“Syl! Please go back!” Zachery shouted to it, dodging attacks. “It’s not safe to be with me right now, go find Asri and stick near him.” He said, trying to get Syl to go back and stay away from the fight and danger. He kept flying, trying to evade Grim reapers as they came from left and right, following behind. A bright light came from behind. Zachery looked over his shoulder to see a large mass of fiery light coming towards Syl and him. His heart skipped a beat, but didn’t waste any time to react. He pushed Syl out of the way with all his force, and in result, coming in full contact with the attack. A large explosion surfaced in the air, smoke filling the air.
Zachery flew out of the smoke, blood streaming down his arm and dripping from his fingers. White blood… He gritted his teeth and kept flying, “Go away Syl or I’ll kill you like the rest!!” He shouted at Syl. His heart ached as the words slipped from his mouth, He was only trying to protect Syl, and if that meant to hurt its feelings to keep it from getting hurt, then so be it. He closed his eyes and looked away from Syl, but was greeted by the face of the Grim Reaper that was supposed to be behind him. Her face lined with black curly hair as a serious expression was solid. She smirked as thrusted her sword into Zachery, white blood spilling into the blade from the chest wound. He gasped and took hold of the sword to keep it from going any further. “Damn…nit..” he breathed, grimacing as blood dripped from his lips.
The girl smirked and ripped her sword from him, slicing the palms of his hands that tried to grip onto it. His white fire wings dispersed and he fell. White droplets of blood coming from his body and becoming air born from the rate he was falling. Two Grim reapers swooped down and captured him before he could fall any further, grasping him by the arms and waist as he lost consciousness.
The woman who had injured Zachery looked over at Syl. “Stay out of this Reaper of Azrael.” She replied coldly, then flew off with the others and the unconscious Zachery to the medical office so he could be treated, then shipped off to Messiah’s place.

Syl stuck its tongue at them. Sure it was a Reaper of Azrael, and that it didn't give it the authority to boss around angels in Heaven, but Syl wasn't feeling particularly obediant right now. It wanted to find out where Heaven stockpiled its sweets and it believed that Zachary held the answer. What worse crime could there be than stealing sweets?
"I'm bored! And Asri's busy!" said Syl, putting up the bunny ears behind the head of the closest angel, "And Stripey hasn't even told me where's the Heavenly Ice Cream! I didn't know that stealing ice cream got elevated to being a capital punishment!"
Whether the angels liked it or not, it was tagging along, and it didn't care what they thought. Azrael's reapers had this policy of not interfering with Heaven or Hell unless on contract, but Syl always found ways around it. Asking angels for chocolate was so fun!
As the angels flew away, Syl followed them, skillfully dodging their attempts to shoo it away and questioning how such a 'child' could be a reaper of Azrael. Syl didn't bother answering, just giggling and laughing happily as it 'played' with the angels. If there was one reason why they didn't kill it right then and there, it was that Azrael was protective of its reapers, especially the effective ones. And as for Heaven... Syl didn't want to upset god too much itself.

The woman growled under her breath as Syl followed them. It was extremely annoying, and wouldn’t shut up about sweets. She kept quiet until they reached the medical clinic, then kept Syl from entering with everyone else. “You are not allowed to go any further with Zachery. He is a felon of heaven for murdering and assaulting angels. Go find your sweets somewhere else, you wont find any here.” She replied, crossing her arms and standing in front of the door so Syl couldn’t proceed.
Three of the Grim Reapers dragged Zachery inside to one of the doctors, but he refused to heal him. “I will not lay a hand on that killer so long as I am still an angel!” He shouted, fed up with being brought prisoners and felons to be healed. “Go dump him on Earth! He would fit in perfectly there!”
“Maybe we should clip your wings and then see if you heal him!” The Grim Reaper replied, his teeth clenched. “If he isn’t healed, then he won’t be able to go to Messiah’s. And he would be stuck with us! Now heal him!”
“I will not! He is a criminal and killer of Angels!! You yourself wouldn’t have kept him alive if you weren’t ordered too!” He yelled back.
“And what would you do if Messiah came down here the way he is! I’m sure he would kill you for not healing him, then you would no longer be an Angel of Heaven! Now heal him!” He yelled back with quite a bit of venom in his words. A threat.
The doctor clenched his fists and brung the nurses in. They took Zachery back through the hall and into one of the rooms. “You should be damned lucky that we are all afraid of that blood lusted Arc Angel. I’m not doing this for him or you.”
“Then do it for justice. He is going to pay for his crimes, and you will heal him to be able to do that.” The reaper replied as he watched the blond doctor go. He gave the reaper one last glare, then entered the room with Zachery and shut the door.

