A carefree chuckle echoed through the hallways. Winds swirled around Selice, and when they subsided, Kiel was there, its back leaning against the door.
"Do you really want to go in, my dear?" it asked, grinning cheerfully, "if so, you might not like what you will see. Asri's ready to kill you even if you don't really deserve it. So, if you want to die, be my guest."
Kiel chuckled to itself, pleased. Everything had gone exactly according to plan! It even took the precaution of hiding its aura from Asri so it could let his anger and pain fester, to the point where he began spawning leeches in his room. Leeches that could seriously damage Selice if they latched onto her in great numbers. It could feel Asri's aura turning darker by the second, his pain and anger escalating.
Asri was always an strange, unpredictable fellow. He could snap at any sign of stress if his will wasn't strong enough, decimating entire cities in the process. Yet sometimes he could resist the temptation to give in. Stranger and stranger... Kiel was glad that he had bound himself to them, otherwise... he could become a real danger to all the wrong people.

Selice braced herself as Kiel appeared before her, his voice and the wind he caused sending shivers down her spine. She cast her gaze on Kiel, a slight frown over taking her features. "I...I don't care what could happen, I simply want to make sure he is alright" she said softly.
The angel placed her hand on the door knob and gently turned it, opening the door to Asri's room slightly.

Kiel grinned and patted her on the back as she opened the door.
"Break a leg, girl, break a leg!"
Asri stiffened as he felt Selice's aura come closer. He hissed at her, his eyes narrowing. On the outside, h e appeared angry, but it really didn't have much to do with her, just his past and his pain. Asri looked at the cut on his hand. The spilt blood was releasing leeches into the air, nether beings that fed on energy and transferred a portion of it to him. Sensing food, they immediately charged at Selice, intent on killing ger forb their master.
Master, master, master...
Their words echoed throughout the room, as Asri slowly crawled out of bed and rose to his feet. Pain shot up his arm, and more blood began to drip to the floor, crackling with energy. It was only when Selice was close when some of his anger subsided. It was strange and agonizing, being caught between her and his emotions. He didn't know what to do, all he thought was that he didn't want her to scorn him because of his condition.
"Leave now," whispered Asri, tears starting to roll down his cheeks, "or I won't be able to control it. I don't... want... you... to die..."

Selice took another step into the room. A perk to being freshly dropped out of heaven was her powers were fresh and fully charged. Only problem was, there was a lot of heavy demonic influence in the room at that moment, anything she would do wouldn't last very long, but perhaps....perhaps it would last just long enough. Selice extended her hand, a faint silver glow enveloping her body in a sort of force field. It certainly wasn't the strongest, but it might hold for a short amount of time. The leeches connected with Selice, but her force field protected her from their actual bite, and the field should hold for at least..... 2 minutes.
Selice winced as the leeches fed off of her force field, but she stepped a bit closer to asri. "I can't leave you Asri. Remember? I promised to protect you, and as far as I am concerned that includes trying to comfort you" she said softly, a faint smile forcing it's way onto her lips.

Asri began to sob as the pain became more intense. The curse was slipping out of control, and if something wasn't done, he might kill Selice.
"KIEL! WHEREVER YOU ARE, YOU BASTARD, A LITTLE HELP HERE PLEASE?!"
Kiel sighed. Asri knew when to cry out for help, and he knew when he was about to lose control. It stepped into the room and walked up to Asri, pushing him hard against a bookshelf. The angel's bones were hollow, and thus he was light enough for Kiel to lift him with ease.
Asri's eyes widened as Kiel's glare fell upon him.
"Stop it."
A shock from ran from Kiel's hand through his body, chasing the curse's influence away. Asri slipped from Kiel's grasp, landing on the floor in a sobbing heap. The leeches faded, returning to Asri by his wound. Kiel looked the puddle of blood that Asri had left behind, still crackling with energy. Sighing, it dipped its fingers in it, and the crackling stopped. There were perks to being a master programmer.
"I reinforced one of the seals, Asri," it said, "be sure to notify me if it is ever in danger of getting torn down. Because if it does, all hell will break loose."
Asri remained silent, weeping quietly as he laid there on the floor.

