Asri smiled at Selice and Zachary.
"It's good to see you both again," said Asri "And Zachary, try telling that to Azrael. Az cares very much about the order of everything, and and souls are a crucial resource. By over-reaping, Selice disrupted its activities and collected souls she shouldn't have. It's all about balance, because Azrael and its reapers aren't the only ones gathering souls, as demons and agnels do it to, as well as necromancers of various factions. However, as the Angel of Death, Azrael and its reapers are assigned to handle most of the workload. By overreaping, that balance is disrupted in Heaven's favour and it causes a lot of trouble for Azrael as it becomes a lot harder for it to track which soul goes where, because souls become harder to track when they're outside Azrael's zone of influence. And look, destroying an entire village is bad enough, but according to the Reaper Archives, Selice has reaped three times as many souls as she's supposed to. That's... a huge amount of souls."
Asri stopped, smiling shyly.
"Ah, sorry for the lecture," he said to Zachary. "I couldn' help myself."
He then turned to Selice, smiling. He was nervously playing with his hair as he stood in front of the cell, saddened that she was caged like a pet bird.
"Selice, I've got some good news and some bad news," he said, "which do you want to hear first?"

Selice bit her lower lip. I suppose the bad news first she whispered softly to Asri. What could he have found that made this whole thing worse than it already was? Hell, she was the one that took all those notes, filed all those papers, she had never realized there was something in there that could actually be grounds for her unmaking.

Asri smiled grimly as he dropped his bag to the ground, rubbing his sore shoulders. That bag was sure damn heavy with all those papers in it.
"The bad news is that there's no way that I can prove you innocent," he said, "I have the evidence for that... pretty much shows that you reaped three times more souls than you were supposed to... I don't think that I need to tell you how many... millions at least... While your reasons were perfectly legit, you also made some important mistakes in judging which souls to send where, and Azrael is understandably mad at you for that. It's a great deal of trouble for it to clean up after what you did."
He sighed, as he rummaged through the evidence and showed her the appropriate papers. One of which was the file of a man called 'Emmanuel Sanchez,' a convicted criminal who committed murder and was imprisoned for it. What happened to his soul when he died in prison? He was sent to Heaven. While it was true that he repented for his sins, he didn't repent enough. He was due to spend a bit of time in Hell before he could be admitted to Heaven.
"Look at this one, for example," said Asri, "the soul of this man sinned by killing his wife in a fit of rage, yet you took pity on his pain and sent him to heaven anyways. It's not good judging... and it's disrupted the balance of managing souls. I'm sorry, Selice, but you'll be found guilty no matter what I do... the evidence is all there. And I doubt that the prosecution will be dumb enough not to see this... It's worse than I thought, really... This isn't good judging at all, and applied to this many souls... I think you know what this means... I would delve into the details, but I'm afraid that it would bore Zachary here."

Selice's face just sort of went blank, her eyes taking on a sort of lifeless look. She loosened her grip on the cells bars as she slowly sank to her knees. "I....I'm going to be exectucted...." she said softly, faint silvery tears forming in her eyes. "...oh god..." she whispered, breaking down into sobs, losing all of her composure. Her body shook like a leaf, her tears running down her face like waterfalls. "Well....whats the good news Asri?" she asked between sobs. "Have you found a way that they'll possibly kill me quickly?" she asked a dark sarcastic tone filling her normally soothing voice.
Thoughts raced through her head. That name.... That name sounded so familiar and she vaguely remembered the case. That man had repented while in prison. He had accepted the Almighty into his life. That Man died with a cleaned conscience....Selice had gained clearance to bring him to heaven. She had the seal of approval from The Holy Spirit in her ledger to prove it. That was the case with all the souls she inquired about. If there was ever a soul in question she went to The Spirit and she got approval...Always. She continued to work out the details, trying to remember every case where she had asked for Salvation for certain damned souls... Something wasn't right here.

