Asri picked up what medical supplies he could from the bag, but didn't touch any of the weaponry.
"Thank you for the medical supplies," he said to Veronica, smiling. "But I'll pass on the guns. Ever since Syl saw you die, it has held a strong dislike for them. And I also happen to have horrible aim. I can provide medical services to the others if necessary, but I'd rather not fight if I can help it. For a damn good reason, of course."
He sighed. His sword wouldn't be sufficient to take down those insects. His demons would be more than effective against them, but they were not under his control, and had a tendency to propagate and get out of hand. And their endless chants often pushed the boundaries of Asri's sanity. He didn't want them here. He needed to avoid fighting as much as he could, for the sake of avoiding to summon them.

The sea of bugs never seemed to end. No matter how many carcasses lay on the ground below her, it didn't seem to put a dent in their numbers. Selice was a mess by now. Her hair had come out of it's pony tail, her arm and several other areas on her body had managed to be stabbed by the stingers, leaving her a bloody mess.
She couldn't hold them off for much longer, not with the increasing number that seemed to appear out of thin air. A sudden attack from several of the insects caught her off guard. The bugs slammed into her, causing her to loose the grip on her scythe. Selice watched in horror as it fell to the earth below her, ignoring the fact several of the bugs had managed to slice her open. Selice spun as quickly as she could, reaching out and placing her un-gloved hand on the nearest bug, just for a moment. The bug froze in mid air, hanging there for just a moment, it's wide sadistic grin fading as it's life drained from it's body. The angel quickly repeated the process on the nearest three bugs, hoping to distract them long enough to get to her scythe.
She spread her wings, then quickly tucked them in, diving head first at the ground. The wind whistled passed Selice's ears as she fell from the sky, weaving in and out of the bugs as she fell. She landed quickly, rolling on the pavement to get to her scythe just a bit more quickly. She grabbed the silver weapon, standing quickly and taking a defensive position.

Veronica motioned back as she watched the angel fall on the ground before her. Drawing her riffle down, Veronica walked over to Selice and said, "Get inside. There isn't anything we can do now to stop these things. The most we can do is make a run for in. Get inside the church, I have some supplies in there, feel free to take what you need, and from there, we make a run for it through the catacombs.".
Veronica motioned back inside the church and waited for Selice.
Looking at the group before her, Veronica took stock of what they could and could not do; Fluer was a solider, with a good weapon, she could handle herself, Viscum had the powers and it would totally come to good use, they had medical support with Asri, which was incredibly useful, and she had Selice, an angel but quite a fighter... Where was Eminor?
Veronica smiled and murmured, "Quite a motley crew we've got here.".

Viscum picked up two pistols from the bag, quickly loading them and placing them at his side in his belt. While he was much more skilled with his longsword the pistols would likely come in handy later on. Viscum stepped out of the church, or what it had become, just as Selice fell from the sky in front of them.
"Get inside. There isn't anything we can do now to stop these things. The most we can do is make a run for it."
Viscum stepped out in front of Veronica and in one swift motion pulled out his longsword and slice open one of the insects that had broken away from the rest of the pack.
"Lets make this quick people," Viscum shouted, slicing open another flying insect with vicious precision. "inside the church where Mazrin's shield will stop these damned creatures from following us!"

"I'm glad to see you can join me, but this is something I have to do alone. I can feel Psycho calling out to me... He's in everything I see, everything I do, and he's everywhere I turn... Taunting me, calling out to me... Holding up and exciting images of something I thought I left behind. I have to face it, man...".
Maz understood his words, knowing more than enough what it was like to face ones inner demons in corporal form, but he wasn't about to let Johnny walk straight to his death, whether he liked it or not.
"I will not interfere in your task of fighting Psycho, but without me you won't get close to him." Maz said persuasively, his tone still a deadly seriousness. "Allow me to help you get to Psycho, and then you can rescue your child and do what you wish with Psycho. If you don't allow me to assist then you will perish against such magical odds."

Rosa was initially caught off guard by the vortex that Guadi had created, but quickly adjusted. She had seen what magic could do and it would take a lot more than this to take her off guard.
"I'd appreciate you asking next time." Rosa scowled at Gaudi.

Selice nodded at Veronica and made her way into the church, using her scythe as a crutch. She entered the main room, looking around at all the faces, offering them all a faint smile. Selice ran her fingers over her lips, heavy black stitches forming over them as she did so. Just a precaution. last thing she needed was to forget herself and speak in the presence of none angels and kill them.
Selice stumbled a bit, her wounds causing her a fair amount of pain. She sat down on one of the pews, carefully examining the cuts and stab wounds the vile bugs had managed to inflict on her.

