Selice closed her eyes, knowing what Lucifer was about to do. She reached out with her mind, trying to find Asri in all of the chaos that surrounded her.
Asri, I'm so sorr-
A silent scream.
then all went quiet.
Selice fell to the ground, her throat slit open and blood pouring from the wound. The angel was dead.

"That's fine. I just need to see her.", Johnny replied as the portal appeared before him.
<***>
Sara didn't have time to thank Viscum for the distraction, as she raced towards the church. Opening the door, she helped her mother inside as she waited for Fleur and replied, "He's The Archbishop and he controls Animus, for the most part, I can't tell you more. There's something more urgent you have to know."
"What is it?", Johnny asked as he crawled out of the catacombs.
Sara froze. Her jaw dropped open as she covered her mouth with her palm, trying to fight back her tears. Sara walked towards Johnny slowly and wrapped her arms around him. Johnny took Sara in his arms and in her father's arms, Sara broke down.
Veronica motioned close to Sara and gently placed her hand over shoulder and asked, "Sara, you have to tell us. What happens to Johnny?".
"He gets killed. That time I went back when I was eight, I came back to warn you."

The Archbishop. The stranger who just kissed him and who was calling her beloved is the Archbishop of this Animus.
"Why does he talk to me...like he knows me or something?" Fleur asked, but was suddenly cut when she saw someone coming out of the catacombs.
"Johnny." She thought to herself when she saw him coming out of the trap door inside the church.
Then she saw Sara and Veronica hug him. They were a family. Fleur's arms ached to hug Johnny, but fought the urge to rush over and do it.
When she heard what Sara said about Johnny dying, it's as if a lump formed inside her throat. She can't imagine Johnny dying. It was too painful.

"I know now.", Johnny replied as he kissed Sara on the forehead. "That's enough for me.". Johnny pulled away for a moment and looked at Sara, "Roth, look at our little girl, all grown up...".
Veronica motioned next to Johnny and locked her fingers in his. She just couldn't believe what she was seeing right then before her.
Sara motioned herself away from Johnny and Veronica and approached Fleur and replied, "Simple, you're his wife.".

Fleur was utterly stunned with Sara's revelation. At the back of her head, she was thinking about it earlier, but brushed it off. She is the wife of the future Animus' ruler.
Placing a hand on her forehead Fleur spoke,
"Let's get out of here. Sil vous plait... "

Sara walked over to the trap door and said, "It's time now.".
Johnny held Veronica hand and walked over to the trap door, waiting for Fleur.
Sara ran to Veronica and Johnny and hugged the two of them tightly, and in turn, Johnny and Veronica held Sara. Sara closed her eyes and relished in the moment.
"Sara, why don't you come back with us?", Veronica asked.
Sara pulled back as she wiped tears from her eyes and replied, "No, I can't. My place is here, but rest assured in knowing that you will see a lot of me.".
In the distance, they heard the sound of commotion... Something was brewing outside and it didn't sound good.
"Go!", Sara cried out.
Johnny and Veronica hugged and kissed their daughter one last time and motioned down the trap door.
Veronica looked back at Fleur and called out, "Come on.".

Fleur approached Sara and enveloped her in a hug.
"You take care Sara." She uttered softly. "And thank you, for everything."
She walked towards Johnny and Veronica and climbed down the trap door with them. She doesn't want to stay another more minute in this Animus, but she swore to herself, someday, they would get back and fix things here.

Sara watched them all motioned down the trap door. She held herself for a moment and closed her eyes as she felt her father's hug, her mother's hug, and Fleur's hug, the woman she once called aunt.
Sara opened her eyes and shut the trap door.
"Here I go again.", Sara murmured as she faced the street.
<***>
Johnny waited for Fleur and Veronica to get down before he led them through the catacombs slowly. Admittedly, whatever was up there, Johnny wasn't in the mood to face it. He had seen the devastation on his way to the past and for one moment, he just wanted to forget it.

Fleur walked silently next to the couple, consumed with her thoughts. It was dark down at the catacombs and it was perfect for her to think about everything.
She wondered how the Archbishop managed to control Animus. She wondered how Johnny and Veronica got killed.
Then she asked herself, what drove future Fleur to marry someone as sinister as the Archbishop.

