Kiel laughed, amiably swinging an arm over her shoulder and pulling her close.
"Oh, like where? The Land of Liquified Chocolate Cakes? The Sphere of Lollipops and Hard Candy? The City of Sweets and Marshmellows?"

That was it. Keil was asking for it... No, no, no... He was begging for it.
Sara shot Keil another small smile and slowly made her way towards him with a look that said, "Shut up and kiss me!".

Kiel scowled at her, pulling away.
"Bah, you're not my type," said Kiel, glaring at her icily, "why the hell would I kiss you?"
Asri chuckled, holding Syl close. The beauty of this was that Syl had no idea what was going on in Kiel's head. Granted, no one did but Kiel itself, but...
"ASRI! This is NOT funny!" yelled Kiel.
"It's your turn to get picked on for once," said Asri, smiling, "before I met you, I looked like a normal guy."
"Define 'normal.'"
Asri's chuckled escalating into a quiet laugh. He knew Kiel's type all too well... Kiel was so stuck with the old ways that it only ever looked at its family in that way. And considering that Syl and Kure were already taken... Oh dear... Asri suddenly paled.

"By "normal", Asri meant someone who looks my dad!", Sara shot back with a wider grin as she followed Keil around; facing him, making sure he got a good look at the lips that wanted his.
Sara opened up her arms to Keil mockingly and said, "Come on, baby... I'm right here.".

Kiel looked at Asri, scowling as well.
"If you insist, Asri."
"Urk!"
Asri stepped away, carrying Syl as he did so.
"Um... Kiel, you do realize that we're adopted siblings, right?"
"If I could do it with Syl, I could certainly do it with you."
"Stop it!"
He was too slow. Kiel caught up to him in seconds, touching his chin and lowering his head. He looked at Asri right in the eyes before kissing him in ont he lips. Asri blushed slightly, trying to wriggle free, but that proved difficult while he was holding Syl. It felty like an eternity when Kiel finally pulled away, grinning.
"What you planning, Kiel?" asked Asri, wiping his lips, blushing, with an embarrassed expression on his face.
"If you can't avoid getting close to that woman, I'll break her heart myself," whispered Kiel, so softly that only Asri could hear. "I love you Asri, and there's no way that I'll let this woman die. If that means breaking her heart, then so be it."
Asri fell silent, silently realizing what this meant. Kiel was intended to protect him, and unlike with Kure, Selice hadn't been acknowledged as a member of their family. That meant that Kiel wasn't as concerned for her welfare... Selice... Tears began to gather in his eyes. Why did his dreams have to be so painfully ripped from him or twisted so much? He dreamed of becoming a lawyer, and now he was neck deep in the supernatural that he had never thought existed. He dreaming of having a loving family... and here he was stuck with Kiel. A wife... ?
Asri fell to his knees, holding Syl close. He felt a pang of jealousy for his little adopted sibling. Why did Syl manage to find real love with Kure while he was always searching...? Could he ever find the on for him? One that wouldn't be ripped from him.

Sara stopped where she was, watching in utter confusion as Keil kissed Asri... It wasn't even gay, it was something else. Sara didn't move, she couldn't even cover her open jaw.
"What was that?".

Kiel gave her a wry grin.
"Asri is no stranger to me," it said, "that's all you need to you."
It smiled as it gently put a hand on the angel's shoulder.
"Now come on, Asri, I don't want you fainting on me. What are you, really? A sissy."
"This is all your fault."
"True. But you know that I can't help it."
Asri chuckled, hanging his head.
"Everything's your fault," he muttered. "Maybe even what happened with No Name."
"Shush!" whispered Kiel "That girl doesn't need to know about that!"
Kiel stood and faced Sara, smiling cheerfully.
"Now, have I sufficiently shocked you enough so that we can get down to business?"

"We can.", Sara replied. "Just after this.". With those words, Sara pushed herself before Kiel, grabbed its head, and pulled it in for a nice long kiss.
Sara pushed Kiel away and straightened herself as she said, "Ok, I'm good. What's the plan?".

Kiel pushed itself off of her, looking at her with a disgusted expression on its face.
"Disgusting!" siad Kiel, "did your mother ever teach you any manners?!"
"The plan," said Asri.
Kiel's scary grin returned in full force. Now that it was annoyed at Sara, it wouldn't care as much about her welfare. And Asri knew that. But he had faith that Sara would survive.
"Well, since you're so intent on ticking me off, why not go forward into the basement on your own? Try and fight those Lost Souls while I get the containment spell ready. That way they'll be too fixated on the girl trying to get herself killed to notice that there's a spell being cast around them. Unless, of course, you want them to accumulate in number and turn Animus into a Necropolis?"

"She did.", Sara shot back. "It just so happened she never taught me how to flirt.".
Sara turned around from them and motioned towards the Lost Souls. "Do what you have to do.".

"Finally," replied Kiel, "anf if your mother didn't teach you how to flirt, good luck getting a boyfriend!"
It laughed some more before quieting down. Turning towards Asri, it grinned and winked a him.
"Get Syl prepped," said Kiel, "we'll wait until she stirs up a commotion with the Lost Souls."
Asri nodded and held Syl tighter, whispering in its ear to wake it up. Syl yawned, stirred awake, rubbing its eyes as it clung to Asri. It quietly looked at Kiel with a confused look on its face. Kiel leaned down and kissed it on the forehead gently.
"Don' don't be afraid, Syl," said Kiel, "I've got your back. I just need your help with this one."
Syl looked at Kiel curiously.
"Help?"
Kiel smiled.
"Just like in the old days. Trust, and this won't go horribly wrong."
Syl nodded.
"Okay. What... do I have to do?"
"That's the beauty of it."