"Staying away from him isn't an option. He is my lawyer." selice said softly. She wasn't at all surprised she knew so little about Asri. She really didn't talk to many people in this sphere... well, she would, but they really never wanted to talk to her. Ah well, she had her own secrets. Her own darkness that she would rather stay hidden from Asri. Selice clenched her fist as Casey called Asri a bastard, but she did nothing. "As long as I am there to protect him, he shall remain alive, as is my contract" she said softly.

Syl stucks its tongue out at the reaper as she blocked its way, laughing and messing with her. It tugged at her, clung to her and dragged her around, poked her and put up the bunny ears behind her head, messing up her hair before it apparently flew away, laughing happily. Asri or Kiel would have recognized this type of behaviour in a heartbeat - when Syl was bored. Syl + Boredom was the basic equation for trouble to stir itself into action. What Syl was doing was not flying away... it was going to suprise Zach.... hopefully he would be conscious by the time it appeared.
Hence why it suddenly appeared behind the door when the doctor closed it after him, giggling and as it stepped towards Zach, pleased with its little disappearing trick. Getting into locked rooms and suprising people was one of Syl's favourite pastimes. Its face fell when it noticed that Zach was unconscious, still limp on that portable hospital bed...
"He's still unconscious, isn't he?" it asked the doctor. "Awww... and here I thought that I could keep him company."
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Casey glared at Selice. This fool of a girl... she mirrored herself so much oh so many years ago. Asri had always been popular with women in Heaven, due to his kind and sweet personality and very beautiful appearance, but... he had secrets of his own, secrets that Casey couldn't bear to tell in a prison such as this. Not with so many Fallen around them.
"You know," said Casey, "Asri has always been popular with women, but you should consider it a blessing that he doesn't often let them get too close."
Her voice shook as she spoke. There was a reason why Asri didn't trust outsiders as easily as he appeared... there was a reason for everything he did, even to her... even when he had let her suffer this fate. Casey didn't want Selice to be the next girlfriend to pay the price for her own ignorance.
"He has horrid luck with women," explained Casey, "you're fine with being his friend, but you have to realize that beyond that, this is a relationship that cannot be! Do some research on him, Selice, look up all the other women he's dated! Find out what happened to them! I guarantee you that it won't be pretty."
By now, Casey's voice had more desperation in it than venom. She didn't want yet another woman to fall for him, because she knew that Asri's girlfriends never fared well int he aftermath. They were often killed, severely twisted in body and/or mind, thrown aside like rags... It was horrible! Casey wasn't kidding at all when she too was thrown aside...
"Whatever you do, Selice," said Casey desperately, "don't fall for him! He may seem nice, and he actually is in a way, but... I don't want you to suffer the same fate as I! If you fall for him..."
Casey's voice took on an eery, raspy tone. It was exactly the sort of voice that could send a chill down any angel's spine.
"He'll break your heart."

Casey told selice not to fall for Asri. Laughable. Selice lowered her head a bit, making eye contact with the floor. "Too late" she said softly. She knew it could never be anything, hell she didn't even know if Asri felt the same way, but there were other factors keeping Selice from Asri. The whole inability to touch was up there on the list. At least her voice didn't harm him... that was a plus.
That, and really....would he want an Angel of death? Doubtful. And what if he found out about her own past? The terrible things she had done.... the things that had been done to her....

