"How about we go out there, take one of those bastards and bring him back in here?"
Tipping his new hat Trace grinned.
"That's the best idea I've heard all day." he said, taking the safety of his gun.

"What the hell are these guys doing here anyway? Cause they sure as hell didn't all wake up in Room 4."
Syl cocked its head and shrugged when Trace said that. An obvious question. The police station was a viable location to restock on ammunition and a decent temporary hiding spot. And besides, Syl thought that most, if not all the residents here woke up in Room 4. Chains sort of implied that back in the theatre.
Syl nodded at Lain, smiling.
"I really appreciate your concern, Lain."
It then approached Veronica, still clutching its shoulder, its left arm still limp.
"Miss Veronica, are you alright?"

Jake continued his sprint down the street, jumping through a window. He landed on the other side, assessing his injuries. He had a few cuts in his clothes, but nothing on his skin. He smiled, and ducked down, waiting until a patrol of soldiers rushed past. He gripped his katana, and rushed out, stabbing the rear man through the neck. The others turned around to face Jake, only to die from a spray from the Thompson SMG the man was holding. Jake was using the dead man as a shield, and had reached around him to push the trigger wit the corpse's finger. Dropping the body, Jake grabbed all the weapons and ammo he could. He slung a Thompson over his back, but not before feeding a new 50 bullet round drum into the weapon.
He quickly cleaned his katana on one man's uniform, and grabbed a Browning's Automatic Assault rifle, making sure it was loaded and operational. As a parting gift, he found a pistol on a corpse. He strapped the holster to his thigh, and with his new makeshift arsenal, headed down the street with renewed vigor.
The equipment was a lot heavier than he expected.

"You seem like the quiet type.", Johnny replied to Phoebe. "You're in!"
"That's the best idea I've heard all day." Turing to Trace, Johnny said, "I had a feeling you'd like it!"
Johnny held court and said, "Here's the plan. I'll take Trace and Phoebe with me. I'll sneak up to one of the soldier's and surrender myself. The moment he gets close, I want the two of you to take him out as quiet as possible. I'm unarmed, so they won't be expecting much from me."
Johnny handed his gun to Veronica as she said to him. "What are you doing?"
"Getting answers.", Johnny replied.
"Johnny, I don't think I can take it if so-"
Johnny cut Veronica and said, "I'll be fine."
Johnny motioned towards the door and waited for Trace and Phoebe.
"Miss Veronica, are you alright?" Veronica turned her head and replied, "No."

Trace holstered Hellstorm and pulled out one of the Katana blades. If they were going to take one quietly a blade would be alot easier.
"He won't miss an arm, will he?" Trace half joked as he walked out of the Police Station.

Phoebe left the police station, taking to her demon form, bone tail raising in anticipation. "The help of a human is hardly needed. But whatever." It amused her though, that a human would be dumb enough to surrender himself, just for the sake of taking a soldier prisoner. She wouldn't be helping him get away, because she didn't care.

Syl leaned against Veronica and looking at her with a concerned expression on its face. It only barely manage to supress the urge to grimace - it didn't feel any pain, but the numbed feeling in its arm was annoying enough.
"Miss Veronica... why aren't you all right?"
It had listened to everything, although it showed no indication that it did. More information. Nice. Syl realized that it had one spy left. The one in the mansion. If Johnny, Phoebe and Trace were going to go capture and interrogate a soldier, it wanted to have all the knowledge it could get its hands on. The one problem here was that it didn't know whether they would want to keep the information to themselves, or whether they would reveal it to the others. Nonetheless, the desire for answers and its curiosity was very strong in Syl - it wanted answers even more than Johnny did.
It called back the spy and and had it cloak itself so that it virtually disappeared from sight - supernatural or otherwise.
If it was to survive this experience, it needed knowledge - a resource that was often critical for Syl's survival in the past. That spy could keep track of the soldier's positions as it flew above the city. That way, if Syl was ever separated from the group, it would be able to escape more easily, with Kiel's help, of course.
Syl sighed and leaned against Veronica, still clutching its shoulder.
"... Are you hurt, miss Veronica?"

Trace leaned in close to Johnny as he left the station, talking in a hushed whisper so that nobody could hear what he was saying, no matter how close they may be.
"Are you sure we can trust all of these people Johnny?"

