A flash of crimson colored Selice's face as Kiel called the pair lovebirds. Lovebirds? hardly.... No not even close. Selice fought the color forming on her cheeks, quickly forcing it away.
Selice laughed softly at Asri as he mussed with his hair. "Want some help with that?" she asked softly, a silver comb forming in her right hand. She couldn't help but smile. Even her worst nightmares melted away from her thoughts as she sat there with Asri.

Asri smiled at Selice, blushing as well.
"Ah, I would appreciate it, after breakfast," he said, as he pulled on a bathrobe, letting his long hair loose. "Combing it can become a bit time consuming sometimes, especially since I've learned not to trust Kiel with a pair of scissors."
He stood and walked to the doorway, beckoning for her to follow.
"Come on, let's see what Kiel's prepared for us."

Selice allowed the comb to disappear in a small puff of silver glitter. She stood and began to fidget with her own appearance. She smoothed out her thin white robes and ran her fingers through her own tangled mass of bed hair.
The angel followed after Asri, still messing with a particularly nasty snarl that had formed in her long dark locks. She sighed and gave up after awhile.
A few moments of silence passed between the two beings before Selice coughed softly. "so..... thank you for helping me last night" she said softly.

"It's no problem," replied Asri, "I do my best to help friends in need."
He grinned as he opened the door to the kitchen, gesturing for Selice to enter. The kitchen was slightly unusual looking, having been renovated from a lab to look and fuction as one. Kiel did wonders, apparently. It was plain, unadorned and had none of the fancy luxuries that were in many of the ordinary houses of Animus. It was not painted, but it was neatly organized. Jars, boxes and wrapped up food lined the counters and the inside of shelves. Fruits were displayed in a basket on the counter. In the center of the kitchen there was a rectangular table, wooden, and bare except for the blue polka dot covering and a couple of plates. Each plate had pancakes on it, but one plate had three or four, and the other had over 10 pancakes stacked one over the other.
"Kiel knows my appetite," said Asri, "the plate with more panakes is mine. Come on, dig in."

Selice smiled softly and entered the kitchen. It was certainly homey, and certainly better stocked than either of her kitchens. Mental note, have jasper buy groceries.
She sat at the table in front of the plate with 3 pancakes on it and smiled. "Smells wonderful" she said softly. She waited for Asri to join her at the table before she even picked up her fork.

Asri sat down in front of the plate with over 10 pancakes on it and began scarfing them down quickly, savoring their taste with each bite. If only Syl was here... oh well... it would devour any sugar it came across anyways. He had a large appetite partly because his curses needed energy to replenish his blood, partly because he didn't go out into the sun often. Syl had once compared Asri to a plant - he could live on sunlight and water. However, with the sunlight as harsh as it was, Asri opted to devour human food instead.
"It's Kiel's cooking," said Asri. "You could say that it has learned a lot of different skills from its travels."

Selice picked at her pancakes, slowly eating them. They were delicious, better than any pancake she had ever had before. She smiled softly as she continued to pick at her meal.
She managed to eat half of her meal, her stomach happy to be given food after weeks living on water and brief glimmers of sun light. "That was wonderful. Remind me to thank Kiel when he gets back" she smiled softly.

Asri chuckled. He was already on h is fifth pancake and was only partly full. After what happened with his curse, he felt particularly hungry, and if there was food around to satisfy it, that would be exactly what he would do.
"Alright, I will," he said cheerfully, "now, if you have any leftovers, mind if I take them? I'm starved."

Selice laughed and handed Asri her plate. "Help yourself" she said with a smile. Selice silently watched as Asri ate, and became severely embarrassed with herself when she noticed she was staring at him. Her cheeks changed to a deep crimson color for a moment as she averted her eyes, switching her gaze to her hands. "so.... feeling better?" she asked softly, trying to divert attention from her red face.

Asri smiled gratefully as he took the plate and quickly devoured Selice’s share. The pancakes tasted so good; he couldn’t resist eating them so fast and pouring tons of maple syrup on them.
“Thank you Selice,” he said, his face also taking a reddish tint, “I’m feeling better now. Using my powers, even under the influence of the curse, can drain me considerably. Right now I’m glad that Kiel was there to save both of us. I know it may not be the most predictable person out there but… it really does mean well for me and Syl. We’re a family, and those ties forged by love are what keeps us together.”
He then paused in devouring the pancakes, looking at Selice in curiosity.
“Syl and Kiel are the only ones I can call my family now,” he said. “They’re my adopted siblings, and I’d give my life to protect them. What about you, Selice? Do you have any family of your own?”

"Think nothing of it" selice said with a soft smile, lifting her head just in time to catch the faint reddish tint on Asri's face. "I'm just glad to hear you are feeling better. I... I was really worried about you" she confessed quietly.
Selice's warm smile slowly faded as Asri brought up family. Her eyes seemed to grow dull, as if her mind had wandered thousands of miles away. "A brother..... but I haven't seen him in years" she said softly. "Not since the war" she added, biting her lower lips as her memory drifted to those dark times.

Asri sighed when Selice mentioned her brother.
"All of my biological family is dead," he said, "hopefully in Hell. As for your brother, I hope that he does return from war, and that he wasn't involved in the same battles I was.I have fought for Heaven a few times, but they never end well."
Asri leaned in closer to Selice, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"I was worried about you as well," he said, "I knew that Heaven wouldn't kill you, but that's not the same for me. My curse is very dangerous; it's killed too many people to count."

asri's first few sentences fell on deaf ears. Selice had spaced out entirely, only brought back into the moment when Asri placed his hand on her shoulder. She blinked a few times, then smiled softly. "There were times in rehab that I nearly prayed for death..." she whispered softly. "Believe me Asri, you'll find me hard to kill" she added quietly, trying to crack a smile and lighten the mood a bit.

Asri sighed.
"Sadly, it's the opposite with me," he said, "I'm easier to kill, but it's harder to get me to stay dead. Heaven is akin to Hell in that it has cruelty; the difference is that it hides it."

Selice chuckled at Asri's comment about staying dead. It was common knowledge that angels were granted certain extensions of their lives, the most useful being that they could come back from the dead after a certain amount of time had passes. Of course there were ways to keep an angel dead, but it was still a nifty perk to the whole angel thing.
"Don't worry Asri, I'm here for you" she said softly. "Oh, while on that topic, I must give you notice of this in advance. A few weeks from now I am required to return to heaven for a few days. Nothing serious I assure you.... just personal business" She said softly.
