw the 2 officers approaching. They immediately stopped the radio they were playing. They stood up and gave them a salute when they walked passed them.
"General, we could do this later, let me tend to your damages first." Fleur advised with concern in her voice and face. "My tent is not far from here, I could repair you in..."
The Red General stopped and turned to her. He didn't look mad or annoyed or anything. His handsome face looked caring and warm and soft when he looked at her.
"I want to see the prisoner. We can deal with my repairs later." He spoke in the kindest tone. He smiled at her.
The Red General pushed the tent's entrance cover and saw a man lying on a make shift bed, bleeding. He recognized it to be the man he fought at the police station.

"I'm fine, Syl," Klaire said, turning to face Syl. "I'm all ears, tell me whatever you need to tell me," she said, sitting down on a folding lawn chair. He folded her left leg over her right, and smiled.

Johnny pushed himself up as he heard the footsteps headed towards the tent. Still shaking, Johnny rose from the bed and noticed the Red General coming through. "We meet again...", he said.

"Oh, voices in the head, well that'd be schizophrenia, my friend"
"It's a little more complicated than that." Trace said, pulling out his gun and reloading it. "Better to be safe and all that. What do you mean missing, cause I've made enough trips to the afterlife for my liking."
