Chrystabelle glanced at Rosa in concern. "Is something wrong, Rosa?" She asked, noticing the slight change in her demeanor. Asri had just been mentioning the possible danger lurking around, and she wondered if Rosa knew some new updates on the events of the day. She noticed that someone was missing. "Where's Maz?"

As Lain finished dispatching another robot, she felt icy pain sting her left shoulder. Before she could react to being shot a metalic fist smashed into her stomach sending her flying backward.
As her back hit more metal, she crumpled to the floor dizzy from having the wind knocked out of her. Doing her best to get back into standing position, she was met with another metalic fist, this time to her face. Stumbling backward she snatched her dagger out of her thigh sheath and thrusted it into one of the robots heads.

Soloman, through this entire engagement, was a rat. He easily skulked through the fight, the robots ignoring him and the Residents failing to notice him.
The truth was, the robots were not programmed to kill the Residents. In fact, if a shot would kill one, they would not take the shot. Instead, they were to make them bleed, shed some skin, lose some hair, make a scare.
However, this was not their only purpose. He continued his skulking until he exited the building. He brought up his watch, turned back to the hotel, and waited. When a flurry of small beeps eminated from the watch, he smiled deviously and began walking casually away, detonator for the charges he had programmed some of the robots to set in hand. As he pressed the button, a wailing siren ran through the building.
It was obvious to anyone with a brain the area was no longer safe.

Viscum had been smart about his tactics. He knew that Soloman wasn't going to stick around thanks to his ability to track aura's with precision. He hadn't entered the building, but rather kept to the shadows outside of it, waiting for one particular moment to make his move. When he saw Soloman's aura leave the building he knew that it was time. Viscum moved swiftly, as to ensure there was no chance for error, and dived at Soloman before he could be aware of his prescence. There was a longsword in Viscum's hands, magically enhanced to injure even the most powerful of magical creatures, and he swung it forcefully, aiming for Soloman's skull.

Maz swung the magically created blade again, ripping through yet another robot. Suddenly a loud siren rang throughout the building, immediately grabbing Maz's attention as he placed a bullet through another robot. This wasn't good, the others were injured, hurt from the fight. He wasn't sure they'd be able to make it out on time but Maz wasn't going to lose his own life for them, he had to place his siblings before these residents. If he could help them, then he would. Otherwise... well, it didn't need thinking about.
"We need to move, now!" Maz screamed, loud enough for everyone to hear.

"Where's Maz?"
Rosa looked at Chrystabelle, her face still serious and determined. She wasn't going to take the risk of leading people into danger unknowingly so she had opened the link with Maz, albeit briefly as not to distract him, and seen the situation that the others were in.
"He's with the others, they're in trouble. There's this man, he's planning something, something big. I think they might need our help to stop him."

Veronica stopped firing the moment she heard the alarm. She turned over to Johnny to find him firing away. "Stop!", Veronica shouted as she stumbled towards him.
Johnny drew down his weapon as he tried to mentally step away from the chaos that surrounded him. The bastard that flew in was gone, and with was going on, it was pointless to fight the robots. Johnny turned to Veronica and grabbed her by the hand and motioned out.
Charging down the hallway, they found Lain struggling to gain ground. Johnny charged forward and scooped Lain into his arms. Veronica kept her eyes open for Pyscho and Bruce, shouting out, "Psycho, Bruce, we have to go!".

Up in the air, Arqus hovered, his diamond wings spread majestically, observing what's happening down in Animus. The strong wind blew his long blond hair wildly, exposing his beautiful pale face. Then a mischievous smile played at the corner of his lips. It was no longer Arqus who had control over the body, but Bremmen.
He found a way to will himself out and take over, against his host's decision.
"You can't do this!" Arqus' voiced echoed inside Bremmen's head.
"I just did." The demon answered, keeping his eyes on Animus below.
"How??"
"Since Myzrael's death your spirit weakened. I am stronger. I can will myself out if I wish." He advised, plainly.
They saw Johnny, Veronica and some new residents running out of a building. They seemed to be in trouble. Arqus ordered Bremmen to help.
"Have a little faith in your friends. I'll come to their aid when they need me."