Asri smiled.
"Don't look so depressed," said Asri, "most of the Fallen I deal with are actually guilty of their crimes. It's not unique to your case, and I've dealt with this before."
He put the documents back and pulled out some more, mostly files documenting some of her many reaping exploits.
"The good news is that your reasons for doing this are perfectly legit," said Asri, "the authorization to reap souls in certain areas and events are perfectly fine; it's mostly the quantity and the judging that are wrong. In addition, most of your work beforehand was of excellent quality... Your efficiency has really been an asset to heaven, Selice, and you should be proud of that. Then there is the possibility that the documents concerning the judgment were tampered with, but I don't think that I can prove that with the time I have now."
Asri then put the documents back and approached Selice's cell, holding one of the bars with one hand, still smiling. He wanted to hug her, to touch her, to assure her that everything was alright. But he knew that that was impossible.
"And the other good news," said Asri, "is that while your crime could be considered... big... it really isn't as bad as treason, like plotting against Heaven and leading an army from Hell here... Judges tend to punish that harshly. Very harshly. Hence, by my experience, I think that your punishment is not execution or banishment to Hell. At worst, you'll get stripped of your power and sent down to the mortal world as a human. The best is naturally to get away with it completely, but more realistically, you'll temporarily get suspended from your reaper duties for a certain period of time. How long is arbitrary. It depends on the sympathy we win from the judge and jury. Other possible punishments include keeping your powers and getting kicked out of Heaven, having to do good deeds for Heaven to redeem yourself under my supervision and that of the contract, plain old prison time or a demotion in Heavenly rank, among others."
Asri paused to take a deep breath. He looked at gently, happily, not a trace of worry showing on his face. Of course, his inside feelings were a bit different - Asri wasn't sure if he was ready to confront one of his longest term employers.
"Oh, and one more thing," he said, "you're a first time offender. The jury tends to go easier on those. And after all this, it's all a matter of striking up a deal with Azrael and making sure this doesn't happen again. So don't worry. It's all a matter of negotiation."

Tears still dripped from Selice's cold, blue eyes. "Asri...I had clearance for all of those souls. My judgment was never unauthorized and I do have the proof! I just need my ledger. But it's back at my house. Asri, you could prove my innocence of those souls with that book. I know you can!" she said softly. Selice reached into her pocket and took out the old Victorian key that opened her home. "Here. Take this. My ledger is hidden behind several other books on the book shelf in my bedroom. Look behind the Lord of the Rings...you'll find it there!" she added. Selice carefully passed the key through the bars to Asri.

