"We are on our way, actually.". Veronica replied. "Its just up the street, the tall white building on the right."
Veronica turned back to the group and said, "Over there is Syl... I still haven't gotten the name of the girl we're taking to the hospital. The two, from what I've heard are Maz and Rosa. Daemon is somewhere around here, and the French lady next to me is Fleur."
Veronica turned to the right and saw Anya, quiet little Anya. "And just joining us is Anya.".
Veronica approached Anya with a hug and told her, "I never thanked you for saving me back there. God only knows what would have happened to me if you had not healed me.".

Healed her? She probably meant with first aid kits or something, I give a quick glance to all the strange looking people around me again. The only one who looked relatively 'normal' well the least strange was this Veronica lady in front of me.
"Excuse me for interrupting but where is this city? Like on the map, what country? It doesn't seem to have any certain 'look' to it that gives its nationality away."

Veronica shot him a look and asked, "How well do you take things the un-ordinary?".

"How would you react if I told you that we were no longer in Earth, but in a realm far from that of heaven, hell, and just about anything else you could imagine?".

"I'm sorry I never realized you were the religious type, so say if I don't hold a religion where abouts would I be then?" I don't know why this lady can't just cut straight to the point.

"You're in Animus City. A city that was once a part of Earth until it was raised into a realm of its own." Veronica crossed her arms and replied. "I kid you not.". There were more things Veronica could tell him, she knew she had left many things out of the sentence, but now wasn't the time, and she figured the guy wanted the shortest explanation possible.

"Where do I even begin?", Veronica closed her eyes and started. "On the seventh day, when God created heaven, the universe, and the dense sphere we now know as hell, he created seven planes. One of the seven planes was the city of Animus, and through God's direct orders, Animus settled into the Earth and became a refuge of sanctity for many of the early Earth's lost children. By default and time, the land was settled into the township you see around you. That lasted well until thirty three years ago when a rouge demon by the name of the Black Goat found the spirit of Animus in a weak state and took advantage of it. He raised the city from the Earth and placed it into a realm of its own. Its only connection with the rest of the seven planes is the plane of Room four, where you must have woken up in when you arrived here. The Black Goat took the city and its residents, all of whom wander mindlessly through the city. The only people with a working brain are those who woke up in room four and have been lucky enough to stop the city from getting to them. The Black Goat is no more and now we wait for the next thing to come, another time for Animus to reveal its secrets to us.".
Veronica opened her eyes from the trance she was in. "Does that answer your question?".

I just stood there looking at her nodding "Uh huh. Yea Veronica I told you I'm not religious, so all this talk about God and the 'black goat'? I'm sorry but I'm probably going to need a rational explanation because I don't believe in all this hokus pokus nonsense."
And here I was thinking Veronica was one of the normal ones here, I sigh to myself and just come to the conclusion that I'm going to have to ask someone else if I'm going to get a proper answer out of anyone about this place. I walk away from the group a little so as not irritate Cyl so I can have a smoke.

Veronica had a feeling he was going to react that way. Veronica walked down the street after Bruce and said, "You have to believe when I tell you that I am telling you the truth. You don't even have to believe it, but you asked me where we were, and no matter how gently I tried to lay it out to you, you didn't understand. I never believed in this until this city showed me things for myself. Look around you, from where we come from, this isn't normal.".

"What do you mean? Look around where? The city or the people?" The city looked fine and the people just seemed like kids that aint grown up yet.
"What do you mean?" I ask again sticking a cigarette in my mouth and lighting it up offering the box to Veronica

Standing a few feet away from Syl, Veronica figured it was safe for a cigarette. Veronica reached for the pack, stuck a cigarette between her lips, withdrew a lighter, lit it, and took a long good drag. "Thank you."
Veronica took another drag before saying, "What I mean is that on the surface, everything might look fine. But look around you, look around at everything, the people, this city. Those strangers walking down the street aren't silent because their rude, their silent for a reason."
Veronica stepped forward and placed her hand over his eyes as she chanted quietly in Latin... "See Animus from my eyes and the eyes of mine that came before me." In that instant, a flood of images came through Bruce's mind... Images of Sara's vision, images of the Black Goat's take over of the city and its final Earthly moments... Images of her awakening, and everything she has been through... Chancing upon the Priestess when they slipped back in time... Witnessing her temptation at the Black Goat's hand... His death... and everything that has transpired since.

Recoiling away from Veronica quickly, so quickly I stumble my cigarette drops from my mouth "WHAT THE FUCK!" Pointing at her "WHAT THE FUCK!" I repeat. "Listen lady, I don't do drugs so don't pull me into your little religious fucking cult you've got going here ok! I'm heading to the hospital with you guys then I'm out of here you hear me? OUT!" And with that I bend down pick up my cigarette look around, then after giving it a few quick dusts I pop it back in my mout and keep my distance from the whole group.

Rosa stormed after Bruce and Veronica, angry that it had shouted at Syl like that. She was in the right mind to smoke Bruce herself, to burn him to ashes so that he would no longer bother any of them with his incessant talking and disgusting attitude. It was easy to say he had gotten on Rosa's nerves, and when her temper acted up it wasn't easy to stop. Rosa witnessed Bruce's tirade against Veronica for simply showing him the truth and her opinion dropped even more of him. Some people could be so close minded.
"Aw, the poor little man can't handle the truth about Animus." Rosa mocked, before her voice turned louder and angrier. "Well tough luck, cause its as simple as Veronica put it. Different dimension, god and all that stuff is very much real."
Rosa stuck her hand out at Bruce. Her hand was now alight with flames. The flames were surrounding her hand, almost dancing to whatever tune Rosa was pushing through her body. She focused and the flames erupted, becoming bigger and hotter, changing from red to a bluish color, signaling that they were hot enough to melt any substance.
"And if you ever, and I damn well mean ever, speak like you did to Syl to anyone again, don't think I wont light you up right where you stand and watch you burn."
