Asri nodded. Business. One of the reasons why thankfully for Animus, Kiel was often too busy to plot some insane scheme to screw up everyone's lives and turn the world upside down.
"I understand," he said, "I'm planning a trip back to Heaven myself. There are some friends I've wanted to visit for a long time. It's been while because my curse has been getting worse... I can't fail my duty in my current contract."

Selice nodded gratefully. "Thank you. that sounds nice. I wish mine was a social call" she said glumly. Oh well, hopefully her meeting would go as planned. If it did there would be some big changes in her life.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" she asked softly, "With your curse I mean".

"Yes," said Asri. "If my aura and behaviour starts to change, you'd be well-advised to run. It enhances my emotions and blurs the line between friend and foe, all nasty when the person in question can wield dark power under its influence. The same kind of magic that demon-worshipping parents use to sacrifice their children to bring about the end of the world."
He paused to finsh up the pancakes and wipe his face with a tissue. he wasn't similing now, only having a solemn expression on his face, his skin slowly becoming paler.
"Other than that," he said, "absolutely nothing. When I was still a very young angel, I was captured by Nokolui's followers and turned into what you see now. An angel tainted to the core, one whose purpose is to plant the seeds of suffering wherever he goes, and destroy anything that gets in his way. I've had this curse for over two thousand years, and I've died enough that it's already partially fused with me."

Her own smile faded with Asri's. Run? Surely he couldn't expect her to run and leave him in a state of anguish and pain, it just wasn't in her nature. she gazed on him, her eyes glowing in a way that said 'fat chance, I will always protect you'.
He explained some of his curse to her and all Selice could do was nod her head. Honestly she felt rather useless as he told her there really wasn't anything she could do to break the curse, but who knew, miracles were happening everyday. Selice reached out and placed her hand on Asri's shoulder, gripping it in a supportive way.

"You are very sweet, Selice," said Asri softly, "one of the sweetest women I've ever met. If you want to die by the wrath of my curse, so be it. Under its influence, only Syl, Kiel and perhaps Kure are worth protecting."
Asri grimaced, as he looked at her face.
"You might not like me as much if Kiel has to break all of the seals holding the curse back. I've killed countless people, humans, angels, demons, because it went out of control."

The faint blush that had started to crawl over her cheeks was quickly crushed when a pang of hurt shot through her body as Asri said that his family was probably the only thing worth protecting. She cursed her stupid human emotions silently. Why should she even care that she wasn't worthy of protection? Selice understood the situation completely. They were family, she was simply someone under contract, her life was hardly as important as Syl's, Kiel's or Kure's. Even though she understood it, didn't mean it didn't still hurt slightly.
The angel forced a soft smile at Asri. "As I've said before, you'll find me rather difficult to kill. Sorry to disappoint you, but you're stuck with me" she said with a light laugh.

Asri stood and sighed.
"Please don't force youself too smile like that," he said, "I truly enjoy your company, and I promise that I will look after you as best I can, but the curse is another matter entirely. I don't know how much Kiel has tampered with it to serve its purposes, but suffice to say, it serves both at the same time. Kiel... is rather strange in that it has a rather fanatical devotion to family. Still, I don't really mind being stuck with you... just try to stay on Kiel's good side."
He took the plates and took them to the counter, setting them beside the sink, where he switched his usual gloves for some plastic, yellow ones. He began to wash the dishes, looking out of the window.

Selice nodded her head softly. "alright, I'll try" she said quietly. "need help with anything?" she asked, trying to make herself useful.

Asri smiled.
"I suppose. You could help me tidy up my hair when I'm done washing these. I know it's long but... well... I'm just used to it."
He chuckled cheerfully as he scrubbed the dishes clean, setting them in their proper place, all neat and tidy. He then pulled off those yellow gloves and pulled on his usual ones, walking back to Selice.
"I could do yours too if you want," he said, "I picked up a bit of knowledge of women's hairstyles in messing with Syl's hair. Just... just don't ask why."
A that last sentence, he went beet red as he looked away. He chuckled and fidgeted nervously. He did not want her to discover Syl and Kiel's habit of playing dress-up with him.

Selice smiled. "Alright, that sounds lovely" she said softly. Asri's hair was really long, and honestly Selice wasn't quite sure how he put up with it on a day to day basis, surely it would have driven her mad.
She noticed the deep red hue that had appeared on Asri's face and arched her eyebrow inquisitively. "Asri? are you ok?" she asked, slightly concerned.

Asri gave her a lopsided grin, twitching slightly.
"Um... it's nothing, nothing!"
Facing her only made him blush even more uncontrollably. He walked past her, heading to his room.
"Er... I'll just get my stuff from my room and lock it, alright? Ah... um..."

He eyebrow simply arched even higher. "You are a terrible liar, you realize that, right?" she asked with the slight hint of a grin playing at the corner of her lips. She sighed a bit, and giggled to herself. "Alright, I'll wait here" she said.

Asri hastily entered his room, pulled open the drawer beside his bed and took out a silver-coloured comb. He exited swiftly and locked the door behind him. The last thing he needed as for Selice to discover that the closet was full of women's clothing.
"I'm back!" he said, smiling. "I just hope Kiel doesn't get back too soon... I don't want it to get me to play dress up..."
He held up the comb so Selice could see, before beginning to use it to straighen out his hair.
"I just use this to comb my hair each morning. Takes time, but I don't mind. I got used to looking like this."

Selice smiled at Asri and pointed to one of the kitchen chairs. "Sit, let me take care of that" she said softly, taking the comb from his hand and waiting for him to sit down before attempting to tame the his wild hair.

Asri did as she asked and sat on a chair facing Selice, handing her the comb and letting his hair loose. It was long enough that it almost reached his waist.
"As you wish, my lady."