Suddenly an insect appeared completely out of nowhere, it landed on Johnny’s nose, its face transformed into a replica of Mr. Psycho’s, complete with sharp smile. It looked deep into Johnny’s eyes, a hysterical giggle escaping its lips. “John Of The Cross...” It rasped, then as strangely as it came; it exploded, covering Johnny in a purple mist that disappeared.
Shadow Z emerged from the shadows once again, the sadistic smile firmly planted across his face, he floated above the acidic waters. His hands burst into black flames, he started to giggle as he frantically shot balls of fire at the deadly river, and waves of the purple death began to splash on the boat and at Zachery. Shadow Z continued to do this; he then flew at Zachery with a right kick, aimed at his head. His haunting laughter trailed behind him as he tried to destroy Zachery.
Inside the church, the structures of Mr. Psycho, Tommy and Mr. Happy slowly started to twitch and wriggle. They’re mouths and eyes burst open, and a horrible screeching screams rips out of their throats. They slowly start moving towards the heroes; the screams continue to fill the air, their eyes show a dimension of fear and torture. The Mr. Happy lunges at Veronica’s feet.

Though she certainly had not enjoyed the trip through the slightly ominous, dark abyss, Chrystabelle couldn't find complaint with results. It was better than being attacked by bizarre insects, though as she gazed around her new surroundings, she wasn't quite sure. Most books she'd read all confirmed that walking through tunnels didn't always work out so well if you didn't know what was on the other side, and the strange noise she heard only seemed to strengthen that argument.
Regardless, it was a bit too late to be trying to go back, and she had no reason to distrust Gaudi. Plus, Rosa was there, and she was firm in the belief that nothing bad could happen if Rosa was around. She was simply too bright for negative things, in Chrystabelle's opinion. Smiling fearlessly, she followed Gaudi through the tunnel. "Where are we going, sir?"

Selice watched in horror as the statues began to come alive. She stood quickly when she saw the Mr. Happy lunge at Veronica. She ran forward and slashed her scythe down-wards, trying to slice off the statues hands and arms with the large blade. Get to the Catacombs, I shall hold them off she whispered to the group.

Kiel had managed to wiggle out of the clown’s grasp as Syn began relentlessly attacking him. It would be able to hold out for a long while against the clowns, as long as was necessary, so long as Kiel was there to remove the seals that it had placed upon its sibling, upon by one, which would grant it access to more of its power with no side effects, provided that it was done gradually.
Right now, though Syn had enough power to last for some time. Kiel had to focus on getting Kure to safety.
“KURE!” it yelled.
Kiel rushed towards Kure, water breaking break from the concession stand’s water bottles and condensing in the air around it. It was a fast flyer, so managed to reach him in seconds. The snot had made Kure slippery, icky and hard to hold, so Kiel quickly drenched him in the water, thoroughly washing off the snot, before. Just as Mr. Happy was about to step on them, it grabbed Kure’s arm and yanked him out of the day. They landed together on the ground, as they watched Mr. Happy getting ready to attack them.
Sighing, and looking at Kure in sympathy for his legs, it looked at him in the eyes, smiling.
“I hope you’re not afraid of heights Kure.”
Without another word, it lifted him up, held him close… As Mr. Happy’s foot was about to come down upon them again, Kiel simply zipped out of the way, before shooting itself high above the trees, smiling gently at Kure.
“Don’t be afraid, Kure. Syn may not be the most pleasant or emotional of Syl’s personalities, but it still cares for you. That’s why it’s fighting those clowns as we speak.”
Syn, meanwhile, was too busy fighting Tommy Tyrant to pay too much attention to Kiel and Kure. It would have to trust its sibling to save him, something that it was more than willing to do. These clowns were a threat. Thus, they were to be destroyed. Summoning more of its power, it summoned a shield that that protected it from the black goop, as it flew out of the clown’s reach, showering him with windblade, all of which exploded, when they hit the clown’s skin, spewing forth poisonous and corrosive gases. All at high concentrations.
Kiel kept Kure close, summoning a windshield to protect them both. It hoped that Syn wouldn’t use ozone; while it did protect the Earth from UV radiation, it was also one dangerous gas, capable of killing even at low concentrations. It might take care of the clowns, but that could pose a health threat to humans if they ventured into the area afterwards.
“Syn…”
Kiel knew how Syn fought. And it hoped that it wouldn’t resort to more destructive tactics… like blowing up the whole park… Not pretty. Syn would show the clowns no mercy, especially now that it had labelled them as clear enemies. Kure had better be glad that it was on their side…

Asri was about to greet Selice when he noticed the statues come alive. Well, damn it. Did they ever get a break here? He shrieked in response to the noise generated by the statues. He held his hands over his ears, his back still slung over his shoulders, as he ran towards Selice. These statues were slowly surrounding him, and as they were not living, the deadliest effect of Asri’s sword would not work on them. And he didn’t want to find out if he had enough strength to cleave them in half. They were made out of stone for Luisine’s sake!
“SELICE!” yelled Asri, almost panicking, “are you alright?”
His eyes were wide in horror, as he struggled to keep his mind under control. He didn’t want to summon to using his demons… That was only a last resort… a last resort that Asri found dangerous. Those demons weren’t under his control, and they were made so that their plagues could easily get out of control. He had to get out of here, fast! Before his demon could take control of him… Asri may be weak, but his demon was strong, and his demon was quite a nasty piece of work…
Damn it! now what am I supposed to do now?! thought Asri, as he lookedover his back, the statues slowly surrounding him, I’m helpless, a sitting duck! Why the hell am I so useless! Selice!

