"hmm, the jeans fit nicely, and so do the shirts, I'll probably just toss them into the pile for when I need something casual" Selice said with a thoughtful look, examining herself in the mirror. She walked back in to the small room. Minutes passed, then she reemerged. "Here we go. What do you think?" she asked softly. Selice stood before Asri in a floor length black skirt with a sheer top and black corset over top, elbow length black gloves and a pair of high heeled black boots of her feet.
it felt nice to get to be girly for awhile. While in heaven it was praise and worship all day, when on earth she collected souls, but here in Animus, she wasn't really required to do anything, at least not yet.

Asri stood back, looking at her from top to bottom. In truth, he liked looking good, which explained his fondess for formal outfits. Asri always dressed formally unless he had to dress otherwise for very good reasons, like infiltration or simply trying to blend in with the masses.
"Excellent outfit; it looks splendid on you!" he said, smiling, clapping his hands, "my only concern is whether you can walk in those shoes. They're... a bit high..."
Well, you're one to talk. You've worn high heels before.
Shut up, stupid voice! It's Kiel's fault that I'm like this! Don't embarass me in front her; I don't want her to find out my secret... it's humiliating, but I can't help it...
You know you love shopping!
Only with Syl! I... I'm not a hypocrite! I swear!
Asri struggled to maintain his smile as he argued back with that voice in his head... however annoying it was... While he appeared to be having fun, he wasn't particularly enjoying this, as he didn't want to embarass himself in front of her... His reputation in Heaven was bad enough... except in the legal department... but still...

"they are a bit high, but I can still walk, so thats a good thing. I'm just worried if I have to run I might fall on my face" selice laughed. "But I think I might take it anyway" she added. Selice walked back into the dressing room, a crimson blush on her cheeks from Asri's compliment. She slowly slid the outfit off her body and began to slip into another one.
She reemerged in a black dress suit, a black dress shirt, and a blood red tie, a pair of black converse shoes on her feet and a pair of sunglasses sitting on her nose. "I have to say, I look awesome!" she laughed, looking at herself in the mirror. "I could see myself reaping in this honestly. I look like a hitman" she said with a giggle.

Asri clapped his hands, laughing happily. Now this was the outfit that he liked. He wasn't overly fond of the shoes, but they were fairly practical, and he was happy to leave it at that. He would rather have her wear ugly practical shoes than beautiful ones that may lead to her death.
"Excellent!" he said, grinning at her, "I must say that that's my favourite outfit so far. Suits you perfectly! I'm glad that the shoes are more practical, as my ward told me that fights are known to occur every now and then here. Hence why I don't recommend high heels in this place."
What pleased Asri was that she had directly appealed to his taste in clothing - suits and other formal outfits. Indeed, this was one outfit that he hoped that she would take. Angels in suits... hah... they'd truly make a good couple, lack of physical contact aside. Not that Asri minded.
He wasn't a fan of physical contact himself, unless it was between Syl and Kiel. They were immune to his illnesses, to the point where if such a thing were possible, they could bathe in his blood and come out fine. Hence was why he had no reservations around them. Selice... he wasn't willing to tak risks with touching her. She could kill him on physical contact, and he could give her an illness fatal to even angels.

"well I think I have done enough shopping for one evening. I think I'll just stuff the rest into a bag. If it fits, yay, if not, oh well" she said softly. "But I am defiantly wearing this one out" she said with a wink. Selice grabbed a few bags from behind the check out counter, stuffing all of the outfits she had tried on, and several she hadn't into the bags and walked toward the exit. "Shall we be off?" she asked turning back to look at Asri. Selice freed her wings and flapped them for a moment, stretching.

Asri smiled at her.
"I'm happy for you," he said, winking at her back, "that was a very nice choice of outfit."
He let his wings materialize behind him as he rejoined her at the entrance. They unfurled themselves gracefully, glowing light blue, like the last time she had seen them. Their beauty was fairly undimishied throughtout the years, and Asri valued his wings more than most believed, and not just for their appearance. Still, thank goodness! Looks like his fear wouldn't come to pass... at least, not now. Asri was relieved, and now felt more comfortable around her once again.
"Of course, Selice," said Asri, "what do you wish to do now? I'm willing to go to any place but the sewers... My ward once decided to drag me there because it was bored one day... and... Let's just that it's... not a very pleasant place... Stinks to the point where I threw up my lunch, and the waters are disgusting..."

A very light crimson color crawled over Selice's face as Asri complimented her yet again. She had to say, it was nice to be noticed in such a way. "well, I still have to find a place to stay, and I still have no idea what is where in this city. Perhaps we could just see the sights? Except the sewers of course" she said with a light laugh. Selice checked her back to make sure she had remembered to strap her cricket bat back to her suit after trying on all those clothes. Her fingers touched the cool wood and she smiled. "Alright then, let's go". With that Selice took off, racing straight up and doing a little loop.

