The History of Animus City,
as told by Its Right Hand.
Prolouge: From The Words of Trist...
IN THE BEGINNING…..
God created the heaven and earth. And the earth was without form, void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And so God created Heaven and Hell and between them God created seven planes of existence which Heaven and Hell hath no power over. These seven planes were not of light or darkness, they were of a new life that would exist for all eternity. Each was given a soul, life of its own, and a choice to make. Each would be allowed a purpose which they would have to give themselves. And so the seven discussed what they would do and in the end each of them were no longer uninhabited but gave new existence to other souls of their choosing.
The Planes:
-Room #4
-City of Animus
-Fields of Fate
-Town of Bliss
-The Wastelands of Sorrow
-Mirror
-The Forest of the Lost

AND THEN IT CAME TO BE...
The Seven Planes all stood to be, each existing side by side to the other- often intersecting and each sharing the same space and plane of existence.
Even from the moment of its conception, the soul of Animus was one that searched for meaning. Over the years, Animus developed itself into many incarnations, until one day, Animus found its meaning.
It's meaning was sanctity.
Through the will of God, Animus settled on Earth. With it came Room #4, which became a portal and a door way to the rest of the five planes. Even in its earliest days, Animus called out the souls of the weak, lost and damned. What they did with their time there was entirely up to them. The site was a sacred land of worship for many of the local tribes that settled near the region.
It was not until two hundred fourteen years to this writing that the land was eventually settled into a township. Not much is known about its early residents as many others soon came into the city. It was during this time that Animus called upon Sorazen and Zarikatesh to watch over the residents and maintained the balance.
The City of Animus enjoyed a period of "normalcy" that lasted well through two centuries. An understanding of what Animus is was shared between a select few within the city, the last of whom was Nica Merchant, the High Priestess of the Lucis Patesco, which was the central religion in the city during its time.
As the city grew more populated and commercialized, the soul of Animus began to weaken. Attempts to restore balance was made several times, but these attempts only seemed to have weakened the soul of Animus further.
It was not until thirty three years prior to this writing that a powerful rouge demon, known simply as the Black Goat, took advantage of its weakness and took possession of the city, the plane and its soul. Disobeying God's will, he took the ground and elevated it on a realm of its own.
It would be twenty seven years after the Black Goat's take over before Animus would call out to the lost once more. The new batch of residents which included Trist, Keyof Eminor, Fiona Konikos+, Veronica Roth, Johnny Tavalera, Myzrael+, and Anya Zaho provided a strong resistance against the Black Goat, which strengthen Animus to call upon others.
It has barely been a day to this writing, that the united residents rid the city of the Black Goat. With a center of power gone, Animus remains a prone and unstable entiry.