Casey hung her head, defeated. That's how she felt... defeated that she couldn't sway yet another girl from falling for Asri. Asri... he was nice, kind, willing to help anyone he could, even if he had ample reason to be a huge emotional mess, his mind forever damaged and beyond repair. That was the greatest mystery to Casey. Why was that man still alive? Why was he so willing to help others, even if he couldn't cure what they had...
"Looks like I'll have to draw upon the last remnants of my faith," said Casey, "perhaps you might be the first girl to get through to him... Asri's wanted a wife, but there's so many things that get in the way of that... If all of his suitors were to line up one behind the other, you'd ever see the end of the line! So I can't say that he hasn't tried... Fine, the truth is that he really does mean well, but he's rather unfortunate in the cicumstances surrounding him."
Casey lifted her head and stared at Selice, tears streaming down her eyes.
"I still pray for him every now and then, in hope that he's finally broken free of that Hell, but now that I've laid eyes on him again, I know that he has not," said Casey, "I think that you should've chosen to pay him in souls. That's what he encourages most of his clients to do, because after the payment is made, both client and lawyer go their seperate ways... but perhaps you may be the one to get throught to him... There's so much that you don't know about him, and that I can't utter to you in this cell..."

The doctor practically jumped when Syl suddenly spoke to him. He quickly turned around to see Syl, but didn’t say anything, just nodded. Then went back to work with Zachery. He had a hell of a lot of wounds. A broken rib or two, burns, cuts, a hole from the Grim reaper, and lots of scratches. His blood still white since it was still a bit frozen from his time in the cell.

Selice felt a pang of sorrow in her heart for the battered angel across from her. She wanted to reach out and hug Casey, but it was impossible for her to break free of the cell.
"I....I could never use innocent human souls to save my own life. I would simply never do it. Besides, whats the worst thing that could really happen to me if I do manage to get out of here and serve Asri? I mean yes, I'll be his body guard, and his family's protector and lord knows what else, but I will have a clean conscience that I didn't prevent those souls from their final resting place" she said with a very faint trace of a smile on her lips. Who knew how dangerous that agreement could turn out to be, and frankly Selice didn't like to think about it. All she knew was that she would protect Asri and his family if she did manage to get a lighter sentence.

Syl looked at Zachary, sadly. It knew that it couldn't do much to help. It could only keep him company... since as a grim reaper of Azrael, it couldn't interfere with the Heavenly proceedings without a contract. It was to keep itself from becoming a convict as well.
"I hope he gets better," said Syl, "I'm only here to keep him company."
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Casey chuckled.
"A Fallen with a conscience, eh?" she said, "human souls are human souls. They're bought and traded for in the black market, and have been thesource of many conflicts amoung demons. Besides, you don't even know what Asri does with them when he obtains them via contracts... and come to think of it, neither do I."
She feebly yanked at her chains, he chuckling becoming harsher and deeper as she began to shake with laughter.
"If you want to know what else that man will ask you to do," said Casey, "watch out for that little red freak that clings to him like an orphan to his long-lost brother. Tutoring it will be your biggest challenge yet."

"Believe me....I know all about the black market." Selice said softly, a look of shame in her eyes. She wasn't proud of some of her past, and her dealings with the black market was one of the things that haunted her.
She had been young.... so very, very young back then. Her lover, an angel by the name of Lysandyr, had been found guilty of conspiring to lead a revolt against the almighty. She had never knew Lysandyr had idolized Lucifer as he did, and by the time she did find out, Lysander had already been arrested for trying to turn angels against The father. Selice had taken the souls she had recently reaped and tried to use them to bribe one of the wardens. He took the souls, but did not release Lysandyr to her...in the end He was put to death, leaving Selice with a broken heart and 500 human souls lost, never to rest in peace.
She turned to face Casey once again. "Tutoring? Really? hmm, could be worse" she said softly. She didn't have much experience in teaching, except for training new reapers, but that was different.

Casey winced.
"Dear God," she whispered, "you're another one of them, aren't you? The black market has gotten so many angels in trouble that it makes me worry about any fool that dares to dabble in it. It's called the black market for a reason, you know."
She sighed and lifted her wings as she shifted uneasily in her sitting position.
"I don't know how you're familiar with it," said Casey, "but I do know that that place is nothing but trouble. Then again, so is Asri sometimes. He gets dragged on the wierdest of adventures sometimes."
__________________________________________________________________________________
After a while, Asri had finally reached the house that Selice had described to be hers. He had been flying around Heaven trying to find it, and almost broke his wings a couple of times. Those were precious to him... Luisine's Light was a resource that he could never afford to waste.
About half an hour of high speed flying later, Asri landed on the doorstep of Selice's home. It was exactly as she described it, witht he red and white roses in the garden.Indeed, they were very pretty, and Asri couldn't resist picking one of vibrant red roses as a present to Syl. Syl loved the colour red, and if any flower was red, in Syl's eyes it was usually automatically cute, never mind that it might be trying to eat it.
Asri chuckled as he stuck the rose in his bag, and proceeded to the doorstep, ringing the doorbell and waiting for an answer.

