It had been raining for days, the clouds seemingly not ceasing their downpour. The streets seemed empty, few people running across the pavement with news papers over their heads or umbrellas. It was only mid-afternoon and it was so dark and eerie as the rain didn’t stop. Buildings and streets were gray as street lights flickered and glowed through the deafening downpour. Zachery stood there, without a care in the world. His hair slicked back from the water as it dripped down his face and neck, running down his skin and soaking his cloths. He was use to standing in the rain, and it never bothered him unless it was cold. “Another boring day…” He murmured, looking up at the gray blanketed sky, heavy with rain and clouds.

I walked down the street, dreading the rain which trickled down my head. Why did it have to rain in a gloomy day like this? It reminded me of the day I turned into who I am today. Only if I could see that tribe once more; if only I was more prepared. But that is in the past and something I wish not to remember or even dream of thinking.--Leaving this as a story to be told.
Far ahead of me I see what it appears to be a boy, I walked towards him new to the streets.

Hearing the squishing sound and splashing of foot steps, Zachery looks to the side of him to see a figure walking towards him in the rain. A young man, slender frame, short damp hair plastered to his face, he seemed a bit lost. Zachery watched him for a moment, his white eyes taking in each detail, but then he returned his gaze to the sky. He could only assume that this man was another Mindless like the rest, since nothing seemed to be of significance in his features.

"Hello, do you have any idea where I am at?" I asked.

Zachery slid him a sideways glance. ‘A new resident….’ he thought. He turned to the young man, “This is Animus.” he replied. His tone fairly calm, he only offered a small smile, even if it seemed a bit cold and insincere. “You shouldn’t walk around in the rain. You’ll catch a cold.”

I could tell by his gesture and movement that he was insincere but I decided to wave it off as nothing, I needed to find a place to crash and recover so that I will be able to explore the place.
"I see, have any idea where I can bunk? I am Seth by the way," I said.

Zachery stared at Seth for a moment, “I’m Zachery Zaphener.” he replied. “There are many empty buildings you could take pardon in, but, if you wish, you can stay at my place.” He said and started to walk away, silently expecting Seth to follow if he had any interest in stay with him. He looked up at the sky as he walked, letting the rain beat down against his skin. Rainy days, they were peaceful and quiet even if the sky looked bleak and colorless.

Zachery walked through the rainy streets until the two came up to a eight story building, the windows were boarded up and the structure was concrete and brick, painted over with white. Making it look eerie and gray from the outside. Lightning rumbled in the distance, light streaking across the sky as the rain began to come down even harder. Zachery pushed open the metal door, the hinges creaked loudly, opening inward to a hallway and plush brown carpet. Zachery walked in, flipping the lights on to the hallway that lead to an opening area. It was part of an apartment complex, but the yard had been sealed off, so the only way to the houses was to go through the hallway and up the stairs or elevator. He stood in the hallway light, Squeezing out the water from his cloths lazily, letting the water from his hair slid down his face and neck.
He finished wringing out his shirt and looked back at Seth, “You can take an apartment of your own if you like. But most of them are empty and without anything in them. You can stay in my apartment if you need to eat anything or want to sleep on the couch or bed.” Zachery said. He walked down the length of hall and walked behind the desk, picking up a set of duplicated keys. One for himself, another for whomever. Daemon had shown him how to duplicate keys since he could melt metal and bronze fairly well.

Zachery put the keys on the counter of the kitchen, then went to the bedroom. He didn’t bother with the bed. He could never sleep in one anyways. If he had a nightmare from his past, then he would only get into a tangled mess. So he preferred to sit up against the wall. And so he did. Zachery sat with his back up against the wall. One knee near his chest as the other was cross underneath. Arm lazily relaxing on his knee as he watched the rain pass down the window.

"Depends on what your definition of 'Okay' is." Zachery replied. Giving Seth a sideways glance, "I would say being chastised by a demon in my dreams isn't all that abnormal. But then again, I'm not so normal myself." He snapped his fingers and a small flame lit in his hand, the glow illuminating the corner where he sat. He let it sizzle away and shifted slightly, returning his sights to the window where the rain poured onto it and dripped down in beads of clear warped light. It was strange how every day occurrences reminded one of past events.
The rain. It was part of a life changing event of his own. But it was so cold then. The rain here was warm and blissful. Somehow... it was strange since this place seemed so destined to kill everyone.
