Syl hugged Veronica tightly.
"I'm so glad, miss Veronica!" it said happily, "you're back! Did anything bad happen? What was going on? I... I was worried about you... but... I..."
It tried hard to hide its tears, but a few managed to roll down its cheeks.
"You're back... I'm so glad..."
Syl was brimming with joy that Veronica was back. Although... it felt ashamed of itself that it had done nothing to help. Still, at least that proved that the group had no need of its assistance... but then again... since when did anyone need its help? Syl was always just a tag along... just an accessory. It did nothing to impact others... it just watched things happened and hoped that some good came out of it. While it made it easier to gather information... it made Syl feel... useless.
"I'm so glad that you're back, miss Veronica... I'm so glad that you're back..." Syl couldn't stop itself from repeating those words. Its joy for her return and shame for its uselessness was overwhleming. Syl couldn't control itself, and what added insult to injury was that Bremmen was watching everything.

Anya searched the room for some clothes, it took a little bit, but she found some that might be a little big on Veronica, but it was better than nothing. She took the clothes over to Veronica.
"Hey Syl, everything will be okay," she told it softly.

Veronica smiled at Syl and said, "You have no idea how happy your presence and you attitude is making me right now."
Veronica noticed the clothes Anya had given her and said, "Thank you.". Veronica motioned off the hug and took the clothes in her arms as she headed for the bathroom. Looking at Syl, she said, "I'll explain everything to you later."
Johnny looked back at the rest as he allowed himself to fall on the bed. "I'm just glad this whole damn thing is over and done with!"

Bremmen didn't even bother opening his mouth and telling everyone what happened. Anya, Veronica and Johnny were doing it for him. He had the urge to tell them how he cut the bastard open with his scythe, but opted to keep it to himself.
Then there's Syl's dramatic display of concern and care for Veronica. He was acting like she was his mother.
"For Odin's sake..." He thought in complete disbelief.
Bremmen thought, Arqus was right. This thing infront of him who's smothering Veronica is not much of a use around here. He's always missing in action, or if not, refuses to be in action or in a fight.
"This city needs fighters, defender even." The demon thought, while watching the whole appalling spectacle.

The body of the Black Goat crashed into the ground at a velocity so fast that not even the Goat could survive the damage done. Trace landed quickly after, its shadow wings dissipating as he set two feet on the ground. Trace stood over the Black Goat, who lay there, in the centre of the graveyard broken and bloody from their battle. The Goat struggled to breath, coughing up blood. The damage was not solely external. It's organs had been punctured in so many ways it would be impossible to repair even for a creature like the Black Goat.
"Told you I'd do you in." Trace said. His usual grin had subsided into a serious look. Not one of mourning, but more of dissapointment at how easilly the Goat had been defeated. Trace turned to walk away, but the Goat's hand grabbed hold of his leg.
"Wa... wait. Tell me," The Goat said, his voice soft, almost in a whisper as he drew his last breath. "What will you do with it?"
"This?" Trace said, pulling out the black box and staring at it, his grin returning. The Goat coughed up some more blood, before dissolving into the shadows. It was finally dead, and without ever knowing the answer. Trace walked a few feet away and picked up the Black Goat's hat, which had fallen off upon impact. Trace placed the hat upon his own head, and tipped it to slightly cover his eyes. He opened the box and watched as a white light floated out of the box, rising in front of him. Trace grasped the white light in his hand, and in a flash of blinding light absorbed it into himself, ready for future use and safe from prying eyes.
"When the times comes," Trace said seriously. "I'm going to use it."
Trace began walking away into the darkness, whispering a sole phrase to himself with a twisted grin.
"I'm going to use it to kill God."

Johnny stepped out of room four for a cigarette. With the cigarette hanging off his lips, Johnny leaned against the railing, keeping his eyes up at the sky. He was just thankful the ordeal was over. The Black Goat's death came at a price, as many of their questions were left unanswered.
Johnny pulled the cigarette away from his lips as he exhaled. "It's a new time now.", he said to himself. "I reckon we're gonna have to start totally fending this land for ourselves."
Johnny set his gaze back on the sky and in an instant, crystallized in shock. "Looks like we aren't done."
Johnny turned back to the rest of the group and said, "You guys better take a look at this!"
Veronica rushed to Johnny's side, looked up at the sky, and mumbled, "Oh my God..."
"Tell me about it, as if the Black Goat wasn't enough!"

The fading late afternoon sky parted as the rest of the Forgotten 404 made their way through the Animus skies. The 404 Squadron was last seen many decades ago over Germany. Somehow, they've found themselves in Animus. As the planes, and their men, and their bombs are ready to take this land for the greater good.