Zachery listened and cursed under his breath. “Well, I guess I can kiss my ass goodbye.” He shifted positions so that he was laying on his side, head resting on his hand. This wasn’t his first time he had tried to kill an angel, and, he had plotted against heaven at one point, then there was the fact he did murder an angel, a fallen, but still an angel. He’d done many counts of felony by heaven standards, so it was likely they would kill him or let him rot in jail, or make him a slave to Messiah… which might be the worst punishment as far as Zachery was concerned. He smiled, obviously not too worried. He’d been to one of these trials before. Blasted right through it… literally. The thought made him laugh slightly.
“Asarek, take care of her. She’s one of a kind, and I’m not speaking of her gorgeous looks either.” Zachery said to Asri. “I’m probably not getting out of here alive… they’ve already got a lot of dirt on me by now. Destruction of property, missed court date, murder, attempted murder, assault, attempted war, etcetera etcetera..” It wasn’t very surprising that he did this things. He was protective of his family back when they were still with him. Then he turned into an emotionless rebellious teenager, and then a protector of what he believed in. Either way, each phase he caused some sort of trouble for angels.
He stretched out on the floor with the blanket, still freezing cold. However, if worse scenario came, he already had a plan for escape. Which was a very highly proof one too unless a group of angels caught him in the act before he could warm himself. Zachery smiled to himself. If he succeeded, it would be the third time he got out of heaven’s prison. But, he quickly got pulled from his thoughts as he heard the door open from where he had come in. He sat up slightly as he heard foot steps of a few people.
Messiah came up the isle, pissed off, a murderous look in his eyes as two angels dressed in dark green wear followed him. Most likely to make sure Messiah didn’t kill anyone or they were his servants. Either way, he didn’t look happy the slightest bit. One of his six wings look like it had been blasted off by an explosion, wrapped tightly with dark red blood seeping through at some spot, feathers poking through the bandages. The wing bellow that one was burnt, the others sliced into and wrapped around the wounds with a green stain where the healing paste was tenderly placed over the wound. His halo was cracked, burnt and turned into a bronze colors like a diseased blotched rash. His jet black short hair was smoothed back, bruises could be shown on his face where Zachery had punched him. He looked like hell had just spawned over him.
He didn’t even look at Asarek as he walked through, stopping at Zachery’s cell. His feathers twitched in anticipation and severe hate, his stare solid, able to run one’s blood cold. Zachery easily felt the sudden drop in his heart rate as he stared up at Messiah, but his smile quickly returned. “Why hello Pentagon.” He said, laying in his back looking at the fairly pissed angel, his nickname referring to his five wings since he had successfully taken one off and turned it to ash.
“Silence!” Messiah barked, his tone distasteful and obviously he wouldn’t tolerate anything from Zachery. “You’re private hearing starts in an hour, and at the end of it, I can guarantee, you will die.”
“I’m sorry to burst your bubble, Insolent One, but I already knew that.” Zachery replied smugly. “By the way… do you want your feathers back?” He asked, holding up the few feathers he managed to rip from Messiah’s now missing wing. He smiled as Messiah glared at him with hate that one couldn’t express. It almost felt like hate in physical form. Messiah looked back at the two and they flinched, but nodded and quickly went to Zachery’s cell, unlocking the cold bars and going to Zachery.
“Make the runt look presentable, we don’t need the court disgraced by this punk.” Messiah said, smirking as Zachery tried to resist their pull. The took the blanket from him, shackling his wrists together and pulling him to his feet, though, he couldn’t much walk, so, it was likely they would be either dragging or carrying him out. The two lifted him slightly and dragged him out, pausing in front of Messiah. “Try not to make them damage that pretty face any more.” Messiah said, patting Zachery’s cheek were the burn scar was. He jerked away, causing Messiah to smile. Zachery did fear him, after what Selice had told him, but that didn’t mean he still couldn’t fight.
As the tried dragging him away, Zachery set fire to one of the feathers and clenched it in his fist, warming his hands. Right then, he pulled apart the metal as sparks rained across the two angels. He smirked and used a spell to bind their hands and feet to the ground, then tried to run. But, he had forgotten the anklets, and tripped. He landed face first on the ground, but rolled just in time to see Messiah’s sword coming down towards him, green aura mist piling from the sword’s steel. Zachery put his arms above his head and quickly rolled away towards an empty cell, Messiah’s sword slicing through the hard floor like Swiss cheese. Zachery pulled himself up with the bars, struggling to walk.
The two angels got free of his weak binding and slammed both their shoulders into his back at full force, crushing him against the bars and knocking the wind from his lungs. He grimaced and slid down to the floor, coughing and wheezing.
“I should cut your head off here and now!” Messiah hissed, pointing his sword at Zachery’s neck, pressing it against his throat, blood dripped from the cut it was sawing. Zachery sat still on his hands and knees, not daring to breath. Messiah took his sword back quickly, sheathing it and pulling Zachery to his feet by the back of the shirt. “This little blemish will only push you further and closer towards death my hyper little friend.” He growled.
“I could always take another one of your wings for that comment!” Zachery snapped back at him.
“You are in no position to make threats.” Messiah replied, his cold eyes narrowing down on Zachery.
“Oh, you said the same thing right before I took the first one. Would you like to find out what happens next, or are you going to kindly let me free?” he replied smugly. Which, in return, he got a punch to the gut from Messiah. He coughed, the two angels grabbing hold of him before he could fall back to the ground. “Be glad I’m holding back boy. But your getting on my last nerve!” He growled between clenched teeth, then walked away first, leaving through the door.
Zachery smiled back at Selice and Asarek, “Don’t worry about me. I’ll be sure to break out soon enough. Until then, I’ll be seeing ya.” He said casually, even though he was a bit worried deep inside. He didn’t want to worry Selice an further, she had her own problems to deal with. And his were of no concern of hers. Zachery sighed as he was dragged away by the two angels. If only he had more time to warm up he would have been able to maybe used more of his powers. His chance was gone for now.

