When Kure mentioned sugar, Syl grinned, so widely, that it almost stretched from ear to ear. Sugar was the easiest way to make Syl happy. It hugged Kure tightly, almost bone-crushingly hard. But as Syl didn't hear anything crack, it assumed that his ribcage was alright.
"WOW KURE! Thank you thank thank you thank you thank you!" it cried out in joy, "You're the bestest EVER Kure! I love sugar so much! Put in lots and lots and lots and I'll love to eat whatever you make, so long as it doesn't have any fibre."
It laughed cheerfully as it hugged him even tighter.
"Thank you thank you thank you Kure!" said Syl, its grin only stretching wider, eager and innocent, "I can't wait!"

Kankure smiled, “Don’t get too hyper, I don’t think the person who owns this lovely house would appreciate foot print on the ceiling.” He laughed, implying that Syl would no sooner bounce off the walls for sugar than to just wait for it. He stretched, then walked out of the bedroom, his Hakama tightly drawn around him. He came to the kitchen, it was neatly organized, food in the pantry, and dishes lined up in glass pantries. Kankure turned on the water, placing only two fingers under it to test the temperature. It was perfect for tea, which he highly craved.
He took the tea pot that was already on the stove and filled it with water, then set it on the burner and put the heat on high. As the water started to boil, he searched around for tea packets, coming up with honey flower tea packets. He smiled, setting the small box on the counter, then went to the fridge, which, was luckily full of food. Fruits, meat, yogurt, juices… It was a wonder that this apartment was vacant.
Kankure took the juice out, wondering if Syl would want juice or tea. Either way, both were sugary, and then there was the fact Syl would dump spoon fulls of sugar into his drink until it could barely soak up anymore. He smiled at the thought, taking out two cups, then went to the freezer. There was a few popsicles and a large tub of ice cream in there. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Syl downed that within a half hour or less.

Syl grinned at Kure and followed him into the kitchen, seeking sugar. It followed him by literally leaping after him, knocking over several pieces of furniture along the way. But it soon picked itself up and it leapt into the kitchen, almost tackling Kure while he was preparing the tea. It giggled, before releasing him and exploring the kitchen.
“But I love sugar, Kure! Sugar is the bestest bestest thing you could ever taste! You can feel chocolate and ice cream and frozen yogurt and candies and lollies and candies and fruit-flavoured gummy bears and sugar tablet thingies and…!”
Syl went on, naming every sweet imaginable, in no particular order. It opened cupboards at random, poking its head into them in search of sweets and yelping in surprise when it hit its head or when it accidentally slammed its hand into the hard side of a frying pan. Syl was still ignorant of how kitchens worked… normally it was in the living room amusing itself with Kiel while Asri prepared dinner. Now it was poking around in the kitchen looking for sweets, in all the wrong places. In fact, it was a while before Syl could even find the pantry, wherein it began pulling out snacks at random and nibbling at them one by one. Syl threw out the one it didn’t like (mostly chips and anything containing any amount of fibre) and devouring the things it did. Syl was particularly fond of chocolate and sweet hard candies – the sweeter the better.
“… And candy canes and sweet gum and jellies!” it finished, grinning as it stuffed itself with sweets (especially chocolates and hard and soft candies like gummy bears and gum drops) from the pantry. “You can just feel the sugar melt in your mouth and it’s so good and sweet and happy that you can help but want more. Oooh… can I have some tea! With lots and lots and lots of sugar! Tell me when the tea’s ready! MMmm… Sugar is the best!”

Kankure watched it for a moment, then laughed. “You need to be more careful.” He said, gently kissing Syl’s head where he had hit it from the pantry. “We wouldn’t want you to loose any more of your memory.” He took out a spoon from the drawer and opened the freezer. “Sit down and eat some ice-cream before you loose a finger.” he opened the lid and put the spoon down on the table. The black tea kettle started to whistle and he took it off the stove. Steam was pouring out of the edges of the lid and the nose.
He put the tea bags into the cups and poured the hot water in, steam billowing up from the cups in a cloud of excited evaporation. Dark brown swirls of flavor seeped from the bags into the water, darkening it as it soaked in more. “How much sugar do you want in your tea?” Kankure asked as he opened the lid to the sugar container.

Syl grinned at Kure, motioning towards the ice cream. It then grabbed the spoon and scarfing down the ice cream at a rapid rate. Ice cream had sugar and no fibre. Therefore, it was on Syl's menu. And what's more, this was chocolate flavoured ice cream... one of Syl's favourites... It was actually chocolate, vanilla and straberry all crammed into one adorable package, the vanilla on one side, the strawberry on the other and the chcolate in between... but Syl ate the chocolate part first.
"Aww... come on Kure," it said, "my amnesia can't get worse than it already is. And I don't feel pain from geting punched or hit in the head and all that. So don't worry!"
It leaned towards Kure as the tea kettle began to whistle. That meant that the tea was almost ready! YAY! Syl grinned at Kure. It loved sugar to the point where it could easily ingest massive amounts of it in a short amount of time. It thought that he already knew the answer to that, but it wouldn't hurt to remind him...
"I'd like as much sugar as the tea can hold!" said Syl, "I love sugar! It's so sweet and tasty and it's the bestest thing ever to eat! Don't you think Kure?"

