Trist grazed each blade of grass with his small, hover like, steps. Jace, the shadow who wandered within him, slid across the dew riddened ground unseen.
"This is what it has come to Jace. Our journey, Our life, Our truth. While everyone continued on the fight for this wretched place we went our own way. What has it gotten you and I?"
Jace hissed a most obvious and yet most irritable remark.
"Answers."
He spoke the truth, despit it all Trist and Jace had found something more then just the top layer trials and villains, they had found Animus and spoke to it and....and....
"What now?" Trist's words were weary.

"What now what?", Veronica asked, slowly approaching Trist. Slowly, she revealed herself from the darkness as she narrowly approached him, passing along shrubs, tombstones, and bushes. "Its been awhile Trist, where have you been?".

Trist turned and grinned, Jace grinned inside of him as well. His eyes caught the light and shone brightly as he gazed at her. "Over the river and through the woods i suppose, but i fell short of grandmothers house."
His eyes seemed to wander around a bit before settling on the ground below him. The grass seemed dead where he stood, he too was dying on the inside.

Veronica allowed herself to trail through a couple tombstones as she replied, "Still the same I see. Is it Jace I am speaking to?".

"Jace....Trist, after the things i have seen I am not sure we are seperate anymore to be honest."
Jace rose up from behind Trist snickering and then hissed. "You could call us Trace if you like."

Trist rotated himself and the look on his face seemed to be a mere mimicry of Jace. And then they spoke as one. "What do you know of Animus?" As they spoke in unison the ground seem to move a bit.

"More than I care to know."
The voice came from Viscum, the eldest of the Helios siblings, who was sitting on top of a tomb, looking down on the others. He had sensed Trist's presence and felt compelled to be here. This man had been touched by Animus, and that made him most interesting.

Trist turned, Jace imposingly hovering over him smiling. Jace loved the people within Animus, not because of fondness because everyone thrived with inner potency. Trist stayed his words as if awaiting something, as he did the ground seemed to shake again slowly.

Syl approached the graveyard in one of its usual daily wanderings. This was a habit that Syl was so used to, it soon learned how to naviguate Animus. There it often would stop by some landmarks and check if there were any residents there to interact with. In this case there were.
Syl sensed an unfamiliar aura in the graveyard as it passed it by. Its curiousity was piqued. A shadow being? Now this was getting interesting. As it walked toward the source of the aura, it paused to look at some graves. The names of many men and women were engraved on them, a sad reminder of the fact that once, they were people. Now, they were in their own afterlife after going through Azrael.
At one end was a huge obelisk* with more names engraved on it, which Syl noticed wasn't there when it first arrived on Animus. Most of the inhabitants here are mindless, so... where did it come from? Why was it erected? By who?
These questions ran on in Syl's mind as it wandered around the graveyard. Until, at last, it came upon the source of the aura. A strange man was standing there, and in front of him was...
"Veronica?"
Syl grinned and ran towards her, arms out stretched for a big hug.
"Miss Veronica! Where have you been?!"

Veronica turned to the voice and replied, "So do I apparently.". She turned back to Trist and said, "I've seen the past of this city. I saw what I was here many years ago and from that, I became eager and curious. A wicked temptation, if I must admit, but through temptation, I finally understood."
"Miss Veronica! Where have you been?!"
Veronica smiled as she turned at the sound of Syl's voice. It was warm and comforting, beautiful really. Veronica turned to Syl and opened her arms as she said, "Its been such a long time! I've been busy studying. Where have you been, sweet Syl?".

Jace swirled and seemed to rise and grow and Trists body began to illuminate and a vortex consumed him blowing his hair and close about. Then he closed his eyes and reopened them and his eyes became as Jaces eyes and Jaces as his. And then silence as the shadow that always trailed him fell into his body and they were one being, the way Animus had intended them to be.

Viscum looked at Trist's movements with a mix of boredom and contempt.
"Cheap tricks are what Animus has been built upon. Let us hear you speak if you are so full of knowledge."

And as the ground inhaled and exhaled Trist became as a mouth piece. The ground seemed to breathe with him and everything seemed to slow. I AM, I AM THAT WHICH DWELLS IN YOU, BENEATH YOU, AND ABOVE YOU. I AM ANIMUS, I AM YOUR LAND, YOUR WATER, I AM YOU AN YOU ARE OF ME, SPEAK YOUR MINDS NOT FOR NOW IS ANSWERS...."
"HE WHO DWELLS IN ANIMUS IS OF SIN, SHE WHO DWELLS IN ANIMUS IS OF FOREVER AND OF NOTHING, IT WHO DWELLS IN ANIMUS IS OF MY DESIGN. "
"IF YOU CONTINUE YOUR JOURNIES, IF YOU CONTINUE YOUR PATHS, YOU WILL FIND OBLIVION, YOU WILL FIND DEATH, YOU WILL FIND LIFE, AND OF YOU I WILL IMPART KNOWLEDGE YOU WISH FOR BUT NEED NOT."
Trist fell to the ground and whispered something that only the ears there could here. "Beware, this is not what you know, he lives and his mind is of no God of love." Then Trist died right there.