Selice quickly finished turning the statue to stone chunks, then turned her attention to Asri, who had managed to get himself surrounded. I'm fine! Hold on, I'm coming Selice whispered. She ran forward, slashing her silver weapon at the nearest statue, taking out the stone legs as she did so. Are you alright? she whispered, a concerned look on her face. She could bleed and get wounded, that was not an option for Asri. He needed protection, and she was going to protect him.

Asri sighed in relief and smiled at Selice gratefully. Thank goodness! Words failed to express Asri's gratefulness, but he struggled to fight the irony of his situation. He was a protector that needed to be protected, because without Syl's energy reserves, he couldn't do much, even stop his blood from summoning those blood demons if his it was spilt. If only...
Now wasn't the time to think about it. He had to avoid cutting himself. He had to avoid summoning those things! For Selice's sake, and for the sake of his newfound allies...
"Thank you so much, my lady," said Asri, as he narrowly dodged a strike from one of the statues, "but we'll have to flee to the catacombs as soon as possible. Once we have a minute to ourselves, I'll be able to treat your wounds, so please hold out against these things!"

Right. Just hang in there Selice said with a warn grin. She slashed at 2 of the nearest statues, trying to cut them in half. She watched as the stone crumbled and the statues were reduced to halves. Take my hand, Asri selice whispered, holding out her gloved hand to him. Selice spread her wings, ready to take off as soon as Asri grabbed her hand.

Veronica watched Asri motion down towards the catacombs as she equipped herself with the riffle and began shooting at the statues as they made their way towards them. Stepping backwards, Veronica fired whatever shots she could get in as she neared her duffel bag and slung it over her shoulder.
Tapping Selice on the shoulder, Veronica said, "What you're doing is suicide, get into the catacombs now. They can't get us there... They'll get stuck trying.".

Johnny coughed aloud as the purple mist dissipated before him.
"You see, man? He's after me..."., Johnny murmured as he turned towards Viscum. Lighting a cigarette, Johnny tried to distract himself from his delusions. If there was anything in all this, he was glad he wasn't gonna be facing Mr. Psycho alone. He was glad Viscum pushed himself towards his side... There was something ticking inside him, and it was worry, anxiety, and fear, all rolled into a twisted ball of distorted laughter and fake innocence.
Johnny continued to motion down the streets of the city; his pace close to Viscum's. All he could hear was the sound of Mr. Psycho's voice laughing and chanting the words, "John of The Cross".
Johnny closed his eyes and when he opened them again, his eyes popped up, his cigarette fell from his mouth... He couldn't believe what he was seeing: Mr. Psycho's face popping up like bubbles in every direction, laughing and chanting, "John of The Cross... John of The Cross... A murderous man.".
Johnny stopped where he was and continued with his sights dead straight; inside, man... Psycho was all he could see. Johnny lit another cigarette, but pulled it away... God damn it, even the fucking cigarette was taunting him.
<***>
Gaudi turned to Chrystabelle and Rosa and replied, "To the only place where the horror's above can not reach us. You see many years ago, this city was taken over by a dark and rouge entity known as the Black Goat. But you see, behind all his black magic and hookus-poockus, he really was not that powerful at all. He was just lucky. He knew a secret that even Animus' servants were not aware off... That he was trapped. Concealed beneath the Earth he created and locked away in a sphere of pure heavy metal. Those cries you hear belong to Animus.".

Asri smiled and took Selice's hand, holding it tightly, smiling warmly at her in return.
"Listen to Veronica," he said, "let's head into the catacombs. I'll tend to your wounds there, my lady. I don't want to see you die, especially not to these... things..."

She nodded at veronica, offering a warm encouraging smile, then turned to Asri. Selice grabbed onto Asri, slinging her scythe to her back at the same time, making sure he didn't touch any of her exposed skin, and carried him off towards the catacombs. Just hang on to me, but mind where you touch she said softly. She flew at break neck speed, weaving in and out of several pillars that lined the sanctuary. She made it to the entrance and flew down the narrow stairwell.
Once she and Asri where in the tunnels she landed, gently setting Asri down, her wings disappearing. Now that Asri was safe she could take a breather. Selice sighed and slid down the wall, leaving a faint trail of blood on the cold stone structure as she did.