Zachery had not been startled as the man had flew by and ran upstairs. He was either a comrade or an enemy, and by the reactions of Johnny and Veronica, enemy it was. He casually followed, not in much of a rush as he saw the robots. Weaklings… He easily took a few out that approached him near the door, but he didn’t much care. They weren’t going to hurt him. He heard the blaring sirens in the building as everyone seemed to scramble. He did not want to show his powers, but they would come in handy for them not to blow into smithereens. And the fastest way out was the window. He kicked open a door with brute strength, even though his figure seemed so fragile and lean. “Follow me!” Zachery called out with authority. Knowing what he was doing. Without waiting for a response, he swiftly ran through the empty room and slammed open the door to the balcony, ripping off the curtains.
“Spell binding, Glass infringement!” His voice echoed. He held his hand out and all the glass in the room shattered and spilled out the doorway and out to the balcony. Its shards glowing a pale yellow as they rearranged themselves into a strange staircase leading off to the roof of another building. Currently they were on the seventh floor, and it would take forever to run down the stairs and hallways to get to the first floor before impending doom hit the entire building. The sound of the shards echoed out the room as they fitted together tightly and mending into a solid glass stair case with the yellow glow emitting Zachery’s powers was holding it pact together like cement. “Quickly! This is the quickest route out!” he yelled out at them. Usually, this spell was meant for trapping an opponent, but he quickly improvised it into something else.
Even if it was only a part of his spells, he hated to show others his powers. He didn't like to be pampered, recognized, appreciated, any of that crap. He was one to be a loner with no friends other than his race. Humans, demons, winged hybrid. They were all the same to him. He didn't want their attention, he only needed that of his race. But even so he felt compelled to save these people.

It was only when Rosa pointed it out that it suddenly let go of Asri, causing him to instantly fall to his needs, panting heavily, lungs desperate for air. Suddenly apologetic, it knelt beside him and put a hand on his shoulder.
"Ah, I'm sorry Asri!" it said, as it hugged him lightly, "I didn't mean too! I... I was just... so happy to see you!"
Asri hugged it back, instantly forgiving it. For some reason, Syl's cuteness made it very easy for it to be forgiven, especially when it involved Kiel and Asri. If there was one thing that the two had in common, it was that they loved Syl and were hell-bent on protecting it. That was something that Asri had sworn ot do for Kiel, using his own blood and feathers to seal the deal. It was a step he had taken willfully, by choice, and one that he didn't regret. While the adventures that Kiel and Syl put him through were not a trip in Wonderland, at least... it gave his life... more meaning... than simply being an angel of Luisine, the Light of Salsaria.
With that in mind, Asri broke away from Syl's embrace, and slowly got to his feet, still coughing and panting. Syl clung to him, still with apologetic look on its face. It eyes seemed to be watering, and if they could speak, they would be saying 'Forgive me?'
Asri chuckled and ruffled Syl's hair affectionately.
"I forgive you, Syl," he said, "there's no need to get all worked up about this. I've survived worse than this, and if it's for you, I have no regrets."
Syl hugged him, and clung onto him, burying its head into his chest. It felt grateful for his forgiveness, especially as it had pretty much embarassed him in front of two of his friends, both people that he had just met. Nonetheless, it felt a sense of peace with him, a sense of peace that it could only feel when with those it truly considered family. It sensed that this wasn't the first time, that it had felt this way around ASri... which made it think... Was Asri more than just a guardian?
Yes.
To Syl, he was more than that - he was its brother, and nothing would change that. It snuggled into him, and closed its eyes, trying to relax.
Asri was blissfully unaware of what Syl was thinking, instead listening to the little conversation Chrystabelle had with Rosa. He hugged Syl gently, as he nodded at Rosa. He was fully aware of what was going there, as Kiel had given him some access to the information it had collected from the spies. Quite frankly, he didn't want to get involved, but he didn't like to think about what that uranium could be used for. If he was clever, he might be able to make a bomb with the little uranium that he had gained from the hospital and perhaps from other sources. Not good.
"Rosa, while I am concerned about what this man could do, unless you can come up with some clever plan, I don't think that it would be a good idea to take us along. Syl's a pacifist and I have no fighting ability on my own. We would just be spectators, and Syl doesn't take well to scenes of violence and death. It... never quite got used to it..."

Johnny, cradling Lain in his arms, and Veronica followed Zachary to the balcony and slowly made their way over the makeshift bridge. Johnny reached the building and shouted back, "Thank you!". Veronica made her way shortly there after, and murmured another spell. Fixing her attention towards the makeshift bridge, Veronica used her powers to hold the bridge together, trying to take some of the weight off Zachary.

Soloman, with an amazing, graceful movement, ducked under the blow, transforming his right arm into a blade as he rolled back. He let a smile curl across his lips as he became engulfed in bone. As the last of the Residents left the hotel, the explosives detonated. Tendrils of flame shot through the windows, engulfing Soloman.
The shockwave shattered every window on the street, and it wasn't long until snapping supports rang. The hotel collapsed then and there. When the fire and dust cleared, Soloman was no where to be seen.