"Who could that be?" Jasper asked himself as he walked down the long marble hallway of Selice's home. He pale grey wings fluttered a bit as he stretched them out, the appendages feeling tired and cramped. A large German Shepard bounded up next to him, barking loudly. "Oh come on Requiem, take it easy" Jasper said softly, bending to scratch the eager animal behind it's perked ears. The angel straightened himself and continued making his was to the door.
Jasper opened the door slowly, brushing his long, dark brown bangs from his face. Just once he wished the stray hairs would stay up in the pony tail with his dreadlocks, but nooooo they did whatever the hell they wanted. "Hello, can I help you?" he asked, eying Asri as he stood there, trying to keep Requiem from leaping out of the home and tackling the angel on the front step.

Selice shook her head. "I'm not in here for dealings with the black market" she said softly. "That was.....well I don't want to talk about it" she added. "I really don't mind adventures really. It's better than sitting in my office waiting for reaping instructions" she said with a soft sigh. Selice stretched her arms a bit, trying to get of the tingling 'asleep' feeling in her hands most likely caused by the tight manacles.

Casey looked at the other angel, biting her dry, cracked lips, wincing as she accidently cut it, red blood trickling down her lips and chin.
"Be careful what you wish for," she said, "that's what Asri kept telling me. If you want adventure, it tends to follow Asri and his family like bees to honey. Are you sure that you want to be with him?! I don't want another angel dying because they can't control their own emotions!"
Casey watched as she watched Selice move, noticing the discomfort she felt with the manacles. Casey was te same when she first came here, but since then, months had passed...
"If you don't want to tell me of your past; that's fine," said Casey, "you never know when one of the Fallen listening to us will be freed back into Heaven. Some of them have lawyers, others do not. You should feel fortunate that Asri even offered a contract with you in the first place... I'm afraid that he doesn't quite fancy himself a workaholic."
___________________________________________________________________________________________
Asri smiled at the angel.
"My name is Asarek Sazsaroziel," he said calmly, "I'm lady Selice's defence lawyer.... Here's the contract as proof...."
Asri took out the paper that Selice had signed, unrolled it and shoulded to the man.
"I'm afraid she's been arrested on counts of overreaping and perhaps misjudging certain souls, and I have only the rest of today to gather evidence against it."
He looked at the overly eager dog, looking as if it could tackle him at any, moment. Asri wasn't allergic to dogs... it was just that he wasn't used to having pets that were actually harmless. IN the past, Syl had a habit of 'adopting' any creature, especially birds, that appeared to be abandoned. Unforunately, they didn't always grow up to be little angels... Asri eyed the dog carefully as he spoke, not wanting to get drool over the contract.
"Selice said that she has a ledger in her home that will prove her innocence," said Asri, "she told me that it's in her room, hidden behind several books, and I would like to use it to defend her in her trial."

Jasper looked at Asri with a look of sheer surprise on his face. "You're kidding right? That's impossible. Lady Selice would NEVER bring a soul to heaven or hell without the proper clearance from the Holy Spirit. I know that for a fact" The angel said, his eyes still wide with surprise. Jasper Reached out his free hand to look at the contract that Asri currently held, reading through every little bit of the fine print before handing it back to Asri. "Yeah, come on in. I know where it is" he said, taking hold of Requiems collar and stepping away from the door to let Asri into the large home.
The Main entry way of the home was the same marble of the exterior. A long black rug ran down the length of the hall, many thin pillars reaching to the very top of the huge vaulted ceilings. The space beyond each row of pillars on Asri's right and left was open. The room to the left was a large study, to the right was a large sitting area. The whole place smelled of roses and Lillis and the faint sound of wind chimes could be heard throughout the echoing halls.
_____________________________
"It's not like I have much of a choice. I've already signed the contract. I am at Asri's disposal till he deems that contract fulfilled" Selice said softly. "I would speak of my past, but as you said, I don't exactly know who I can trust here. Not that I don't trust you or anything, so please take no offense" she said with a soft, apologetic look on her face.