Asri smiled at Zachary. Fighting angels for family... heh... Asri had gotten away with a lot in Heaven bevause he simply wasn't expendable... he was too difficult to replace. He wasn't the only lawyer that worked in saving Fallen, but he was part of a slowly shrinking circle. Lawyers sometimes got killed by the very angels they were meant to save, or simply quit because it was too hard and dangerous... hence why Heaven did whatever it could to keep Asri working for them. Even if it meant letting him get away with murder. Not literally - just with surprisingly light punishments.
"Alright Zachary! I hope to see you alive again soon!"
He turned to Selice and took the keys, gingerly placing them in a secure pocket in his bag.
"I'll do my best, my lady," he said, "if that can prove your innocence, I'll be happy to make use of them. Just keep in mind that we have conflicting evidence... and I'm not sure if I'll have the time to organize them..."
He sighed and smiled at her.
"There's no time to waste," he said, "I'll be back as soon as I can! Just keep your spirits up, Selice!"
And with that, Asri turned on his heal and ran out of the prison, glancing warily at the shackled fallen. He wished to help them, but he knew that it was beyond his power... Even if Asri hadn't existed from the dawn in time, he knew how much he could take. Two was usually the limit of contracts he could bear holding at once that he was active in. As in, trying to fulfill. Asri already had hundreds of contracts that were still in effect, because the contractees were still in the process of paying him.
Asri was now at his limit of contracts that he was trying to fulfill. He had Selice, and he had some other business with Azrael and Hell that he spent his spare time trying to take care of. Don't worry, Selice. I'm here for you... Hang in there...
____________________________________________________________________________________
Meanwhile, some distance away, a portal opened out of nowhere, crackling with dark energy. The sound of a thunderstorm echoed from within as it grew larger and larger... It looked like a void inside, pitch black and uninviting. It continued to grow, causing some of the passing angels to look at it in worry. It was only when a innocent-looking thing popped out of it that the angels looked at each other in surprise.
That thing happened to be androgynous, dressed from head to toe in red, and had gleaming red eyes. It was Syl alright, and it now more a new asian-style outfit that Kiel picked out for it. If it was going out on a formal occasion, why not dress for it?
"OW!" yelled Syl, "MR. TOPPY HAT, YOU COULD HAVE BEEN A LITTLE GENTLER!"
It grumbled irritably as it got to its feet, straighting out the fabric of its outfit and brushing out the dust, taking a few moments to calm itself down. It then looked around, realizing taht numerous angels were staring at it. It gave them an embarrassed smile, clasping its hands behind its back.
"Um... hi?"

Selice offered Asri a warm smile through her tears. "I believe you can, Asri. Good Luck" she said softly. She watched as he ran down the hallway and out of sight for the second time that day. "But please, hurry back" she whispered.
The cell block was quiet, well...it really wasn't but it was lonely now with Asri and Zac gone. Selice paced back and forth in her cell for awhile, before finally just sitting back down on her cot, staring into space.

Asri stopped running when it came to him... Selice... she didn't tell him her address! Without that, how was he supposed to know what house here was her house? Who was he to ask? It would take forever to find her house! Seeing as Selice didn't have that many relationships. Groaning out in frustration, Asri ran back to Selice.
"SELICE!" he said he approached her cell, "what's your address? Where is your house? Is it even in the same sphere?"
His heart was beating furiously... how could he be so absentminded?! Selice... I don't want you to see me as some idiot... I can't... I don't want to... It's... Asri's thoughts were a mess... he couldn't let it get in the way of his work... Otherwise... Otherwise... He coudln't bear to finish that thought either...

