I have forgotten how long it has been since I have heard from the others. Has it been months now? That, I do not know.
I suppose they have been busy with their own lives. Or they have been avoiding me on purpose. After the events of the carnival, I would not blame them...
Veronica, I have seen her occasionally when I visit town to get something. She's still the way she is, herding the new ones into the city, briefing them, like they were here on a city tour. I wonder if she tells them about the dangers they have to face everyday, wandering into Animus like that?
Johnny. Dear Johnny, I have seen a couple of days ago talking to some gentleman right outside the Arm's Hotel. I was about to approach him to say Hi. I was standing right across the street from where he stood. Then he got into a cab and left.
The Helios siblings ... vanished. I have not encountered them even ones after the Carnival. Mazrin ... I have been meaning to have a word with him. Over tea or coffee probably. I hope I see him soon.
Syl. The androgynous resident, I have spotted quite a lot around town. I have not really talked to him ... or her ... since he seems to be busy talking to himself. Or maybe he was talking to something that I can not see. It is hard to tell which is real. Especially here in Animus.
Arqus and Bremmen disappeared as well. It was like, that thing that sucked them down the ground, consumed them, digested them.
Tommy the clown, I do not have to see face to face to know that he's still here. The trail of dead bodies and butchered families' enough proof. Something has to be done with that psycho.
There are a few others I have seen around the city. Most of them are new, most of them I do not know. But I look forward one day sitting down with them and talk.
Fleur stopped writing on her journal. Her eyes travelled to the small glass box on the table. She tapped her pen on the desk, as if thinking, then picked up the box and opened it.
Inside was the beating heart of the Red General, kept alive by a few mechanisms that looked like small batteries. She stood up and walked towards a huge table.
She removed the tarp that covered the table and it revealed something she's been working on for the past couple of months. Fleur removed the heart slowly from the box and planted it inside her project.
The moment she secured the wires and locked the heart in place, Fleur's creation started moving. It growled and hissed and jumped down the table.
It looked up at Fleur with red glowing eyes. It was huge. It would be bigger than Fleur if it would stand up on it's hind legs. It looked like a panther ... except ... this one's mechanical. It was a robot panther.
The machine growled and wagged it's long metal tail. Razor sharp metal teeth outlined it's ferocious mouth. It's incisors were enormous, probably as long as a standard pen. Fleur patterned it to a sabretooth tiger.
"I shall call you Rescue." Fleur said, hands on her hips, watching her creation proudly as it purred like a house cat.