Asri quickly followed her, spiraling up so that his wings wouldn't hit anything. It took a good jump for him to get the lift he needed, but it was well worth being able to quickly rejoin her in the skies.
"Sounds like a good idea, my lady," said Asri, still smiling, "I'll lead you down to the housing district, where there are the better maintained suburban homes, most of which are vacant due to a lot of mindless dying, due the amount of violence in this city. I'm sure that you'll find one that you'll like. They're much more varied than you'd think they are."
And with that, he chuckled happily at her, beckoning her to follow him. Then, he turned around and began flying towards the housing district, fast enough so that Selice would have to put in a bit of effort to catch up, but slow enough that he wouldn't fade out of sight too quickly.

A wide grin over took Selice's face. She took off like a rocket after asri, keeping neck and neck with him as they flew. As she floated through the air she would occasionally look down, checking out the sights and asking questions about various sights.

Asri grinned as he raced along with her, answering her questions to the best of his ability... well... tried. For once he actually felt grateful for Syl dragging him all around Animus and lecturing him endlessly about its discoveries. Syl loved attention, but nowadays was more wary of it as well, due to past experiences...
Asri forced his thoughts away from his ward and focused instead on Selice.
"Don't worry, Selice," said Asri smiling, "Once you've picked out a house, I'll show you all of the sights around here. Now look! The housing district is not far off."
With those words, Asri slowed down, eventually landing gently on the ground, waving at her to join him.
Thankfully for Selice, Asri had chosen a relatively well-kept neighborhood as opposed to one of the others that were still in disrepair. The houses looked well-enough, in so many styles that he quickly lost count, although their lawns were by now nothing more than weeds. Gardens were mostly dominated by weeds as well, although some perennial plant had managed to hold onto life. They were worn but triumphant, surviving neglect against the odds. They were like him in a way, as many of his other friends in Heaven still wondered how he was still alive.
Nonetheless, Asri was happy that he was here... still though... he was glad that he saw no one in sight... He sensed that there were a few soldiers living in one of the nearby houses, at the edge of his range, but they inside and safe from Selice's voice.
"Come on, Selice!" he called out. "There's no one on the streets, so don't have any fear!"

Selice landed softly next to asri, looking about the street. There were so many houses, picking one would take forev- "There" she said softly, looking down the street. It was a three story mock Victorian. Selice flew off towards the house, inspecting it. Even though the other houses where vacant for the most part, this one looked like it had been left in disarray for years before Animus separated from earth. "It's perfect" she said softly, inspecting every angle of the home. Selice landed on the porch and opened the door, walking into the large entryway. She turned back and looked at Asri. "Hey, are you coming or what?" she asked.
Selice flew into the living room. The furniture was covered in white sheets, protecting it from dust and decay. She smiled as she ran her fingers over the bookshelves, reading the titles of the books as she went. She made her way to the kitchen. Now it would need some work, but she could work with it.

Asri smiled approvingly at the house, retracting his wings as he entered. While it wasn't perfect, no one lived there. Its need of renovation would, however, allow Selice to customize it to her wishes. Of course, he would be ready and willing to help her as he could.
"It's not in the best condition," said Asri, as he followed her around, "but it will allow you to redecorate it to the style you please. I will do my best to assist you if you so wish. My own home is not close to this place, but I can fly here easily."
He followed her to the kitchen, were he began inspecting it up close, trying not to mind the strange smell that pervaded the house. It was a strange smell, that of its old age and of neglect, one that Asri found uncomfortable. Nonetheless, he did his best to ignore it and stay by Selice's side.
"We'll need to check if there are pests in here before you move in," said Asri, "it's old, so we have to make sure to restore it so you can live here comfortably."

"true, it is quite a fixer upper, but I think I might have enough residual power to do it with little or no man power" she said softly, looking around. "But your help is quite welcome" she said with a smile. "In fact it's more than welcome. Over the last few years I really haven't had anyone to talk to..." she said softly, a depressed look taking over her face as she thought back to her captivity. A shiver ran down her spine as she thought about the tortures she had undergone at the hands of that man....

Asri felt a pang of sympathy for Selice when she looked at him with that depressed look on her face. Wherever she lived in the past, it was a far from perfect place, probably one where she was isolated from all of her friends from Heaven. Asri didn't really care about Heaven that much, nor was his loyalty to it complete, but he hated seeing her suffer. He wanted to touch her and embrace her, to comfort her in a similar manner as he often did to Syl. Alas, it was impossible. Selice's touch would kill him upon contact, and besides, he had his curse and she had her personal space.
Asri nodded to her solemnly.
"Don't worry, Selice," he said, giving her a warm, sympathetic smile, "I'm here for you. I know that your past is likely not pleasant, but I'm afraid that I don't have the power to turn back time. It's the past, and we'll just have to deal with it as is. If there's anything that you need help with, my lady, I'll do my best to support you."
He approached her, and stood so they had eye contact.
"I live on the fourth floor of the city's hospital," said Asri, "if there's anything you need, you're free to visit me whenever you wish."

Selice looked back at Asri and smiled, then flung her arms around his neck in a bear hug. Thankfully she was still wearing her gloves and her suit jacket. If her bare skin had touched Asri, he would have been a goner, but as long as the fabric was there he'd be alright. She withdrew her arms after a few moments and offered Asri a faint smile. "Forgive me if I over stepped my boundaries, but....... it has been years since I've hugged anyone. Again I apologize" she said softly, her smile fading slightly and an apologetic look taking it's place. "but thank you for your invitation. I would be honored to visit you" she added.