Zachery sighed at the shriek of Asri’s realization he was in a dress. “Would you stop fussing.” He said ad stood up, brushing the dirt off his cloths. “At least you aren’t wearing pink.” He looked up to see the rabbit. Both of them held eye contact for a moment, but then the rabbit fled. Zachery didn’t waste time. He quickly sprinted after the rabbit, ready to either murder it or capture it. He vanished into the twisting trees of the forest. The sounds of his footsteps fading.
Kankure quickly grabbed hold of Syl’s hand. “C’mon.” Then ran after Zachery with Syl in tow behind. They couldn’t leave the boy alone in such a disastrous world. Who knew what could happen next. The paths grew twisted and trees became dark and colorless. Sounds of creepy owls echoed through the forest as the once bright area was gone behind them. Kankure kept Syl close, looking side to side, calling out Zachery’s name. But there was no reply. It was silent. “I think we took a wrong turn.” Kankure said, stepping over a log.
Zachery was following the rabbit, trying to keep up pace with it. It was talking in riddles, repeating it was late, then disappeared through a rabbit hole in a hill. “This chase is getting annoying…” Zachery said as he crouched down and looked through the hole. It was dark inside, roots hanging from the ceiling of the small cavern. He crawled through, tail twitching as it became completely dark. “What a strange place for a talking rabbit..” Zachery mumbled. His hand slid on something and he fell forward onto a slope. He let out a yelp as he plummeted down into a brick hole. Mirrors and tables floated by with candles and books. But it all ended in a hard crash to the floor in a strange room.
He rubbed his head and sat up, ears alert. All the four sides of the room were different, the walls made of brick but the paint different. There was nothing there but a door on the other side of the room. He pressed down his loose shirt and stood up, walking over to the door. He pried the dark wooden door open, to find a smaller red one. Zachery raised a brow and opened a few more doors until it opened into another room. But the door was small.
He crawled through, forcing himself to fit to find the rabbit. He came onto a white and black tiles floor, another door across from this one. Zachery sighed and walked over, grabbing the bronze handle and twisting it. A yelp came from it and he pulled his hand back. The thing was alive. It moved its nose and winced. “Well, what a turn.” It laughed, “Get it.. Turn.. Doorknob.” It laughed.
“Excuse me. But I need to get through.” Zachery said, arms crossed.
“Well your much too big. Try the bottle on the table.” It replied.
“What table?” Zachery turned around to see a table fly out of the darkness and land in middle of the room. A bottle sitting on the side.
“Just read the directions.” the doorknob said and watched as Zachery walked over to the three legged table and picked up the glass bottle with a tag that read, ‘Drink Me’ “Well that isn’t much of a direction…” He looked at the bottle for any other directions, then shrugged and drank it. The bottle seemed to grow and was heavy, the table growing further from him. Zachery dropped the bottle and looked around. He was smaller.
“What kind of strange world is this?” Zachery muttered and returned to the door.
“Well. .you can fit now.” The doorknob said and chuckled.
“Good, now open up. I’m in a hurry to find that white rabbit.”
“Oh.. No no no.” It moved away from Zachery’s grasp. “Did I mention I was the lock?” it laughed again. Zachery glared.
“Did I mention I can burn you alive?” He replied sourly.
“No need to be grouchy. Surely you have the key?” It replied. A golden key appeared underneath the table, sticking to the back side of it. Zachery didn’t try to go get it, it was too high anyways. Zachery summoned a ball of flames and grabbed the doorknob, melting it and the door swung open. Water rushed in and swept him up, the bottle floating around him. He grabbed onto it as he was swept into the doorway and floated into the outside. The skies were dark and it was raining, the drops pummeling him in his small size.
There was singing not too far away. A large bird was floating on an upside down one, its black head on the waters as the white bird kept singing a tune. Another pushing him from behind. “Land ho My dear fellows!” It shouted, pointing at the beach of an island. “Hello!! Oversized parakeets!! Over here!!” Zachery shouted as he clung onto the bottle as not to drowned. They didn’t notice him and kept going. Landing on the beach with the crashing wave.
Zachery lost his clench on the slippery glass bottle and was swept away with the current. Being washed up onto the beach as well. The white bird in the suit was on top of a rock with different fish and birds and lobsters running around it. “Hello!?” He shouted, waving his hands.
“Why hello there kitten, come join us in our circle.” the large bird said.
“Kitten?” Zachery repeated. He sighed, unwilling to hurt the bastard even though it just called him a kitten. It wasn’t an object like the doorknob. “Did you see a white rabbit pass by here?” He asked.
“You have to run with the others Kitten!” It replied, still dancing on top of the rock as he sung and another wave crashed in. Zachery got pushed forward, water soaking into him again and dripping from his now more flattened hair. The white rabbit came on a black umbrella with the wave, but looked at it’s watch. “Oh dear! I’m late! I’m late!!” It shouted, picking up it’s umbrella and shaking out the water, then ran through the forest.
“Hey wait!!” Zachery pushed through the fish and followed after it into the strange colored forest.