Once again, Sara held the lost souls in place perfectly as she walked up to Kiel and slapped him, snapping, "Stop being so vague and tell Syl what it has to do!".

Kiel didn't even flinch as Sara slapped it. Geez, this lady meant business. Then again, so did Kiel. If it wanted to really be effective, it needed Syl's help.
"Wow," it remarked sarcastically, "you're the most mild-mannered woman I've met. More so when Asri first mistook Syl for a cute girl and proposed marriage. Ah, you should have seen the cherry blossoms, Sara."
"HEY!" yelled Asri, "didn't we agree not to let that slip?!"
"Only for the details," said Kiel, grinning.
"You're embarrassing me, you know that?!"
"If you don't want me to kiss you again, you should get Syl started for the usual, trap and capture protocol," said Kiel. "Spell identification number 2590783."
"Isn't that a little expensive?" asked Asri, "What about spell number 2098753? It works better in smaller places. What with the anti-magic effects and all. It'll also demoralize and stun any Lost Souls within range via an aura disruptor."
"Precisely why we shouldn't use it," replied Kiel, "Seth's an amnesiac. It's too vulnerable, and its innocence is as fragile as a rose petal. I still have some bugs to straighten out, and spell 209873 might aggravate them. If Lord Azrael actually had the word ‘vacation’ in its vocabulary, I might have the time to do everything I have planned. Rather than doing it double time for both myself and Syl while you two wander around and have fun."
Asri groaned and rolled his eyes.
“Plans like what? Colouring all of Animus red?” Kiel stood there in silence, for a moment, then burst out laughing.
“You know what? That actually sounds like the perfect birthday present for Syl.”
Asri paled. Translation from Kielspeak: We’re Going On Another Insane Adventure And There’s Nothing That You Can Do To Stop Me. What a fun day this was going to be. By Luisine’s Light…
“Are you crazy Kiel?!” yelled Asri. “You did say that you didn’t want to attract attention.”
“Of course not,” said Kiel, grinning devilishly and poking at him playfully, “it’ll be your fault.”
“KIEL!”
“Fine, fine,” said Kiel, smiling, “then after that we’ll go play dress up! I have a new squarkly dress that I want you to try out. Don’t worry, Triondatus isn’t here to watch. He’s dead after all… Kellyon ki-”
Asri’s face turned lived red with rage. Triondatus was a red dragon that they and their friends once had to defeat? How did Kiel do it? Genius. It had Asri pose as a virgin princess and go into the cave in place of the real one. In pink. And the dragon was old enough that he couldn’t tell the difference. It wasn’t the most earth-shaking event in their past, but it was one that Asri found horribly embarrassing. Thankfully, they had the help of a dragonslayer, Kellyon, who had been instrumental in putting an end to the dragon… and getting Asri out of that dress.
“KIEL!”
Kiel laughed and casually slung an arm over his worry.
“Less talking, more explaining! Syl’s looking at us as if we’re from Zrecyonis II.”
“KIEL!”
“What?”
“I told you already, shut up!”
“Why?”
“You’re being a bastard again.”
Kiel’s grin only grew wider.
“And who’s the one who picks up the reaping slack? And who’s the one that takes care of the down and dirty business when you’re flirting with that woman? And who’s the one that goes through the trouble of repairing bugs in Syl’s programming? And who’s the one who brought you here to look after Syl?”
Asri put a hand on his forehead, groaning. Kiel knew how to best him in an argument.
“You try teaching Syl algebra.” “Well, I’ve only blown up a bit more than ten colleges now,” said Kiel, “isn’t that why I asked you to tutor it?”
“KIEL! You’re straying off topic again! And YOU try grading tests when all you see are birds drawn everywhere! Since when is the answer to 2xy/8x three trillion? Since when is Jell-O considered a unit of measurement?! And since when is liquefied chocolate cake an answer to a straightforward multiplication question?!”
“Are you insulting my sibling’s talents?!”
“Well, I’m the one who’s trying to teach it anything! I’ve been meaning to recruit Kure and Selice as well… After that last fiasco, I’ll need all the help I can get!”
“That woman’s fate is no better than with your last girlfriend! I refuse to have her tutor Syl!”
“Her name’s Selice!”
“Get a boyfriend, Asri! You know that the curse will doom any future wife you’ll have, because that’s what you want! Why not go for an alternative that doesn’t die as much?”
“I’m NOT gay!”
“Oh, and what about that lover you had on Earth?”
“We were friends!”
“But you…”
Syl leaned forward in Asri’s grasp, smiling amiably at Sara. It had been calm and innocent throughout the entire argument, as quiet as ever, but still curious.
“Miss Sara, do you have a stoppy timey thingy? I want to see how long these two will argue before noticing where we are.” It giggled at it watched the show.
“They’re fun, you know?”
Meanwhile, the argument between Kiel and Asri raged on.
“… I didn’t do that with him!”
“Admit it already!”
“Shut up Kiel! We have business now!”
“Yeah, getting you a boyfriend.”
“You do realize that you’re the worst matchmaker ever?”
“You do realize that I’ve sent all of your other suits to the wash?”
“WHAT?!”
