Bremmen left the others at the motel as he walked the streets
of Animus. Coming back to this 'Animus', made him miss
the old Animus. He could only find one word to describe everything
in this city. Dead.
He stopped and saw his reflection on a restaurant window. His
white robe doesn't seem to fit his surroundings. The demon waved
his hand on his reflection, suddenly, his robe turned into
black. Looking down on his clothes, Bremmen was pleased to see
that it changed colour. There was no trace of white, just black,
and the red trimmings was replaced by silver.
He continued walking, occasionally passing by the "zombie"
residents.
"Let me out now Bremmen, you've had your fun." The voice advised
inside his head. He knew who it was, it was Arqus."Now please, let
me out."
"..."
"We're back in the future Animus. There's nothing to fight here.
I'll let you take over again if I need you." His host added.
"Promise?"
"I promise."
With that, Arqus gasped for breath. He crashed on the pavement
where he was walking on. He was back on his own body. Bremmen
was contained inside him again. Still gasping for breath, he
knelt down, and started throwing up on the sidewalk.
He noticed how he always seem to puke when Bremmen leaves his body
after possession.Arqus just figured, maybe it's all of Bremmen's
unholy powers and might, that his fragile mortal body
couldn't handle, that's causing the reaction after departure.
Arqus slowly stood up, wiping his mouth in the process with the
back of his gloved right hand. He was surprised to see that the
white gloves didn't turn black. They were still white.
"Damn it, I'm hungry." He cursed, looking around for a shop where he
could eat.
He spotted a cafe across the street. He jogged across but was suddenly
surprised with the weight of his clothes. He staggered to keep his balance
while crossing. When he got to the other side, he saw himself on the
glass door of the cafe.
The long flowing blond hair was still there and the black robe
fitted him, but not quite as beautiful compared to when Bremmen
has control over his body.
Arqus brushed the golden locks away from his face. It revelead
beauty. It was still his face.
Looking back at him, was the face Bremmen wore when he's in control.
This face though, had softer, beautiful features. Unlike when Bremmen
possessed his body, the features of his face were sharper, fiercer
even.
He entered the cafe, only to be greeted by a "zombie" waiter. She
greeted him with a "welcome to Hideki's cafe", but it lacks warmth.
Like Bremmen, Arqus missed the people from the old Animus.
He bowed his head, remembering Myzrael.
Arqus got himself a cup of coffee and sat on a booth near the window.
He watched the "zombie" citizens walking around like dead corpses.
The light from the sun, shined down upon him, making his long hair
gleam like strands of gold against his pale face.
If he was back on the old Animus, the residents would behold him
and would admire his looks. He was utterly angelic.
"He's gone." Arqus thought, writing the letter "M" on the mist
forming on the glass window, with his gloved finger.
"Get over it." Bremmen finally spoke to him from within. "It's not
like he's the first person you know, who died."
Abruptly, it came rushing back to him. Bremmen told him about his
loved ones being killed.
"I wanna remember Bremmen." Arqus said, looking down on his creamed
coffee cup. "Help me remember what happened to my family."
The demon in him laughed and asked, "Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"Your former life before Animus, Magnus', is quite different and
disturbing. Are you sure you want to know..."
"I am sure." Arqus replied, closing his eyes.