Turning to Trace, Johnny whispered back, "What makes me think I can trust you right now? I'm taking a fuckin' leap of faith by trusting everyone, because with all this shit, there really isn't anything to gain."
Johnny straightened his blazer as he motioned down the street. Johnny figured it was best to remain inconspicuous, so he ruffled his hair as he appeared to stroll down the streets like a mad man on the verge of loosing it.
Stumbling down the streets, Johnny began to wonder how stupid he must have looked. Somewhere, back there, Phoebe and Trace are laughing... Getting a little kick out of this.
Johnny continued strolling until he heard the words he'd been waiting for... "Keep your hands where I can see them and don't move!"
Johnny drew his arms over his head as he turned to the soldier. "Please, I mean no harm. I'm only looking for my wife and my daughter..."
Phoebe... Trace... Don't leave me hanging here!
<***>
Veronica drew herself down to a bench and lay there. Looking up at Syl she replied, "I think I'm having one of of the worst days of my life. I found out things I never wanted to know... And just as it ended, war broke loose. For all I know, Arqus could be dead... Johnny might... I don't even want to think about it."

Trace stepped out from his hiding place in the shadows and raised his gun. He'd decided on a less violent approach, deciding that he needed all the soldier's appendages in case torture was needed later on.
"How about you put your hands where I can see them." Trace said, pointing his gun at the soldiers back. "It'd be a shame if you ended your day with a bullet through the head."

Syl sat down next to Veronica. Still clutching its shoulder. It wanted to hug her, but its healing wound prevented that. It looked concerned, as it watched her.
"What happened?" asked Syl, "what... can I do... to make you feel better? I don't want you to see you hurting..."
What Syl didn't mention was that it would be watching the streets as much as it could. It knew what had happened at Veronica's end, but it knew that it would be better to feign ignorance. Meanwhile, its spy was speeding back to Trace and Phoebe's location. It wouldn't be long now before it would be surveying the area, watching.

Johnny stood where he was and praying to God that there neither Trace's or the soldier's guns would fire. They needed to be as quiet as possible.
The soldier turned to Trace and aimed.
Johnny turned to Phoebe's direction and nodded his head their way, calling out to her. In for the kill girl, but remember we want him alive!

Phoebe approached, lashing her tail out at his hand, cutting deep into bone, causing him to drop his weapon, then her tail snaked around his waist, lifting him up, and tightening each time he struggled. "Be a good boy and humor us. We might let you live afterwords if you behave." Her gaze shifted to Johnny and Trace, she grinned at them, then threw out her hand, flames coming from her finger tips, making a wall of fire to keep the other soldiers from coming after their captured soldier. "Oh hum." She stalked off toward the station with her new pet wrapped in her tail.

Bremmen stood infront of the hospital's pharmacy, wondering what drug he could take to shut up Arqus, when a group of soldiers stormed inside the hospital. They were running everywhere with their rifles and dusty combat uniforms.
"Everyone! May I have your attention please!" A female soldier stepped on the counter of the nurse's station.
The mindless citizens inside the building looked at her and then turned away, like she was nothing important. They were even oblivious to the fact that a dozen soldiers was inside the hospital.
The female soldier noticed the peculiar behavior of the residents, but opted to continue, "You all need to evacuate immediately. Everyone please exit on the left wing of the building, we would be escorting you to the camp we set up."
The remaining soldiers herded the residents towards the exit. One of the soldiers jogged towards Bremmen's direction. The demon was getting ready to strike, fearing that the soldier was going to attack him.
"Father, please, right this way." The lanky soldier told Bremmen in the nicest tone. He was asking him to join the line for the exit with the residents.
"Father?" Bremmen wondered to himself, as he let the soldier walk him to the line.
"He thought you were a priest because of your clothes." Arqus informed him. "Now just play along."
A smile grew on Bremmen's face, rubbing his chin.
"Interesting." He thought.
He stood side by side, with the mindless as they started moving towards the exit. Bremmen would occassionally glance at the soldier escorting them out, wondering what brought them to Animus.
"Yes. They're all hiding at the city police department." The voice came from the walkie talkie held by a soldier. "All men stand by."
"Veronica and the others..." Arqus thought, fearing for his friends' lives.
When he stepped out of the exit, the residents scattered all over the place like cattle. The soldiers had to herd them back again to keep them in line. Bremmen marched close to a male soldier, not older than 23.
"You." The demon spoke rudely, calling out for the man's attention.
The soldier gave him a weird look.
"For God's sake Bremmen you're supposed to be a priest!" Arqus reminded him.
"Brother?" Bremmen uttered, awkwardly. The soldier looked over his shoulder, wondering if he was talking to him.
"SON!" Arqus suggested inside Bremmen's head.
"Son." Bremmen repeated.
The soldier this time, smiled and walked next to Bremmen.
"What brought you and your friends to our fair city?" The demon asked. He was surprised that he was able to say that with a straight face.
"We are the United States army, Father," The young soldier boy advised. "We're here to liberate Germany from the Nazi's."
Bremmen almost snorted when he heard it.
"Nazi's?" He queried, raising a perfectly shaped eyebrow.

Despite everything he had seen in Animus, what Phoebe did to the solider was enough to get Johnny's jaw to drop. Girl had evil in her and she knew how to use it.
Johnny took one final glimpse before heading back to the station.