Kankure laughed and started to stir the sugar into the tea. “You’ve got quite the sweet tooth. I would think you’d get sick by now.” he said with a smile. Syl truly was a mystery, or so, for now. It was a wonder how it kept such innocence even though it was an adult. He finished stirring the tea and handed Syl its drink, which was full of sugar, Kankure’s was only a bit saturated with sugar. He took a sip of his tea, holding it the way he usually did. Old habits die hard. He let out a satisfied sigh and put the cup on the table. “I don’t know why, but it feels like I haven’t had anything to drink in such a long time.” He smiled. “So, what do you want to do today?”

Syl grinned at him.
"Sugar doesn't make me sick," it said, "anti-magic poisons and water overdose makes me sick. And fibre just makes me throw up because I can't digest it."
It greedily gulped down the tea as it devoured a good half of the container of ice cream. Syl's diet was comprised mostly of water and sugar, with some fats thrown in. Syl could digest fats, but it took a while and often made it feel drowsy when it was trying to digest too much of it. It shrugged when Kure asked why he felt like he didn't have anything to drink in a long while.
"Maybe it's because you don't eat much," said Syl, "which is kinda sad as you can't taste the deliciousness of sugar as often as I do. As for what we could do today... hmm..."
Syl looked upwards, its chinresting on its fist, a clear sign that it was thinking.
"We could explore, you know. I think that the park is full of mysteries, and we could go shopping in the mall or visit the church, or perhaps visit Asri in the hospital, or maybe check out the rides at that abandoned carnival or maybe we can go that museum..."
It paused, indecisive, unsure of which one to chose.

“Who’s Asri? A friend of yours?” Kankure asked. He smiled, “We can explore if you want. I’m sure there is something interesting we can find.” he finished his cup of tea, then stood up and put it in the sink. “Lets go to the park first, then we can go to the mall and find you some lasting sweets.”

Syl grinned at Kure. He really didn't remember at all.
"Asri's my older brother," said Syl, "we're not directly related, but he was adopted into our family a long time ago."
Syl finished the last of its tea and ice cream along with Kure, rushing so that it wouldn't keep him waiting. It nodded at him when he proposed going to the park first. As the park was one of Syl's favourite hangout in all of Animus, it had no objections whatsoever. In fact, it had Kure spend the night here because this apartment was close to it...
"Alright, we'll go the park first," it said cheerfully, as it held his hand, "come on. Let me lead the way... I think that there's something that you should see there... If you're ready, we can leave right now."

Kankure chuckled, “Alright. We can leave now if you want.” He said as Syl took his hand and started to walk to the door. Kankure followed happily, smiling as he watched Syl lead.

Syl smiled as it grabbed Kure's hand, dragging him along the streets, watching as the streets and mindless passed them. Syl laughed as the wind blew around them sending leaves flying through the hair and tugging at their hair and clothes. Syl felt that it was refreshing, as it lead him onward.
When they arrived at the park, it led him along a stone path that led deeper in the jungle that was the park. Wild flowers and weeds were everywhere, along with the odd perennial survivor that had somehow managed to survive. Plants were everywhere, growing everywhere they could, even though the cracks in the stone path. It was like a never-ending sea of green, which flecks of colour from the flowers.
Syl stopped walking when they were a few meters into the park, tugging at Kure's sleeve.
"I was just wanting to tell you," said Syl, with a concerned expression on its face, "this park is home to mosquitoes because of its stagnant water. As it's still techincally morning, there may be some in there, and... well... they don't bite me, but I don't know about you."

“It’s alright.” Kankure said with a smile. “Wherever you want to go is fine. Just as long as it isn’t infested with the living dead. I’d think that would be a bit creepy.” He said and laughed slightly, but obviously had a problem with zombies.

Syl grinned and held his hand gently.
"Don't worry, I don't like them either," it said, "but if you have any mosquito troubles, just tell me and I'll shoo them away. It'll be temporar, but it's better than nothing. I'm sorry that I didn't bring any mosquito repellent... if I could read labels properly, maybe I can avoid mistaking an air freshener for it. I don't know why I have these hallucinations, why I can't read anything properly, but... I don't want you to get sick."
It leaned against him, burting its head in his chest, as its long hair blew along in the wind.
"I've been here tons of times," said Syl, "I know this place really well, but I don't want you to get lost. What I'm going toshow to you is very special, so it's hard to find unless you know where to look."

“It’s alright Syl, I won’t get sick or lost. I’m sure if I’m close to you I’ll be fine.” Kankure replied softly, gently hugging Syl in reassurance. “If you really want to show me this place, then I’ll come with you with no complaint. And if you feel that bad about mistaking labels for other things, I can help you with your reading and daydreaming.” He said.
“Now, go ahead and show the way to this special place.” He said and smiled warmly.