Her barrier had failed sooner than she thought it would, and soon the leeches had fed off of her, but she still continued forward.
Kiel finally stepped in and eased the demonic energy, the leeches disappearing before they caused Selice too much damage. She picked up the pace and slid to her knees next to Asri. She reached out her gloved hand and gently rested it on Asri's back, rubbing it gently in a soothing manner. "shhhhh. It's alright Asri" she said softly.

Asri reached out and hugegd Selice, sobbing into her shoulder. Without the influence of the curse, his emotions were not as strong, and his pain soon turned to sadness and self-pity. Asri was ashamed of himself that he could have killed her, and that he had to rely on Kiel to break him out. Kiel was capricious in its own way; it did as it saw fit and why it did what it did was anyone's guess. All he knew was that Kiel did not approve of their relationship, and he wonder why it had saved her.
"I'm so sorry Selice, I could have killed you!" he whispered, "I'm so sorry..."
Kiel leaned against the bookshelf, looking at Asri sympathetically, but remained silent. It had to find a way for Selice to reject him, 1) so she wouldn't have to die horribly like his last girlfriend and 2) so that it could have Asri to itself. He was a curious angel for sure, and Kiel preferred him dedication to their cause than against. He had talents that sometimes came in handy.

Selice held onto Asri tightly, returning his hug. She continued to rub his back gently. "it's alright Asri, It's alright. I'm fine" she said softly.
Several long moments passed and Asri remained in Selice'e tight, protective grip. "Are you alright?" she asked softly.

Asri hugged Selice tighter, still stobbing.
"I'm never alright," he whispered, "every day I live is in pain, every night is fraught with nightmares. I wonder if I... I'm so sorry. My curse is very stong... I don't want you to die... Luisine save me..."

Selice gripped Asri's shoulders tightly and pushed him back a little so she could look him in the eye. "asri, I am here to protect you. I am here to do what ever I have to to make sure you are safe. My life is not important, yours is. You are going to be alright, I promise" she said softly.
Selice pulled him back into the hug, rubbing his back softly. "I promise" she said quietly.

Kiel smiled. This was turning out better than it expected. Perhaps it might be beneficial to keep Selice alive. A new plan started to come together in its mind. If Selice was willing to give her life for Asri, then that could have some nice side effects. It might even help safeguard Syl's life.
Asri buried his face in Selice's shoulder, still crying, but not as hard as before.
"Thank you. I hope you're right."
Kiel crossed its arms as it watched them.
"Well, if you're done moping, I made pancakes with Canadian maple syrup for you. Better hurry before they get cold."
Asri smiled at Kiel.
"Thank you."
"No prob. It's a welcoming present on my part. Made with a souvenir I got from my business trip in Canada. Believe me, it's good, and if you don't eat it fast, Syl will find it and devour it in one gulp."

Selice smiled at Asri. "You're welcome" she said softly. "Do you need me any longer? If you think you'll be all right, I'd like to run back to my home and change" she said quietly. "Enjoy your breakfast" she added, wiping a tear from Asri's eye with her gloved hand.

Asri hugged her tightly.
"Don't go, please! I... I just want to be with you. Please stay with me, Selice. Please.."
Kiel chuckled. Aww, poor thing. As much as Kiel wanted to be alone with Asri, it wanted to watch in person how Selice and Asri developped in this sort of environment.
"Nah," said Kiel, "I can get some clothes for you. With the proper directions, I can find your house pretty fast and come back even faster. If there's anything you need, I'll got there and get it for you. 'Sides, I made enough pancakes for two people. It'd be a shame to waste it."

Selice smiled sweetly, and rubbed Asri's shoulder. "alright, I'll stay" she said softly. She turned and smiled weakly at Kiel. "thank you. My address is simple. 4242 off of Adams road and main" she said softly. "there is a bag under my bed that I keep in case of emergency. It should have everything I need" she added.

Kiel grinned and waved at them.
"See ya later, lovebirds!" it laughed, "I'll be back in a bit."
Winds then swirled around them, and after they subsided, Kiel was gone. Asri looked at Selice, running his fingers through his hair, wincing when he found out how tangled it was. He had spent the night tossing and turning. No surprise that it had ended up like... this.
"Kiel worries me," said Asri, "because I don't know what's going on in its head. Damn, my hair is a mess! After breakfast I'll have to comb it."
