As Myzrael flew away from the hospital, he took in all that was Animus City.
'Looks more like the city of the damned, from what ive seen' he murmured to himself.'
All the trees he saw were barren of leaves. There was a heavy mist surrounding the perimeter of the city, despite it being light out still. Many of the buildings were gray and crumbling. He saw the Church up ahead.
'Maybe the answer is not found in the light.. But grasped in the darkness. Ive been there before, and the Almighty has remained silent to me.'
He turned in midair and continued to survey the city from above. He was brought to thinking about his purpose here, his mission. He always had a mission...
The small red gem started glowing in Myzraels pocket.

'Hadriel, are we really going back down there'?
Hadriel looked at me. He was a robust young angel, with short curly hair and powder blue wings. 'Of course we are again. its fun to walk among them without them knowing. Just remember, dont touch anything' he said with a smile. 'This pool is quite hidden from the rest, in fact im the one who found it!' He said, puffing up his chest as he did so.
I turned my attention to the pool of water in front of me. Reflected in it was Earth, this planet that the Almighty had created. It was inhabited by these weird wingless creatures called humans, and the Almighty held them in the highest regard.
'Perhaps too high' a spiteful voice inside me said. I brushed it off.
'Well fine. But you know we arent allowed to do this till were both full fledged Seraphim you know. If Mastema finds out...'
'He wont Myzrael!' Hadriel persisted. 'Lets go!' and with that Hadriel plunged into the pool.
I took a deep sigh and jumped in as well. The world suddenly turned upside down and there was a sinking feeling in my stomach. I then caught myself and steadied. I was standing next to Hadriel in a giant empty arena, elaborate with all its arches and gleaming marble inlays.
'Where are we?' I asked.
'Im not sure. But we have to return to this exact spot to go back, ok? Ill see you later Myzrael!' And with that Hadriel ran off.
'We are better off alone', that same voice said to me. I pushed it out of my mind. 'Remember what the Almighty said: the voice of spite is the voice of the fallen one' I told myself. I started walking.
I liked looking at all the people on Earth. They were beautiful, not quite unlike the angels i am so accustomed to seeing. They laughed, they cried, they fought and they died. Even in death there is beauty, the realization that we must cherish what we have before they are taken by the Almighty forever. In a way i was angry, that all beauty had to die sometime. That these humans must content themselves with their mortality and limits on their bodies whilst we are immortal and are capable of things they can only imagine in their wildest dreams. In a way i felt selfish as i looked upon them, the old ones with their leathery skin, the young ones with their ruddy cheeks. The paramours who feast on each others flesh. Ah yes. Young i might be by angelic standards, but i am quite well versed in that area.
I walked through the busy streets, hearing voices and watching people pass through me. Im used to all the hubbub. As much as i like contradicting Hadriel to come down here, i guess i just like arguing. I spent the whole day just walking around observing people. Hadriel and I dont fly down here. It might catch the attention of the angels watching earth and its nice to feel like one of the humans once in a while.
There are times i encounter other supernatural creatures as the humans call it down here. I once met a vampire called Vittorio, in this city too i believe. A beautiful name, i decided to adopt it as my human name should i ever become one. I was unceremoniously grabbed away from our first and last conversation by Raphael, and was given a stern warning never again to speak to creatures of the night such as him. 'They have sworn an oath against the Almighty, to destroy all that he has created, and spread discord on Earth. Never again Myzrael. Or you shall pay the price for curiosity' Raphael told me, fire in his eyes. I never again saw Vittorio, yet my curiosity remained. Is knowledge such a sin?
I made my way back to the Colosseum (as i found out it was called) and Hadriel was already waiting for me. 'Lets go lets go before Mastema comes. I heard hes monitoring this pool tonight' Hadriel said.
We were both enveloped by white light and when i came to i was leaning over the pool with Hadriel by my side.
'Ill see you tomorrow then Myzrael. Bye!' Hadriel cried out with a wave, then he flew off.
Slowly i stood up. My silver hair was getting longer. Soon id be taking the initiation rights to become a Seraphim. I turned, and started flying away from the pool. White feathers fell from my wings and floated on the surface of the water...

'A memory?' Myzrael asked himself as he came to. 'I was the small one with white wings? It all seems so long ago. And so unreal'.
Myzrael brushed it off. He continued flying around the city. He opened up his mind, and actively scanned for other beings. His head suddenly hurt.
'Damn it. I havent fully developed my powers on Earth yet..'
He slowly descended, landing on what looked to be as a house. His feet hit the roof softly, and he crouched.