Zachery was dragged off away across heaven to the courts. The building was massive and white, large columns occupying the front. Angels flew in an out of the front door, some attending court dates for minor reasons, others attending being a witness, and even few that wanted to watch. But it was rare for angels to watch because of their busy schedules. Zachery sighed, he felt like a rag doll being carried like this. Both of the angels flew with Zachery in their hands, landing at the steps of the enormous court. He still had to be made ‘presentable’, and that wasn’t something he was looking forward to.
The walked him up the steps and into the large double doors made of glass, the inside was just as clean as the outside. The floors were shiny and looked brand new, tiles with marble as a desk was not too far away from the entrance. There were angels flying past, few walking, most of them were carrying files or briefcases. Most likely they were not the defending side. There were few angels willing to defend fallen angels or offenders. A few Grim Reapers walked around, retrieving the ones to be executed and bringing them somewhere else to die. Most of which were sent to hell for their treasons. ‘This’ll be fun…’ Zachery thought as he was forced to walk across the hall and through one of the doors. It led to a thinner hall, most of them were doors to private hearings, others to court rooms, few to private rooms.
They walked Zachery into one of the private rooms, which was fairly small. A closet, a chair, a desk, books, and a mirror. Pft. They obviously didn’t like Zachery much. He sighed and sat down in the chair obediently. Perhaps this was the day they caught him. One of the angels left the room and stood outside as another came in with a pair of cloths and.. Makeup? “Jesus Christ, he wasn’t kidding when he meant to make me look presentable…” He got a cold stare for using the name in vein. But he could care less.
The seamstress glared at Zachery, obviously not happy with her job. It seemed like almost everyone new Zachery so far. It was a great possibility he would be sentenced to death, and, probably killed the moment he was found guilty. It wouldn’t be much of a surprise. He was forced to get dressed, his scar dressed up under makeup and concealed. Making him look just as he did before Animus’ screwed up circus days. It brought him a bittersweet smile. He looked normal again… but back then he was just an unemotional bastard. He sighed as he looked at himself. His hair was jelled down and smoothed back, wearing a black suit with a white flannel shirt and black tie, black and polished dress shoes. He liked the pants, but the suit and hair was a bit much. As soon as the seamstress left and the two angels were standing outside, he quickly got to work.
He took off his jacket and shirt, tossing them aside and picking up his black T-shirt with a strange skater logo. He ran his fingers through his hair, trying to get the goop out of his hair as he started to spike it again to it’s original state, but a little more flat. But didn’t mess with the concealer over his burn scar. Zachery sighed and waited. But it wasn’t long until another angel came in. She was wearing a business suit, holding files in her hands. Her long hair was tied back in a loose ponytail, rectangle frameless glasses over her dark green eyes. “Your Private Hearing has been moved up. It will start in a few moments. Please come with me.” She said. Zachery smirked. They had unshackled him, which was a dumb move, but the time wasn’t now to take a chance. So he followed willingly. The two guard angels following them closely.
The turned down the hall and into a room. It wasn’t too large, but there stood a judge behind a desk. Wings unfolded and white robes on. A five people jury, no lawyers, and then there was Messiah… It must have been already decided he was going to die. But it seems they just wanted to state all his offences first or something. Zachery mentally rolled his eyes and walked up to his seat, sitting down with the two officers next to him. They put his arms behind his back and put them in thick metal cuffs so this time they wouldn’t break so easily to heat.
“Here we go again…” Zachery mumbled as he sat there. Messiah looked pissed because Zachery wasn’t wearing his suit. That must have been a blow to his pride, but then again, they should have known he would do this. Everyone fell silent as the judge cleared his throat and sat down. The woman angel from earlier sitting across from Zachery with files in her hands. Obviously the one going to convince them to kill him.
“Zachery Zaphener… here you are again.” The judge said, brushing his brown hair from his face and leaning forward slightly. “Numerous counts of felony my boy. Lets get started.” He sat down and motioned for the woman to rise. “Stand Maya.” Zachery felt his heart stop as he heard the name. He had found resemblances but.. Could it be her? Zachery looked over as he watched Maya stand up and walk towards the judge’s stand. “We all know Zachery has done countless acts of treason. Attempted murder, murder, assault, and many more acts of felony. And this isn’t his first time in court for this either. It would be senseless to let him walk away after he deliberately destroyed the southern sector of the court and ran away.” She said, handing the judge all the files. Which.. It was a pretty large stack.
Zachery didn’t hear any of this. He could only watch Maya…. Maya.. His human lover. She had died years before his village was destroyed. She was killed by another human. But now… look at her. She’s an angel, and a lawyer too. She was beautiful. He couldn’t help but stare. It seemed as if they deliberately used Maya to get him killed and sent to hell. It was painful to be in the same room with her at these circumstances. Did she recognize him? Did she remember?
“Zachery!? Zachery Zaphener! I will not tolerate day dreaming!” The judge shouted, snapping Zachery out of his thoughts. He nodded, piercing his lips together. “Stand and speak up your defense.” He ordered. Messiah was watching with greedy eyes, wanting to see Zachery humiliated and die for attacking him.
