She landed on the floor with a thump, the bedsheets landing on her head and muffling her groan.
The vampire dragged herself onto her knees, cradling her pounding head in her hands. She tilted her head back, the sheet falling to the floor as she opened her blood-red eyes.
She blinked at the ceiling, her hands pausing at her temples.
This ceiling was not hers. In fact, she didn't recognise it at all.
She let her head fall back into a more natural position, turning her head cautiously in case the pounding headache got worse.
The ceiling wasn't the only unfamiliar thing...Where the hell was she?
She frowned, her fingertips moving in small circles against her temples. How had she gotten here? Forget that, who was she? Where had she come from?
She clambered awkwardly to her feet, leaning on the bed for support, and stumbled over to a mirror.
Where they her eyes?
She gasped at her glowing red eyes, and received her second shock. She touched an unnaturally long incisor with a trembling finger.
Who...No...What was she?
She smothered her expression of horror when she noticed it in the mirror. This was no time to be going to pieces. She straightened, and felt cold metal against her throat. A medallion, of sorts...It was a Raven, wings spread and beak open wide.
The vampire let it fall, then moved to the window and threw it open.
She remembered nothing, but she needed a name. Some way to identify herself. The Medallion, of course.
Raven slipped out through the open window, her barefeet making not a sound on the grass five metres below. She frowned, eyes narowing, and locked onto the first building that jumped out at her.
It was a cluster of buildings, as it happened, their dark angles strangely foreboding
A shadow flitted across the street, its long black hair trailing out behind her as she ran soundlessly towards the hulking shape of the Abandoned Buildings.