Syl let Kure drag it along after Zachary, looking up at him in curiosity. What connection did he have to Zachary, it wondered… what had he done wrong to merit Zachary looking at him like that? And why was he chasing after him now? If there was one thing that Syl didn’t like about amnesia, it was that it didn’t remember Kure’s history – not the ugly bits at least. Whatever had blocked its memory sure was selective – Syl didn’t have a clue of the dark aspects of Kure’s past – it only knew bits and pieces of their happy memories, like cozying up in bed together and going on all sorts of adventures… Good times…
It watched happily as the multicoloured trees passed it by, and took particular joy in staring at the exquisite, red leaved trees. The colour red had always enchanted and fascinated Syl, so bright and cheerful, like the eternal flame of legend. It was so busy staring at their surroundings – all the multicoloured trees bearing strange fruits, the gorgeous mushrooms with polka dots on them, the vibrant green grasses… if it wasn’t Kure holding it, it might have ran off into the wilderness to explore. It loved his company too much to willingly part from him like that.
“Kure,” it muttered, as it sensed him come to a stop, not noticing that they had lost Zachery…
It heard footsteps as it saw Kiel and Asri quickly catch up with them, Kiel holding Asri’s hand and dragging him along behind them, Asri being apparently exhausted by the effort. Kiel simply held him close, smiling.
“It’s alright, Asri.”
Asri collapsed to his knees, groaning.
“No more running, okay?”
“I’m afraid that Fate may not be able to grant that that request,” replied Kiel, grinning, “unless you want me to carry you around like a knight in shining armour.”
Asri punched Kiel’s face, although as he was weak, it carried little force, not even harming Kiel in the least.
“SHUT IT! That role is for women!”
“Oh, Asri,” laughed Kiel, “if you had a vagina, you’d fit the role perfectly. But I love you in a dress, even more. It makes you look more like a girl. Especially since you–”
“SHUT UP!” yelled Asri.
“What?” asked Kiel, still smiling, “ever wanted to date a lesbian?”
“Can we switch outfits?!”
The forest echoed with Kiel’s raucous laughter.
“Sorry, but the sight of you in girl panties is too horrible for me to contemplate,” it said, grinning, “and to think that you’re a priest of Luisine too! A veritable believer in the old faith before the humans went and ruined everything. For once, I actually like Fate’s sense of humour.”
Asri twitched, very irritated. He knew what Kiel was playing at, and while he wasn’t actually wearing girl panties, that joke still stung. Then again, was no worse than the other jokes that Kiel slung at him – their arguments were full of exaggerations and… well… Kiel’s brand of ‘fun.’ Not compatible with priesthood.
“If it wasn’t for you, I’d still be a virgin.”
“Male virgins don’t exist,” said Kiel, “isn’t that what society expects?”
“Bah, my parents were despicable but they would never stoop so low!” yelled Asri, “That’s just a misconception! Kiel, you do realize what you’ve done to me, right?! Priests are supposed to be pure!”
Kiel continued to laugh as it playfully poked Asri in the chest.
“You’re the one who chose to stick with us, you funny little airhead.”
Asri hissed vehemently at Kiel, before turning to Syl and Kure.
“Hey Syl, do you know any way that I can use to nominate Kiel as being the worst pervert on Animus?!”
Kiel elbowed Asri, hard enough that Asri recoiled in pain.
“Watch it, will you? I don’t even have a penis!”
“Since when is having a penis a requirement for being a pervert?!” yelled Asri, “most perverts may be male, but not all of them are! You’re getting it all wrong, Kiel! You can’t stereotype humans like that! You… you just can’t! Wasn’t I once human?!”
Kiel simply slung its arm around Asri’s shoulder, looking as happy and chipper as ever. A huge, almost insanely wide grin on its face. So weird, yet so… Kiel… in all its oddball glory… Asri had always been trying to understand why he managed to love Kiel despite its habit of being so annoying at the most inappropriate of times.
“Oh, you know how humans are Asri,” said Kiel cheerfully, “so delightfully hypocritical and fun to mess with! So full of delightful surprises and wonderful reproduction habits. So full of all the most perplexing of beliefs and traditions… ah, you got to appreciate the fact that they’re usually so varied and heterogeneous. You want to be human, right? So why are you so flustered when I treat you like this? It’s fun, no?”
“Fun for you,” muttered Asri quietly.
Kiel stepped up to Asri, touching his cheeks with its right hand. A slight blush came upon Asri’s face, involuntarily, and much to his horror. Its hand then gently lowered itself until it cupped his chin, slowly lowering it so that Asri was forced to make eye contact with Kiel. There he saw his reflection in Kiel’s eyes, stunned and stuttering, immobilized.
“Oh, hush,” said Kiel softly.
It then pulled in Asri, kissing him on the lips. Asri tensed, his blush growing redder. His eyes widened, when he realized what he was doing, but soon found that he couldn’t stop. He struggled to free himself, but caught within Kiel’s grasp, it was impossible. Kiel released after what seemed like forever, and Asri stumbled away, landing on the ground on his back, blushing red and stuttering incoherently. Shocked. Stunned. Knowing that this was not the first time.
Kiel knelt down next to him, still smiling.
“I know what you’re going to say next, that this is all my fault, right?” `
Asri stared at it, still stunned. Kiel gently touched Asri’s chest, feeling his beating heart, beating so madly and loudly that it almost feared that it would burst out of his chest.
“Well, wouldn’t you be inclined to call yourself a pervert…”
It leaned over Asri, its stare so piercing that Asri couldn’t have sworn that for a moment, his heart had stopped. Kiel…
“… My dear brother?”
Syl and Kure weren’t far from them, and Syl had turned in their direction, still holding onto Kure, to watch the show. Kiel’s behaviour was nothing out of the usual… what some might perceive as weird, Syl was very much used to. After all, this was only the umpteenth time that Kiel had ever poked fun of Asri. Kissing just happened to be best way to shut him up. Whether Kiel actually had any hidden feelings for Asri beyond familial love… well… that was a mystery even to Syl. It wasn’t what most people would consider to be a ‘normal’ sibling, but Kiel was Kiel, and it was one of a kind. It loved its sibling as family, weirdness as well, not even questioning where Kiel could have gotten it from.
“Don’t worry,” it whispered to Kure, smiling cheerfully, “Kiel’s always been like this… as far as I know. They look cute together, don’t you think?”