Zachery didn’t stand, he had no reason to. “Only one reason I did all this. To protect the ones close to me. That’s it. I wont argue because you’ve already made up your minds. But I don’t care if I break all your damned illogical rules to make sure my family and friends are safe and out of your harm!” Zachery glared at the judge and leaned back in his chair. This was going to be fairly long since it was time for the list. Oh how he hated this part.
“Zachery Zaphener, you’ve had many different treasons. And I will list them, your punishment will be decided on the degree of each felony.
You’ve had thirty seven counts assaults on angels, forty-six counts of attempted murder, twenty-three counts of murder, two-hundred and eighty seven counts of Arson, thirteen counts of abduction, and three counts grand theft.” He said and sat back as the jury mumbled to each other. Then they spoke up all at the same time, “We find Zachery Zaphener… Guilty of all charges.” they said, serious expressions on their faces. Messiah grinned, now he only had to be punished with execution, or something else even worse, then he would be satisfied.
“Stand as I announce your sentence.” The judge said. Zachery was forced up by one of the guards, Maya and the jury also stood. Messiah only a spectator, still sat.
“Zachery, I sentence you to twenty years under Messiah’s control for attempted murder and assault of an the general of the few section of our army. He is allowed to give upon you death if you try to escape or attempt to assault anyone further.” He said. Zachery had just gotten what he feared most.. He was now a slave of the man he hated and tried to kill. Messiah grinned, this was perfect. Now all he had to do was slowly break Zachery with his tasks and when he runs, kill him.
Maya and the jury were obviously not satisfied though. Zachery smirked, “I disagree my friends.” The judge was confused for a moment, but quickly got the gist of what he was saying. “Grab him!” Zachery started to struggle, but then the metal broke and the hot sludge leaked across the room as it sprayed across the floor and wall. He stood up and smiled, dodging the lunges of the guards. He mumbled something, as his body temperature was finally back to normal, and he would be able to use his powers. He grinned as white petals came out of nowhere, raining around them. They clouded up and attacked everyone in the room except Maya, turning into glue and binding everyone to the nearest solid object.
He spread his fire wings, letting the white flames send sparks across the room and set the fire on fire. “Good luck with the punishment Messiah.” He laughed and flew across the room and exploded out the door. Smoke engulfed the halls as he flew through them, the gray clouds swirling behind him as he moved through them. A loud siren sounded in the courts, Grim reapers and guards all scattered as the message that a potential Angel-Slaughterer was loose. He smirked as he saw a few angels dressed in black flying behind him, weapons at the ready. He quickened his pass, flying through crowds of panicking angels, avoiding setting them on fire with his own wings since they were innocent and hadn’t done a damn thing.. Yet.
He laughed and broke into the main hall with a large explosion, only to be meet with about seventeen Grim Reapers, swords, bows, scythes, all ready as their feathers twitched in anticipation. Zachery laughed, “You’ve got to do better!!” He pulled his hands out, two large fire orbs of white and red swirling together as they became denser and so compact, the slightest spark might blow up the entire main hall. He smirked, obviously getting their attention. “Say hello to god for me.” He laughed at his pun. He was just full of jokes today. He smashed both of the fire’s together, the entire hall was full of fire and dust in seconds, Zachery was out the front doors and flying around people at high speed. He hit a few angel’s sending them down through the clouds before they caught themselves and cursed at Zachery.
He looked back for a second, seeing all the grim reapers following him. This was a fun day after all. He randomly three balls of fire behind him, trying to nab off a few of them. But they dodged skillfully. These bastard reapers were more skilled than they looked. Zachery increased his speed, zipping around buildings and towards a small figure. Who was it? As he got closer, he recognized it as Syl! Zachery dodged a few daggers and blasts of ice. “Syl!! Watch out!!” He dove for Syl, quickly grabbing it by the arm and yanking it with him in the air. They through more streams of ice. Zachery hugged Syl close as he did a barrel role, barely avoiding the attack as he crashed through a few flying angels. Today was just full of them!
He mentally apologized and kept going with Syl in his arms. “Sorry ‘bout that! Hold on until I can get you to Asri. I can’t carry you forever.” Zachery smiled, but got hit in the back with something hard. He spiraled forward out of control, gripping onto Syl with all his strength to make sure it didn’t fall or get hurt. It was obvious that Zachery wanted Syl away from destruction and safe with Asri, as so why he was doing the trouble of carrying it. He spread his wings and did a quick right turn, circling a building and diving into the clouds. The wind whipping at his hair as the makeup over his scar started to fade. “I’m sure we can find Asri at the cell block, but I can’t go inside. I hope your okay with me dropping you off.” He laughed as he dodged around attacks, spiraling and rolling almost like a rollercoaster as he came towards the prison.
A large sword sailed past him, nailing into the ground in front of the building. ‘My god that was close.’ he thought, but kept going. This wasn’t the time to chicken out. “See ya Syl!!” He zoomed towards the ground and rolled on it with Syl, but released it and let it sit there as it pushed off the ground and kept flying. “Take care!!” Zachery disappeared through the clouds. Many angel’s zoomed past Syl and followed Zachery, throwing elemental attacks and weapons.