After all the people had gone before him, Zachery quickly made his way across, letting the glass fall behind him. He was close to the roof of the other building when the hotel exploded behind him, fire and glass flying out of the windows as smoke started to drift into the sky. Zachery tripped forward from the sudden sound, falling face first onto the gravel of the roof, the spell had been obliterated behind him, the shards falling to the ground a few stories bellow. He stood up and examined the minor scrapes on his hands and the tear across the side of his shirt. One of the pieces of glass has torn through his shirt and nicked his side, cutting the flesh just barely. Usually now would be the time for him to crack some sort of side joke to lighten the mood, but he was a bit pissed about his shirt being cut. And it was his favorite one too.
“Just great. It took forever to make this.” Zachery said and he pulled it over his head and examined it. Not caring that he was showing his bare chest. “Perhaps Jessan could help me make another one…” he mumbled. He ignored the fact and gently tore a few strips from it, wrapping the black fabric around his hands to cover the minor wounds. Even though it burnt fairly bad, he easily shrugged it off and continued. “Anyone need a make-shift bandage?” He offered nonchalantly, honestly not thinking much of the hotel being destroyed since no one was severely injured. He looked down at the mess that was once the hotel, dust was clouded thinly across the streets as rubble was scattered everywhere along with burnt furniture and items.

Maz jumped from the edge of the building, chanting the spell in his head quickly as he fell. Wings of solid white light erupted from his back, allowing him to glide safely in the air. Realizing the building was moments away from exploding Maz scanned the ground, quickly spotting Viscum, who had just missed Soloman with his blade by inches. Swooping down Maz grabbed Viscum by the shoulders and pulled him up with him into the air, just moments before the building exploded and glass flew past them.
"Just on time like always." Viscum said, a serious look in his eyes as he glanced back at where Soloman had been moments ago.
"Just like old times brother." Maz said, now firmly focused on the death of Soloman.

"Syl's a pacifist and I have no fighting ability on my own. We would just be spectators, and Syl doesn't take well to scenes of violence and death. It... never quite got used to it..."
Rosa nodded slightly to show that she understood. While she was disappointed that her plan to help was being hampered she wasn't going to abandon anyone, especially not in a time of conflict. After several seconds Rosa decided that there was no point dwelling on the problem, but rather the only way forward was to come up with a solution.
"Well then, we need a plan." Rosa said, taking lead of the situation. "If we're going to stop this guy without directly taking him on then we need to find some way to stop the bomb he's planning on detonating. Anyone know how to disable a bomb?" She said, half chuckling.

Asri played with his hair nervously as Rosa spoke. He shifted nervously as he held Syl close to him, as it buried its head in his chest. It hugged him, trembling. Asri noticed that it was unusually quiet... what was it thinking?
"Syl used to know, before its memory was blocked," said Asri, "and unfortunatley, dealing with vbombs was never my speciality."
He looking down at it, notincing that it was sobbing.
"There, there Syl, this isn't your fault," said Asri, "don't put all the blame on yourself, if you've done nothing to provoke this..."
"But... miss Klaire..." it sobbed, "I want to know if she's alright..."
"Miss Klaire?" asked Asri, "a friend of yours?"
"Yeah... I last saw her at the mall, but... I just wonder where she is now?"
Asri embraced Syl, as he gently and affectionately ran his fingers through its hair. This was totally like Syl... always keeping the welfare of its friends in mind.
"You're not alone, Syl."
"What about miss Veronica?" asked Syl, "what about her?"
"Don't worry, Syl," he said, "we're here for you; we'll figure this out."
Syl continued to sob for a moment, the fell silent, its head still buried into Asri's chest. Its thoughts were suddenly brought back to Klaire and Veronica... two of its friends... worrying about their welfare... Syl wasn't going to abandon them, but how could it help without killing anything? Without causing someone else the grief that almost sent it spiralling into insanity? What could it do? Don't worry were Asri's words... Syl wanted badly to trust him, but its mind was still working on a plan of its own to help... not that it would be very useful. Syl believed in the power of friendship, however cliché it was... but had this nagging feeling that maybe now wasn't a good time for it...
Asri sighed and turned to Rosa. He had debated endlessly on whether to tell her... but if necessary, he would have to. He didn't want to keep any important information from Rosa, and he wanted to lend his assistance to the matter in any way he could.
"The good news that while I don't know how to disable bombs, I do know someone that can," said Asri softly, "the bad news is that person... needs some convincing, and even then, it might not help us as much as we'd like... how threatening is this bomb exactly?"

Johnny held Veronica in his arms as he watched the hotel across go down. Like every little thing that came their way in Animus, Johnny wanted answers... He saw that guy, and like hell there was any way he could catch up with him. Sooner or later, something else was gonna happen. And regardless of who it was: the Black Goat, the blond bastard that blew up the hotel... It didn't matter, it was going to be the same thing over and over.
Something had to give, Johnny knew. And to his unborn child, he'd be damned if it was gonna be them.