Veronica and Johnny were quiet for most of the trip back; they didn't know what to say or what to do, only their hands, fingers intertwined within the other seemed to fill the space.
Within time, they reached the ladder, Johnny motioned up first and waited for Veronica and Fleur.
<***>
Any moment...
Gaudi, waited as he stood before Mr. Psycho's tower. Damn it, Chrystablle had not arrived. If they motioned forward without her, he could instantly take her to where they were. He needed her right now.
Any moment...
Gaudi glanced at Rosa and gave her a smile.
Any moment...
Gaudi turned his head towards the street to find the manhole cover before him opening.
Now...
<***>
Johnny crept up the ladder and opened the lid to find himself, Veronica, and Fleur, miles away from the church and standing before Mr. Psycho's tower. In the distance, he saw Rosa standing next to a man... Must be new, he hadn't seen him 'round before.
"What in the hell?", Johnny murmured.
Johnny turned and took Veronica's hand as she crept out of the pot hole. Standing where he was, he waited for Fleur.
Veronica gazed first at the tower, Sara's up there, and then at Rosa and the stranger. She didn't know what it was about him, but she felt as if she had known him before.
The man approached her and asked, "Veronica Roth?".
"Yes, who are you?", Veronica answered.
"I am Gaudencio Bastarrachea, I have been expecting you.".

The moment Chrystabelle began traveling through Gaudi's energy, she could tell that something was not going quite as it should. Her own powers seemed to be gaining potential energy, and were fully bent on dragging her to a different place entirely. She found herself fighting her own abilities to stick to the path designated by Gaudi, which slowed down the process considerably. By the time she did manage to catch up to Gaudi and Rosa, she felt a tad bit fatigued and nauseous. Chrystabelle stood next to Rosa, clutching her stomach idly as she watched Gaudi and Veronica.

Gaudi turned back to Chrystabelle with a smile and approached her with a caring arm over her shoulder. "I am glad to see you have finally arrived." Gaudi said almost sweetly. "You had me worried for a moment there.". Gaudi reached for Chystablle's hand and brought her forward. "Come, the Verus Statua has arrived.".
Veronica approached Gaudi with her mouth stumbling, asking, "Who are you and how could you be expecting me?".
Gaudi dropped his head as he approached Veronica tiredly and replied, "Veronica, I have known of you since you Mr. Tavalera awoke in the city close to one year ago. I was once a Priest in this city and if you remember correctly, I had served along your side a lifetime ago, long before you rose to the ranks of High Priestess.".
"Gaudencio...", Veronica murmured, remembering.
"Please, call me Gaudi.".

Fleur climbed up the ladder last, and stood next to the couple. Immediately she saw the tower, it was new and she swore it wasn't in the skyline of Animus when they left for the Future. Her eyes, then was directed to the figures standing several feet away from them.
She didn't know any of them. Somehow she prayed to see Mazrin, but was disappointed that it was just a couple of strangers.
The man walked forward and started talking to Veronica, like he knew her, somehow. The closer he gets the more he looked familiar to Fleur. Finally when the stranger told them his name, and his face got illuminated, Fleur gasped, suddenly clutching Johnny's arm.