Selice looked up when Asri approached her cell yet again. She stood and walked over to the cell bars. A warm smile crossed her face for a moment. "Of course" she said softly. Selice raised her hand and flicked her wrist. In a burst of silver flames a small silver card appeared in her hands, her address written out in a black ink. "It is in the same sphere. From the archives building I'm about a 20 minute flight. Go back to the archives, make a right. up in the Golden Hills. My home is the grey marble with the red and white roses in the garden" she said softly. "Thank you again Asri" she added, reaching through the bars as far as her chains would let her, just brushing her gloved fingertips along his cheek.

Asri sighed in relief, but his face took on a reddish tint when she touched his face with her gloved hand... He could feel his heart beating in his chest, and fear in his heart. He didn't want to fail Selice, unlike many of his contractees. In those cases, he wasn't as desperate to avoid failure. He was more accepting of it, knowing that while he was skilled, he would not be able to win all of his cases. He would not be able to save every Fallen, but he tried. He was one of the few angels that tried to get them to redeem themselves and rejoin god's realm, forgiven for what they had done. But with Selice...
"Of course, my lady," said Asri, "I'll go immediately... thank you very much."
With his own gloved hand he reached out through the bars and touched Selice's own face.
"Please, take care of yourself here..." he said, "I can only wish that I can sleep in piece tonight with the images of all these Fallen about to be condemned, when I can do nothing to help them. Consider yourself very lucky, Selice. Unlike with Casey over there."
He pointed his thumb at the angel in the cell in front of Selice. She was painfully thin and weakened, her wings thin and dirtied, her clothes reduced to rags. She looked at them with pale blue eyes, seething with jealously.
"Casey and I were acquaintances before she fell," said Asri, "as my work often lets me meet a lot of new people. She was one of my potential clients due to being involved in an illegal business in Heaven. You can speak with her while I'm gone, but I'm afraid that she's not the cheeriest angel on the block."
"Shut your mouth, worm," hissed Casey venemously,."You don't understand what it's like to be here for months. You don't know what it's like to suffer for your crimes. Especially since you've-"
Asri paled.
"I'd rather not get into that, Casey," he said nervously. "No time to waste; I think that I must get going now. Thank you very much Selice!"
And with that, he ran out of the prison as fast as he could bear to run. He lied when he said that Casey was an acquaintance of his. Casey, or Casellia, was actually a person from his past, one of his... well... it would be a stretch to call them 'friends.' She was always the nosy one, hence how she knew things about him that other angels in Heaven didn't. And that... was a bad thing... Dammit, Casey, thought Asri, of all places, why must you be here? After what I've done, how would Iorai think of me now? He sighed. She was one of the few people that he could actually trust when he was human, and one reason why he became an angel in the first place... Such good times... where was she now? Was she even still alive...?
"Dammit Casey," whispered Asri, "dammit..."
Casey watched in satisfaction as Asri ran off.
"Damn jerk," she said to Selice, "he's always up to something, isn't he? Just like he was before he screwed himself over. You... you're fond of him aren't you?"

It was all a blue to Syl when it saw Zachary heading towards it, picking it carrying it to another location, dropping it off all of a sudden. It sat down where he had dropped it, dazed. Why did Zachary carry it? Syl pondered the question, before getting up and flying right after him. It sensed Asri nearby, but thought it best to not disturb him... if he was in Heaven now, it was for business. Syl would only rejoin him if a) it was bored or 2) he had some free time. Now, it had to find out what happened in Zachary, and why he was in Heaven in the first place. "STRIPEY!" yelled Syl, as it caught up with him, "why are these angels chasing after you?! Is it because their cookies?!"
It skillfully weaved around the angels chasing him, until they were flying side by side.
"Are their cookies sweet, Stripey?" asked Syl, "And why are these people chasing you? Did you steal from their candy store?"

A faint giggle escaped Selice as Asri went red from her touch. Only two reasons why he would have blushed. 1. He was uncomfortable with Selice touching him. Understandable, she could kill with a touch, but still. 2. He cared for her.... that would be nice. Like....really nice.
Her gaze turned to Casey for a moment. Truly a terrifying sight, And who knew, that could end up being her if the court found her guilty and sentenced her to hard time.
The same deep crimson that had over taken Asri's features took over Selice's as well when he returned her caress. She turned her eyes down, so she was staring at the floor tiles. When she looked up finally she wore a very faint, innocent smile. God was this flirting? Was she actually flirting while in prison?! Quickly smile disappeared and she began to mentally kick herself over and over for picking such a terrible time to act like an actual girl. But that wasn't even the worst of it....
Without thinking
By a total slip of the tongue
"Asri, every second I am with you I consider myself lucky" slipped from Selice's lips.
It took a moment for the shock of what she had just said to kick in. A deep burning red took over Selice's cheeks and she raised her gloved hands to her lips, covering her mouth just in case something else tried to slip out.
Her brain screamed at her. QUICK TOPIC CHANGE NOW! THINK OF SOMETHING! ANYTHING JUST DO IT QUICK. WHAT TO CHANGE IT TOO?!?! Selice's mind ran in thousands of different directions at once. Something simple.... OH, That would work. Requiem!
"Don't worry about it Asri. OH! Quick thought... when you go into the house. Be careful....Requiem gets a little playful sometimes" she said softly just before Asri slipped away from the bars and took off once more. "I really hope he's not allergic to dogs" she added softly, almost talking to herself. Nice Selice, you played it cool....he'll only think you're sort of insane now.
A few moments passed till Selice's attention was grabbed by Casey. "well I certainly wouldn't call him a jerk..." Selice said softly. She was curious. Obviously this Casey knew Asri. Selice decided she was going to try and get a bit of info on her new lawyer. "Well yeah...that whole little outburst. I...I really do care for him" she said softly, a pale blush crawling over her face yet again. "Anyway, how do you know Asri?" selice asked, trying to change the subject to a topic that was a little less embarrassing.

Asri could barely hear Selice's last words as he ran away from them. He was happy that she liked him back, but still… he was immensely glad that she cared for him… especially since they had just flirted in prison. BY Luisine’s Light! How far could he go? Could his relationship with Selice really work?! Asri didn’t know what to think, but he knew that he would have to give it a try. Maybe this romance won’t fail like the last one…
And what’s more… she also had a dog? For this long surviving in her home... he hoped that she'd have servants to attend to it... Asri could barely restrain himself some grinning as he ran out of the prison at full speed, spread his beautiful (albeit fragile) wings, and flew off into the Heavenly skies. His destination? Selice's home, following her directions exactly as she gave them.
At least now I know what she meant by 'Requiem,' thought Asri, I just wonder what that dog has to do with the Reaper Archives. Is it literate? Oh dear... Selice is odder than I thought. ______________________________________________________________________________
Casey hissed at Selice like a trapped snake, her voice low and menacing, even if it was raspy and weak from malnutrition. Her hair was a dishevelled mess, tangled and greasy, having long lost his colour, becoming a dull grey, also due to malnutrition. Her twisted wings were a dark, grisly parody of what they once were – horned, boney and thin, with only a meagre amount of feathers left. It was a veritable testament to her fate – as a disgraced angel. Despite her weakness, the intensity of her gaze was terrifying to behold.
“Asri lied when he said that we are acquaintances,” hissed Casey, “I am one of his many ex-girlfriends. I once loved him… and he once treated me like gold. I know more about them than you do, and if you really care for him, then back off! It’s a wonder why you haven’t heard about him in this Sphere, if you live here… This is one of the Spheres where he’s well-known in… and even then… he never ceases to amaze me… that… he’s still alive… that bastard...” She weakly yanked at her chains, her hissing voice echoing throughout the nearby area. Casey estimated the radius to be a few cells. Certainly enough for this fool of a girl to hear her.
“… And look where I am now.”
